Joe Biden Says He Taught His Entire Family How to Ski in Vail, Colorado and Climbed the Grand Canyon “From the River Up”

“I taught my boys to ski here. I taught my family to ski here… For us easterners, we talk about that at dinner. No, I’m serious. All those memories that you all understandably take for granted, they’re a big deal where I come from,” Biden said.

Rep. James Comer: 'We're investigating Hunter Biden because he's a national security threat'

Rep. Comer said that the media is protecting the Biden family by not asking the tough questions.

Kentucky GOP Rep. James Comer says that if Hunter Biden gets indicted, it should be on major charges, and not "small potatoes."

"What we're hearing out of the Washington Post and rumors that we're hearing, what Hunter Biden is going to be indicted on, this is small potatoes," Rep. Comer said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show.

"Lying on the gun application, tax evasion, these are things that we've known about for a long time. I don't really care about those things. We're investigating Hunter Biden not to get Hunter Biden. We're investigating Hunter Biden because he's a national security threat."

Rep. Comer said that the media is protecting the Biden family by not asking the tough questions.

"When CNN interviews the president of the United States last night to talk about Hunter Biden, they talk about his gun violation, and they don't mention the millions of dollars that he received from a Chinese energy company, which is now the American version of Enron," he continued.

According to Comer, the Biden family has been using the Biden name to get rich through overseas deals.

"It looks like to me that Hunter Biden and Hunter Biden's Uncle Jim have been profiting off the Biden name," Comer continued. "They've been serving as a lobbyist for foreign countries and for companies that normal Americans wouldn't be allowed to do business with to try to help them navigate the government bureaucracy."

Comer says that if Republicans take the House back, investigating Hunter Biden and his business deals will be one of the main priorities.

"Joe Biden has an America-last energy policy," Comer stated. "That's China first and America last. Why is he doing that? Maybe it's because he's compromised because of his son's shady business dealings. So these are the things that we're going to look into in a Republican majority."

Tulsi Gabbard: “If You Go Against the Clintons You’re Dead”

During Tulsi Gabbard’s internet-breaking interview with Joe Rogan, she made some interesting comments regarding the Clintons.

During her interview, Tulsi who is a former Democratic US Representative stated that if you ever “go against Clinton you’re dead.”

She would follow up that statement by saying if you don’t follow the Clinton’s demands then you are on the “sh*t list”.

It appears as if Gabbard knows all about the Clinton kill list.

The media's walk on the dark side

https://www.wnd.com/2022/10/medias-walk-dark-side/

From 1918 until 1991, "Pravda" – meaning "Truth" – was the official newspaper of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. But the people of the Soviet Union understood something about Pravda that many naive Westerners did not. Despite its auspicious name, Pravda rarely published the truth. Interestingly, today dozens of news outlets around the U.S. promote themselves as independent local news websites when, in fact, they are not. Sadly, naive locals fall prey to them, allowing themselves to be misled in ways Soviet citizens were smart enough to avoid with Pravda.

More than four dozen news outlets represent themselves today on the internet as supposedly being independent local news websites; however, they are far from what they advertise. Instead, they fall under a single network managed by Democratic operatives pushing their political party's agenda. All 51 of these websites are based in Washington, D.C., yet, to give a contrary appearance, they operate under names reflecting a non-Washington location, such as the "Milwaukee Metro Times."

These news websites are not independent at all. They are linked together under a single for-profit corporate entity known as Local Report Inc. That company was established in 2021 in Florida and, ever since, has flown under the radar as far as its representation of but a single political ideology.….

Fan of Trump and Farage raises far-right ‘Q’ flag at his Cornish castle

A key supporter of Nigel Farage and Donald Trump has provoked ridicule after using his Cornish castle to fly the flag of a prominent conspiracy theory identified by the FBI as inspiring rightwing violence.

John Mappin, who owns Camelot Castle at Tintagel, used the Victorian hotel to promote a rightwing hoax known as QAnon, which the US intelligence agency has said is a motivator for “domestic extremists” who want to carry out violence in the US.

Mappin is a central figure behind Turning Point UK, the British arm of the pro-Trump American student organisation which has been endorsed by a number of Conservative politicians, including the home secretary, Priti Patel, and Jacob Rees-Mogg, as well as Farage, the leader of the Brexit party.

Last June, Mappin was seen at a lavish Turning Point UK fundraising dinner, sitting opposite Farage.

The anti-fascist organisation Hope Not Hate dismissed Mappin’s flag stunt at Camelot and said that his Turning Point UK – which recently unveiled a range of merchandise celebrating Boris Johnson’s election victory – was increasingly peripheral. “Mappin is an eccentric figure, considered outlandish even by his fringe rightwing peers. This childish ploy is a weak attempt at getting attention for himself and his marginal Turning Point UK organisation, and is better off being ignored,” it said in a statement.

The QAnon conspiracy theory is based on posts made by a user on the 4chan and 8chan websites. Its advocates believe that Trump is locked in a battle with elements of the “deep state”, including individuals such as Hillary Clinton.

Some also believe that Trump is on their side: he pointed out a “beautiful baby” whose jumpsuit was adorned with the “Q” symbol at a US rally last year and retweeted an account that promoted QAnon.

However, Hope Not Hate said that despite attempts by figures such as Mappin, the conspiracy theory has yet to gain traction within the UK. “The QAnon conspiracy theories feed into the wider paranoia and distrust of the American far right but have little traction in the UK outside of a few peripheral circles,” it added.

Mappin is a devotee of Trump, having awarded him an “honorary Camelot Castle knighthood” in 2016 and the following year was photographed with the US president and the first lady, Melania, in Washington. He was contacted for comment.

Sex strikes won’t win the midterms

https://unherd.com/2022/10/sex-strikes-wont-win-the-midterms/

American culture will sexualise anything in order to sell it to young people: cars, hamburgers, and for decades now, voting. In 1990, the awareness-raising non-profit Rock the Vote sought to bring youths to the polls with a TV spot featuring a flag-draped Madonna: “Doctor King, Malcolm X, freedom of speech is as good as sex,” she raps, before throwing open the stars ‘n’ stripes to reveal a red string bikini. The ad ended with a threat, or perhaps a promise, delivered in Madge’s trademark breathy lisp: “If you don’t vote, you’re gonna get a spanking!”

Thirty-two years later, with the 2022 midterm elections looming, these attempts to promote civic engagement have changed their medium but not their message. Youth voter turnout is still seen as a matter of national urgency — only half of people under 30 voted in the most recent presidential election — and multiple organisations are now attempting to follow the Rock the Vote model to lure them to the polls. This brings us to a slick music video entitled “No Voting, No Vucking”, which was released last week. In it, rappers Trina and Saucy Santana narrate the story of a young black woman who matches with a promising-looking man on the dating app BLK. There’s just one, critical red flag: he doesn’t vote!

This relationship, per the video, is a non-starter: like the song says, no voting, no vucking. (At the risk of stating the obvious, the word “vucking” is phonetically indistinguishable from another, naughtier word.) This withholding — combined with plenty of no-holds-barred dancing — is enough to get the gentleman in question to change his ways. The song ends with an exchange of looks at the ballot box, then cuts to a shot of the awestruck man falling back on a bed, naked from the waist up.

A Proclamation on Establishment of the Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2022/10/12/a-proclamation-on-establishment-of-the-camp-hale-continental-divide-national-monument/

The Camp Hale and Tenmile Range area lies along the continental divide in north-central Colorado and is treasured for its historical and spiritual significance, stunning geological features, and unique wildlife and plants. The rugged landscape serves as a living testament to a pivotal moment in America’s military history, as these peaks and valleys forged the elite soldiers of the famed 10th Mountain Division — the Army’s first and only mountain infantry division — which helped free Europe from the grip of Nazi control in World War II. The area is also foundational to preserving and interpreting the story of 10th Mountain Division veterans who, after their return from World War II, applied the skills they learned in the Camp Hale and Tenmile Range area to establish America’s skiing and outdoor recreation industry. Today, the largely undeveloped peaks, slopes, and valleys of the Camp Hale and Tenmile Range area provide veterans, their families, and other visitors with a place to learn the history of the 10th Mountain Division; to honor their sacrifices and contributions to our Nation; and to experience firsthand the formidable environs that taught American soldiers to endure extreme mountain terrain, deep snow, and punishing cold. This endurance proved pivotal to the success of the United States and its allies in World War II when, in February 1945, the 10th Mountain Division successfully scaled a 1,500-foot cliff face to capture a German position in the Apennine Mountains, helping the Allies to break through the German defensive line in Italy and push further into Europe.

The Army began construction of Camp Hale in April of 1942 in the Pando Valley after the Department of Agriculture authorized the War Department to use 179,000 acres of National Forest lands to train soldiers to climb and ski in preparation for operations in harsh, cold, high-altitude areas. The valley floor — which sits at 9,200 feet in elevation — was broad enough to hold a large encampment, and the Eagle River, which passes through the valley, provided a year-round water supply. Near the encampment were training grounds fit for the Army’s purpose, including the rugged Tenmile Range’s rock faces, deep snow, and frigid temperatures. The site also took advantage of existing infrastructure, such as the nearby rail system and highway, which remain important arteries through the Rocky Mountains. ……

Alex Jones Ordered to Pay $965 Million to Sandy Hook Victims’ Families

https://www.allsides.com/story/criminal-justice-alex-jones-ordered-pay-965-billion-sandy-hook-victims-families

AllSides Summary

Key Facts: A Connecticut jury concluded that Alex Jones, host of InfoWars, should pay $965 million in defamation retribution to the family members of those killed in the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012. The defamation suit came from a number of statements made by Jones in the aftermath of the shooting, including claims that the massacre was a hoax concocted to restrict gun rights.

Key Quote: Speaking to reporters after the verdict announcement, plaintiff attorney Christopher Mattei stated “the jury’s verdict is a testament to that courage, in a resounding affirmation that people of goodwill, dedicated to the truth, mindful of their responsibilities to their fellow citizens can come together to protect the innocent, to reveal lies masquerading as truth, and to set right a historic wrong.”

For Context: In 2012, Adam Lanza killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School before committing suicide. This is the second defamation suit against Jones over false claims about the Sandy Hook massacre. In August, a Texas jury ordered Jones to pay $49.3 million in damages to a different family who lost a child in the shooting. Jones is expected to face a third defamation suit, again in Texas.

How the Media Covered It: The decision was covered across the board evenly, although left and center outlets featured the story more prominently on their homepages. Jones, who was not present in the court, live-streamed the verdict announcement on his show.

CIA, FBI developing intelligence supercomputer

After months of criticism that they do not work well together, the CIA and FBI have begun jointly developing a new supercomputer system designed to improve their ability to both cull and share information.

FEBRUARY 12, 2002

https://www.govexec.com/defense/2002/02/cia-fbi-developing-intelligence-supercomputer/11050/

Utilizing the types of supercomputers already used by private industry to conduct marketing research, the CIA, FBI and other investigative agencies should be able to move beyond Counterintelligence-21–an information-sharing system now being used but already considered outdated, analysts said. The new system would take advantage of a faster, more comprehensive database, they said.

The new system under development should "meet the needs of all the consumers," the U.S. official said. "A lot of it is driven by [Homeland Security Director] Tom Ridge's office. It's something [CIA and FBI officials are] working on continuously. They're continuously meeting, discussing and designing the new database."

"It's been the topic of discussion" during meetings between Ridge and President Bush, Johndroe said.

West Pledges to Supply Ukraine With More Air Defense; Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant Loses Power

KYIV, Ukraine—Western powers pledged to supply Ukraine with more potent air defense systems following a series of retaliatory Russian missile strikes.

The Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant suffered a “blackout” when a missile damaged a distant electrical substation, Ukraine’s state nuclear operator said. The power loss increased the risk of a radiation emergency because the plant needs electricity to prevent its reactors from overheating.

Energoatom said the external power source was repaired after about eight hours and that the plant’s emergency diesel generators—which rely on uncertain fuel deliveries in the war zone—provided backup in the meantime, but a similarly hazardous interruption could happen at any time.

“Russia has seized the plant and is not taking any steps to de-escalate. On the contrary, it is shelling important infrastructure daily,” the company’s press service told The Associated Press.

Hundreds of cities and towns across Ukraine lost electricity after Russia launched a wide-ranging missile assault Monday in retaliation for a truck bomb explosion that damaged a bridge linking Russia with the Crimean Peninsula, which it annexed in 2014.

With repairs to the grid still in progress, Ukraine’s prime minister asked people to reduce evening energy consumption by 25 percent and prepare for winter by keeping essentials such as warm clothes, candles, flashlights, and batteries ready.

Ukraine’s Western allies met at NATO headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday to calibrate their response to Russia’s latest attacks.

U.S. Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Ukraine wants its Western partners to provide it with a complete air defense system to contend with Russian warplanes and missiles. Milley spoke to reporters after a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, about 50 nations that meet regularly to assess Kyiv’s needs and drum up equipment.

“What Ukraine is asking for, and what we think can be provided, is an integrated air missile defense system. So that doesn’t control all the airspace over Ukraine, but they’re designed to control priority targets that Ukraine needs to protect,” Milley told reporters

Andriy Yermak, the head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office, said the meeting was “historic” because decisions to close the sky for Ukraine were being made there. Ukraine has put a priority on bucking up its air defenses, but NATO member nations have worried how to do that without triggering a wider war in Europe.

Durham's listed exhibits incl all 4 of FBI's FISA affidavits for spying on Trump adviser Page. They should be released IN FULL, sans redactions There's no nat'l security reason to cont. to black out whole sections of the docs. We now know that lurking beneath those redactions are the fabrications of Danchenko, which r embarrassing (otherwise incriminating) to the FBI

Also, Durham's listed exhibits include the 59-page summary of the FBI's 3 interviews with Danchenko in Jan 2017. They also should be released IN FULL, sans redactions. There's no nat'l security reason to continue to black out whole sections of that doc, either. FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten wrote the summary. Durham has the authority to unredact relevant sections of the FISAs and Danchenko report. If he doesn't release these exhibits in fuller form, then you know he is part of the cover-up

Durham, who is personally litigating the Danchenko case, is getting basic facts wrong.Durham insists the primary subsource of the Steele dossier was not known until the Fall of 2020. In fact, RealClearInvestigations was the first publication to out Danchenko as the primary subsource on July 24, 2020 – the Summer of 2020. The next day, July 25, the New York Times confirmed RCI's reporting, which was based on congressional investigators and federal arrest records

REVEALED: Sergei Millian was also a paid FBI informant, along with Danchenko who fabricated him as a source for the dirty dossier. So Steele, Danchenko, Millian, Joffe and Sussmann were all sources or alleged sources for FBI dirt on Trump, and all of them happened to work directly for, or closely with, the FBI. With the exception of Millian (who thanks to FusionGPS conveniently showed up on the FBI's radar when they all needed a Trump-tied "Russian" cut-out to source the wild accusations), they also worked for the Hillary Clinton campaign. For all intents and purposes then, the Clinton campaign dossiers the Steele reports plus the Alfa Bank reports were also IN-HOUSE products of the FBI

NEW: Turns out Durham's disagreement (below) with IG Horowitz over his conclusions about Crossfire Hurricane's "predication and how the FBI case was opened” had nothing to do with the dossier. Durham simply felt the case should have been opened as a preliminary investigation instead of a "full investigation" right out of the gate. By opening it as a full investigation "from Day One," Comey and his team had authority to wiretap Trump advisers, whereas they would not have had that authority under a preliminary investigation. This means, apparently, that Durham buys the FBI's line that the Crossfire team never received the dossier at HQ until Sept 19, 2016 and therefore did not use it as predication

“I have the utmost respect for the mission of the Office of Inspector General and the comprehensive work that went into the report prepared by Mr. Horowitz and his staff. However, our investigation is not limited to developing information from within component parts of the Justice Department. Our investigation has included developing information from other persons and entities, both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S. Based on the evidence collected to date, and while our investigation is ongoing, last month we advised the Inspector General that we do not agree with some of the report’s conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened.”

The most powerful computer of them all is located at a $2 billion complex in the middle of the Utah desert. The exact details of what can be found at the NSA’s Community Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative Data Center are hazy, though whatever is in there is really big. The facility consumes a staggering 65 megawatts of electricity—about half as much as the Hadron Super Collider—and since the NSA isn’t in the particle acceleration business, that probably means raw computing power. Reportedly, the data center houses a supercomputer codenamed Vesuvius, which might well be a quantum computer. Such a machine would be able to execute 100 undecillion (that’s a one with 38 zeroes behind it) calculations at once, which means it’s almost powerful enough to run the video game Crysis at maximum detail settings. It also means it could theoretically brute force PGP, a data encryption system with no known vulnerabilities. (Even with the most theoretically powerful conventional supercomputer, it would take right at 10 trillion years to break PGP. For sake of comparison, the universe itself is only 13 billion years old.)

''Behind the Scenes: President Zelenskyy's Holographic & AR Address to Europe's Tech Community''

un 28, 2022 With the help of our friends at Talesmith, Garden Studios, Evercoast and ARHT Media, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Europe’s tech leaders via 3D hologram, live from Founders Forum London 2022. He urged our community to donate to United24’s Rebuild Ukraine fund and invest in the digital transformation that will define the country’s long-term rebuild, highlighting Ukraine’s resilient development, despite the ongoing war.

By broadcasting President Zelenskyy’s address via hologram and 3D avatar, our aim was to exemplify the world-changing innovation our community is capable of delivering and inspire our network to develop new technologies that can help rebuild Ukraine and promote truth dissemination.

We worked with ARHT Media to bring their holographic capsule to three other European cities, enabling the President to appear on stage simultaneously at the UK’s Founders Forum, Stockholm’s Brilliant Minds, Amsterdam’s The Next Web and Paris’ VivaTech. We also live-streamed his telepresence to Dublin Tech Summit, London Tech Week’s AI Summit and SuperReturn Berlin, to bring the President’s message to nearly 200,000 leaders across every vertical of the tech industry. Somewhere there is a tribe that have a tradition.

When someone of that tribe has an idea and they argue over that idea, the tribe get drunk and continues arguing the pros and contras of that new idea. If the pro arguments for the new idea stand while drunk they implement the idea.

The idea of trying out new stuff on leaders which the leaders want to implement is even better. They´ll think about any new ideas more careful..

Hmm usually I don't pay much attention to this type of thing but why are they deleting swordys posts? What was illegal in the message? Where there any CP? Any violation of the rules for posting on this board? If things are getting deleted which are harmless simply because they call out board personas is this really still a place that honors and protects free speech or just the personas that control the kitchen?

Board admins have been doing this for a while. Anyone who mentions Doge or Tranime in negative context gets their posts axed and usually banned for it. Plenty of screenshots for proof. Either way without Q posting here for now it doesn't really matter. No doubt they are watching how this new crew is handling themselves, probably not too happy about it.

MUST READ!

There is no “crime” having to do with the storage of documents at Mar-a- Lago, only in the minds of the Radical Left Lunatics who are destroying our Country, and were just forced by the Courts to give me back much of what they took (STOLE?) during their unprecedented and unnecessary break in of my home. The Clinton “Socks Case,” which is law, says it all belongs to “the President,” NO CRIME, and the Presidential Record Act is simple, “negotiate,” and NO CRIME. These people are CRAZY!!!

The Brief: It Was Okay for Bill Clinton to Keep Presidential Records, But Not Trump?

A former president can keep whatever presidential records he wants and the government has no authority to seize them. Period.

A former president can keep whatever presidential records he wants and the government has no authority to seize them. Period.

That was the Department of Justice’s legal opinion a decade ago. It was a conclusion shared by both the National Archives and a U.S. District Court in Washington D.C. On that basis, ex-president Bill Clinton was allowed to maintain custody of whatever he wanted, including allegedly classified audio tapes that he stored in his home.

Fast forward to August 8, 2022 when Attorney General Merrick Garland ordered a team of FBI agents to raid and forcibly seize presidential records from the home and office of former President Donald Trump. Garland did it because it was Trump, not Clinton. It was purely political and contrary to the established policy of the DOJ, the controlling law under the Presidential Records Act, and the earlier federal court decision.

The 2012 case arose when the organization Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit seeking Clinton’s documents pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act. Litigation ensued to pressure the National Archives into retrieving the materials. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson ruled that control over presidential records rests squarely in the hands of a former president:

“The National Archives does not have the authority to designate materials as ‘presidential records.’ It lacks any right, duty, or means to seize control of them.”

The judge adopted the very argument made in court by the Justice Department:

“(Seizing the records) is an ‘extraordinary request’ that is ‘unfounded, contrary to the Presidential Records Act’s express terms, and contrary to the traditional principles of administrative law’.”

Sussmann is the person who brought the Alfa Bank connection to the Clinton campaign in the first place, who then approved it for distribution to the press, according to Christopher Steele, the former British spy hired by Fusion GPS who was hired by the Clinton campaign and the DNC in June 2016 who falsely alleged candidate Trump was a bought and paid for Russian agent. In 2020, Steele stated in a defamation trial brought by Alfa Bank that the source of the Alfa Bank allegations as it related to his own reporting was none other than Sussmann: “I’m very clear is that the first person that ever mentioned the Trump server issue, Alfa server issue, was Mr. Sussmann.” Steele said the meeting occurred on July 29, 2016.

By then, Steele was already providing the FBI with his reports, between July and Oct. 2016, according to the Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, including a Sept. 14, 2016 report. That was five days before the Sussmann meeting with Baker on Sept. 19, 2016.

If Sussmann was just acting as a good citizen by bring the Alfa Bank allegations to the FBI — and it was not a Clinton campaign work product — then why was it brought to Steele (also an FBI confidential source) months earlier in July 2016, who similarly was acting on behalf of the Clinton campaign? Why didn’t Sussmann go to the FBI first?

So, there you have it. Garland defied both the DOJ’s own legal interpretation of the law and previous court precedent to target Trump in advance of an important national election. His flagrant abuse of power bears the unmistakable stench of partisan politics, which has infected the attorney general’s corrupt tenure from the outset.

The FBI did not raid Clinton’s home to reclaim records. Nor did the FBI raid former president Barack Obama’s unsecured warehouse where he stored classified documents for the better part of two years. Lawless raids only happen to Republicans.

The Clinton case is instructive on several levels.

First, not only does it establish the right of a former president to designate what constitutes presidential records, but it also grants him the right under law to maintain control over what he deems to be personal records accrued during his term in office. Second, the case also recognizes the sole discretion of a president to segregate and dispose of records.

Finally, Judge Jackson’s opinion reinforces the constraints on the National Archives and the Justice Department. Their ability to retrieve documents is limited to a civil action, not criminal seizure.

Thus, in the Trump dispute, the proper remedy was for Garland to file a motion to compel enforcement of the civil subpoena seeking records. Instead, he chose to ignore the Presidential Records Act and raid Trump’s home under the guise of criminal statutes that have no application. He snookered a magistrate into signing an overly broad general search warrant that is strictly prohibited by the Fourth Amendment.

Garland and the National Archives are contradicting themselves. They assert that Trump has no right to the presidential records. But when Bill Clinton did the same thing, it was perfectly okay. He can keep them. No raid, no crime, no national security concerns. Move along…nothing to see here. If Garland is foolish enough to indict Trump, I look forward to watching how he’ll twist himself into a pretzel trying to explain the government’s hypocrisy.

All along, the attorney general has claimed —without real evidence— that the former president harbored still-classified documents in his possession. Trump insists he declassified the records before he left office. Media pundits who know next to nothing about the law have mocked the former president’s statements. Naturally, they are wrong.

This invites the question…what is the process for declassifying records? For a sitting president, there is no firm protocol. He has unfettered authority and latitude to declassify anything and may do so at will. His power derives from Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution that identifies the President as Commander In Chief. Typically, presidents follow an informal process of notifying relevant departments that may be affected. But this is neither imperative nor mandatory.

In declassifying, the president can provide a reason or no reason at all. He might memorialize his act in writing if he so desires, but it is not required by any law, rule, or regulation. Indeed, he need not tell anyone. In plain terms, he can simply do it. Agencies and government officials can complain all they want that the president is “jeopardizing national security,” but they have no recourse and cannot override or countermand his decision.

If Trump declassified the documents in question, then this entire controversy is about custody of presidential papers under the meaning of the Presidential Records Act. As the Clinton case underscores, these kinds of disputes belong in civil court. But Garland and the FBI took a different course. Why? The answer should be obvious to any reasonable observer.

This was always about politics, not national security. The latter was simply a convenient pretext. The true intent was to bludgeon Republicans politically with the cudgel of a raid and the corresponding threat of a criminal indictment that was guaranteed to gin up the Trump-hating media into a frenzy right before an election.

The FBI has served as witting accessories to Garland’s machinations. They have weaponized their immense powers to persecute political adversaries. President Joe Biden has created the equivalent of a secret police state. The litmus test for thuggery is your party affiliation. It’s not just Donald Trump, the FBI and DOJ want to crush all political opposition. If you dare to protest policies or disagree with the Biden agenda, you can expect a heavy knock on the door. Or maybe they won’t knock at all.

Recently, nearly two dozen whistleblowers within the FBI stepped forward to members of congress exposing how the bureau has been running a protection racket for the Bidens, hiding incriminating evidence of Hunter Biden’s influence-peddling schemes, halting the criminal investigation, and spreading lies about Russian “disinformation.” But that’s not all.

The whistleblowers have offered detailed evidence of how the FBI spies on law-abiding Americans to help advance a political agenda. They manipulate crime statistics and inflate the number of domestic terrorism cases. They conduct raids without legal justification by lying to judges. SWAT teams are being misused to make misdemeanor arrests. Overzealous agents are banging on the doors of people who were nowhere near the nation’s Capitol on January 6th.

Those honorable whistleblowers who have had the courage to come forward are being punished by top brass at the FBI, in direct violation of laws forbidding retaliation. Recently, Merrick Garland sent out a department-wide directive ordering agents never to speak with members of congress. Garland’s missive is illegal and violates the Whistleblower Protection Act —not that he cares.

FBI Director Christopher Wray has done nothing to cleanup his cesspool of an agency. To the contrary, he covers up acts of malfeasance and misfeasance while enabling Garland’s authoritarian lawlessness. Concerned parents who complain at school board meetings are treated as “domestic terrorists” and investigated by the FBI. Escalating attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers are largely ignored with zero arrests. Both the FBI and DOJ look the other way when demonstrators shout threats at conservative Supreme Court Justices outside their homes, in direct violation of the law.

None of this is surprising given the shameful record of the FBI. Under Wray’s predecessor James Comey, the agency lied to the FISA court to obtain warrants to spy on Trump’s campaign, doctored evidence against him, and used a phony “dossier” as the basis for a corrupted “collusion” investigation of the president that they knew was utterly baseless. Sadly, this is what our once vaunted law enforcement agency has become —a powerful political cabal that targets innocent Americans and routinely violates their civil rights.

Both Wray and Garland have squandered trust in government. They should be sacked or impeached. Reform is desperately needed.

Think about all the FBI revelations that are just now coming out in these indictments and trials after being bottled up for 5 or 6 years. Just imagine what bombshells are still being covered up! The drip-drip-drip nature of disclosures, however, allows the media to ignore the story, while allowing the dirty cops to slither away (or do damage control on CNN &MSNBC). The heretofore ineffective Durham, who is at risk of losing even the otherwise slam-dunk Danchenko case, still has a chance to redeem himself by tying the many scattered pieces of the scandal together for the public in his final report. If it is done right, and written in an ineluctably factual style, it could be devastating and hard for the Washington punditry to dismiss it as any kind of partisan finding

ThinThread Whistleblowers

Thomas Drake, William Binney, and J. Kirk Wiebe

https://whistleblower.org/whistleblower-profiles/thinthread-whistleblowers/

Former United States National Security Agency (NSA) workers William Binney, Thomas Drake, Ed Loomis, and J. Kirk Wiebe believed ThinThread, an in-house electronic surveillance data collection system, which was both cost-effective and protective of American citizens’ privacy rights, was wrongly rejected in favor of Trailblazer, a conceptually similar program created by NSA contractors for billions of dollars. Loomis, Wiebe, and Binney led the design of ThinThread at a mere $3.2 million cost. But they were all also concerned that the NSA’s umbrella mass surveillance program, STELLARWIND, would violate constitutional protections. Drake also raised concerns about massive 9/11 intelligence failures. After lodging individual internal complaints, testifying to Congressional committees, and drafting collective motions, members of the group protested resignations and leaked unclassified information to media. A May 2006 article in The Baltimore Sun (primarily sourced by Drake) detailed the failings of the NSA and Trailblazer.

LEAK: Trump Worker Told FBI About Moving Mar-a-Lago Boxes on Former President’s Orders – Trump Spox Responds

Another day, another leak to the Washington Post.

A Trump employee told the FBI they moved boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago on the former president’s orders, according to the Washington Post.

Apparently only Trump isn’t allowed to take possession of his own presidential records.

Barack Obama was never harassed or accused of violating the Espionage Act for storing highly classified documents at a warehouse.

According to The Post, the claim from Trump’s worker is corroborated by security footage.

Trump’s worker was told to move the boxes after the former president received a subpoena in May for classified documents.

According to WaPo, this worker initially denied handling Trump’s documents, but in the second interview with the feds, they admitted they moved some boxes for Trump.

This unidentified worker is now a key witness in the Mar-a-Lago investigation.

Trump’s spox Taylor Budowich blasted Joe Biden’s corrupt Justice Department in a statement to the Washington Post.

“The Biden administration has weaponized law enforcement and fabricated a Document Hoax in a desperate attempt to retain political power,” Taylor Budowich said in a statement. “Every other President has been given time and deference regarding the administration of documents, as the President has the ultimate authority to categorize records, and what materials should be classified.”

Budowich also accused Joe Biden’s corrupt DOJ of leaking “misleading and false information to partisan allies in the Fake News.”

The Washington Post reported:

A Trump employee has told federal agents about moving boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago at the specific direction of the former president, according to people familiar with the investigation, who say the witness account — combined with security-camera footage — offers key evidence of Donald Trump’s behavior as investigators sought the return of classified material.

The witness description and footage described to The Washington Post offer the most direct account to date of Trump’s actions and instructions leading up to the FBI’s Aug. 8 search of the Florida residence and private club, in which agents were looking for evidence of potential crimes including obstruction, destruction of government records or mishandling classified information.

The people familiar with the investigation said agents have gathered witness accounts indicating that, after Trump advisers received a subpoena in May for any classified documents that remained at Mar-a-Lago, Trump told people to move boxes to his residence at the property. That description of events was corroborated by the security-camera footage, which showed people moving the boxes, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

In the first interview, these people said, the witness denied handling sensitive documents or the boxes that might contain such documents. As they gathered evidence, agents decided to re-interview the witness, and the witness’s story changed dramatically, these people said. In the second interview, the witness described moving boxes at Trump’s request.

Thousands Of US Officials Trade Shares Of Companies They Regulate: WSJ

More than 2,600 executive branch officials have bought and sold shares of companies whose fortunes rise and fall on the policies their agencies enact, a Wall Street Journal investigation has found.

Thousands of officials across the government’s executive branch reported owning or trading stocks that stood to rise or fall with decisions their agencies made, a Wall Street Journal investigation has found.

More than 2,600 officials at agencies from the Commerce Department to the Treasury Department, during both Republican and Democratic administrations, disclosed stock investments in companies while those same companies were lobbying their agencies for favorable policies. That amounts to more than one in five senior federal employees across 50 federal agencies reviewed by the Journal.

A top official at the Environmental Protection Agency reported purchases of oil and gas stocks. The Food and Drug Administration improperly let an official own dozens of food and drug stocks on its no-buy list. A Defense Department official bought stock in a defense company five times before it won new business from the Pentagon.

The Journal obtained and analyzed more than 31,000 financial-disclosure forms for about 12,000 senior career employees, political staff and presidential appointees. The review spans 2016 through 2021 and includes data on about 850,000 financial assets and more than 315,000 trades reported in stocks, bonds and funds by the officials, their spouses or dependent children.

While the government was ramping up scrutiny of big technology companies, more than 1,800 federal officials reported owning or trading at least one of four major tech stocks: Meta Platforms Inc.’s Facebook, Alphabet Inc.’s Google, Apple Inc. and Amazon. com Inc.

TRENDING: Jury Reaches Verdict - Orders Alex Jones to Pay $965 Million Dollars to Sandy Hook Victims

Giraffe Comms Again Today

So it was implied yesterday Danchenko's NYC meeting in July 2016 was with Sergei Millian, but that seems more ambiguous today per Toria Brooke's reporting:

"Danchenko also told Milian that he wanted to meet in New York City because he was ALREADY going to be in New York; negating previous evidence and claims by the defense that Danchenko’s communications about the giraffe at the zoo and "I have a meeting soon" to his wife did not confirm that Danchenko had said he was going to NY [for the purpose of] meeting with Milian."

Based on what Comey said in that 2019 giraffe post (he was spending time with "family"), I'm wondering if Danchenko's giraffe message was a secret way of saying he was meeting with COMEY first, or also. Or at least later came to represent such. Dunno if/why Cornbread would refer to Danchenko in 2019, but this could be…YUGE. A Director personally interfering in an election by meeting with confidential informant types, even after he stood up there exonerating Hilldawg and essentially saying that's NOT what the FBI was trying to do? Oh dear, Jimmy, you might be right and truly fucked now…

I was told [C] before [D]? Maybe it's THINK MIRROR instead kek.

Data wars: Political operatives scrutinize Americans’ digital lives to hunt for voters, donors

The Netflix shows you watch, the books you read and the food you eat are all part of a broad set of data that political operatives use to determine whether you will vote in this year’s midterm elections and give money to their candidates.

Democratic data firm Sterling Data Co. told The Washington Times that it has developed a donor behavior algorithm capable of finding people willing to fund Democratic campaigns regardless of whether they have ever done so before.

“I think most people don’t really understand how their data is being used, and I’m not saying that in a bad way,” said Martin Kurucz, Sterling’s CEO. “Everybody’s data is used for advertising. There’s nobody on this earth whose data isn’t out there.”

Sterling acquires troves of data from brokers such as Experian and Acxiom and reviews hundreds of categories of online behavior by individual potential voters, including their streaming choices and preferences for fiction or nonfiction books.

Mr. Kurucz said he started developing the algorithm while working for Gil Cisneros, a California Democrat in Congress who was struggling to raise money ahead of the 2020 election. After applying the algorithm, he said, Mr. Cisneros’ team saw a spike in dollars raised per hour their candidate spent on the phone.

Mr. Cisneros lost the election, but the technology drew the interest of other Democratic candidates. Mr. Kurucz turned the work into a business with the help of other Democratic operatives.

His team has worked for more than 1,000 Democratic clients this cycle, including campaigns, committees and nonprofits. Clients include John Fetterman, the Democratic Senate nominee in Pennsylvania, and Beto O’Rourke, the Democratic challenger in the Texas governor’s race.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee paid Sterling’s data team $20,000 in July, according to Federal Election Commission records.

Democratic candidates are not singularly reliant on aligned firms like Sterling to leverage people’s data for dollars and voter turnout. Mr. O’Rourke’s team has taken advantage of Meta’s tools for Facebook and Instagram to target ads to specific Texans.

During a 30-day period ending Oct. 9, the Meta Ad Library shows Mr. O’Rourke used the tools to exclude people interested in NASCAR and deer hunting from seeing his ads. Instead, he pushed the ads to those interested in the television show “Parks and Recreation,” the fast-food restaurant Whataburger, consumers of soy milk and almond milk, and people interested in the category “latte,” among other things.

There is a difference between freedom and doing whatever you want.

If you have time to complain about your post being erased…

Why your post was erased, reflect on your own words and actions.

Why don't you do your best to leave the world with valid information?

I definitely can't complain when I think about the many attacks and the hard work of the people who are responding to them. The people who run this place are the reason we are able to use it. When will you realize that you yourself have contributed to the devil by forgetting to be grateful?

Even if we purge the pedophiles, human traffickers, and the evil elites.

If we don't improve our own hearts, won't the world truly be a better place?

I know I sound like a bigot, but I myself fail and learn every day here.

Thanks again, Baker, anons and all.

COVID-19 nasal spray fails in trial by Oxford University and AstraZeneca

The drive to develop a nasal spray against COVID-19 infection suffered a setback Tuesday after AstraZeneca and Oxford University said a trial produced disappointing results.

Only a “minority of participants” produced an antibody response in their nasal passages and protection was generally weaker than standard COVID-19 shots developed by Oxford researchers and the drugmaker, the trial found.

The U.K. trial involved 30 unvaccinated persons and 12 volunteers who received a regular two-dose vaccine.

“The nasal spray did not perform as well in this study as we had hoped,” said Sandy Douglas, chief investigator of the trial at Oxford University’s Jenner Institute. “We believe that delivery of vaccines to the nose and lungs remains a promising approach, but this study suggests there are likely to be challenges in making nasal sprays a reliable option.”

Global health authorities say a nasal spray would be an optimal approach because it is far easier to administer than a shot and might thwart the virus where it enters the body and combat transmission. The available intramuscular vaccines for COVID-19 generally thwart severe disease but haven’t stopped infection and transmission outright.

Regulators in India recently approved a spray from Bharat Biotech, and China’s CanSino Biologics Inc. authorized a vaccine given with a nebulizer.

CanSino claims its spray is effective against transmission while Bharat hasn’t published its trial data, according to Reuters.

The setback at Oxford suggests Western nations will have to wait a bit longer for new options, as researchers search for new approaches.

“Although the vaccine and delivery device combination in this study did not warrant further exploration, optimization of this vaccine and other candidates for mucosal delivery remains a key opportunity for transmission-blocking vaccines,” results published in The Lancet medical journal said.

SpaceX books another ride for a millionaire around the moon

SpaceX said Wednesday that it has booked yet another mission around the moon for a wealthy thrill-seeker on its forthcoming Starship spacecraft.

CNN — SpaceX said Wednesday that it has booked yet another mission around the moon for a wealthy thrill-seeker on its forthcoming Starship spacecraft.

Dennis Tito, a US millionaire who previously paid his way to the International Space Station in 2001, and his wife, Akiko, plan to take a lunar expedition that will last roughly a week, according to SpaceX.

The mission will come only after SpaceX fulfills its commitment to launch billionaire payments processing CEO Jared Isaacman on the first commercial human spaceflight mission on Starship, a rocket and spacecraft system that is still under development at SpaceX facilities in South Texas. Starship is awaiting approval from federal regulators to make its first uncrewed orbital test flight.

SpaceX will also carry out its first trip around the moon for billionaire fashion mogul Yusaku Maezawa, a mission announced years ago, before Tito's trip, according to a press release.

Tito, who is 82, became the first person ever to pay his way to space 21 years ago when he booked a ride with a company called Space Adventures. That company booked a handful of rides to space by purchasing seats aboard Russian Soyuz spacecraft in the early 2000s.

Now, commercial space companies, including SpaceX, are looking to follow up on those earliest days of space tourism by selling seats aboard newly developed, US-made spacecraft.

It's not clear when the first crewed Starship mission will take off, however. That spacecraft is expected to be the follow-up to the capsule called Crew Dragon that SpaceX designed and built to carry NASA astronauts to and from ISS. The company has already launched private customers, including Isaacman, aboard that vehicle.

But Starship is far bigger than anything that SpaceX — or any other rocket developer — has ever built. It's expected to have more thrust than both NASA's Saturn V rocket, which powered the moon landings of the mid-20th century, and the space agency's new moon rocket, called SLS. The company has long billed it as the vehicle that could one day put humans on Mars for the first time, and NASA has reserved the vehicle to return astronauts to the lunar surface later this decade.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has, however, said he plans to carry out Starship test launches and missions with no crew — only satellites — before putting people on board.

Before that can happen, the Federal Aviation Administration, which licenses commercial rocket launches, must give the company approval.

When reached by email Wednesday morning, an FAA spokesperson said only that the agency will "make a license determination only after SpaceX provides all outstanding information and the agency can fully analyze it."

The Igor Danchenko Trial - Day 2

FBI Analyst reveals he is the "subject" of an investigation

Durham presents new evidence on day 2 of Danchenko trial - POLITICO

Our article on the first day of the Igor Danchenko trial cut off during the testimony of FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten and his discussion of the FBI’s interviews of Danchenko, which started in January 2017.

We’ll resume there – with Special Counsel John Durham’s questions about Danchenko’s purported 10 to 15 minute call with Belarusian businessman Sergei Millian.

Q Just to get everybody back on track, the first day you had said that he had sent two emails, no response, and then got an anonymous call from somebody speaking with a Russian accent and it was male, correct?

A That is correct.

Q Do you recall, sir – with respect to what it is that Mr. Danchenko said, did he say what kind of telephone facility he received the call on, that is, a hard line? A cell phone? Do you recall?

A My recollection is he said a call.

What did Millian purportedly tell Danchenko during that call? According to Auten:

He had talked about a relationship between – with the Trump campaign and Russia and issues involving, I think, kind of whether or not there was any relationship and a kind of – I don't think he used the term "well-developed conspiracy" in that, but it was along those lines.

Auten was then asked about the documents that Danchenko provided to the FBI. Auten testified that he was provided a single e-mail chain. In fact, there were other e-mails that “Mr. Danchenko had sent to Mr. Millian” that Auten hadn’t seen up until his preparation for trial. (The importance being Danchenko’s concealment from the FBI.)

The Reactionary is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Moving on, Durham asked Auten about a LinkedIn message sent from Danchenko to Millian. This e-message proposed a call or a meeting in Washington or New York:

Danchenko’s request for a “call” is particularly important since it was made after he supposedly received that 10 to 15 minute call from someone he thought was Millian. This supports the prosecution’s theory of the case: the call from Millian to Danchenko never happened. Danchenko invented the call so that he could provide cover for his real source (Democrat Charles Dolan).

Durham then introduced an e-mail from Millian to an acquaintance, sent five days after Danchenko reached out. Here it is in full:

Anonymous ID: 7ed23c Oct. 12, 2022, 10:31 p.m. No.17692783   🗄️.is 🔗kun   >>2791

>>17692782

Durham then used that e-mail to focus on the FBI’s lack of effort to corroborate Danchenko’s claim about Millian. FBI Analyst Auten admitted he hadn’t seen that e-mail until recently, and that the FBI didn’t even check Millian’s travel records during that period of time.

Q Now, with regard to that email from Millian to Zloderev, you didn't have occasion to see that prior to being shown this document recently?

A No.

Q With regard to Millian saying that on Friday he's returning from Asia and the like, do you know whether you or other members of your group had ever retrieved Millian's travel records to see if he was even in the United States on – in the latter part of July 2016?

A I don't recall that.

Q Would it surprise you to learn that he wasn't even in the United States?

A I mean, he says he's in Asia.

Continuing with the theme of purposeful FBI incompetence, Durham asked Auten if the FBI had translated communications between Danchenko and an associate of Millian. These documents were provided to the FBI by Danchenko in January 2017. Auten responded “I’m not aware if it was translated.”

Auten was also asked about other Danchenko communications with associates of Millian. There were introduced to establish that Danchenko never received that mysterious call. A key excerpt:

Auten and the FBI, however, chose to remain ignorant and never obtained these communications. Durham had Auten run down the reasons why they would have been important:

Q Yesterday you told the jury that in meeting with Mr. Danchenko, there were two things that you were interested in, correct?

A Correct.

Q One of them was corroboration of information in the dossier?

A Correct.

Q And the second was sources of information?

A Correct.

Q Would those have been significant to you?

A Yes.

Q Why would they have been significant to you?

A It would help us to better understand exactly how the course of information went that was in the reports themselves.

Q Would it have been of any import to you to know in evaluating whether an anonymous call had come in to see the content of the emails from July 21st and then August 18th concerning Mr. Millian not having responded?

A Yes. I mean, all of those emails would be very helpful to understanding the full extent of communications between the parties.

Q Because if the written record in the defendant's own words was that he never responded, wouldn't that be of assistance in evaluating his reliability concerning whether or not he had gotten this call he supposedly had gotten?

A It would be helpful, yes.

Durham continued pressing Auten about why analyzing these communications would have been important. There was this key exchange on whether these e-mails, which Auten said were “significant,” could have influenced the FBI. Pay attention – it’s Auten hedging when confronted with his own failures.

Q Would it have the capacity or the ability to have influenced steps taken or not taken by the FBI?

A Possibly, yes.

Q Possibly?

A Well, again, I'm an analyst, not an investigator. So in that sense, it would be very helpful from an analytical side to understand the full extent of communications between the parties.

Direct examination then moved on to Auten’s knowledge of Charles Dolan. (Background on Dolan here.) During Auten’s overseas interview with Christopher Steele in October 2016, Dolan’s name had come up:

Q And did you tell the jury yesterday that separate and apart from sources, you had gotten three names from Mr. Steele as to persons who might be knowledgeable?

A Yes.

Q Was Charles Dolan one of those names?

A Yes.

However, from October 2016 through January 2017, the FBI hadn’t put together – or, hadn’t properly investigated – whether Dolan was a source for information in the Steele Dossier. Then there’s this remarkable admission from Auten. Although they were interested in Dolan, they didn’t raise this issue with Danchenko.

Q By January of 2017, do you recall what information the bureau was interested in relating to Mr. Dolan?

A From my recollection, we had done some preliminary looking, and it was at that stage – I don't recall. There was a lot being done.

Q Okay. So my next question, then, to your recollection, did you or Mr. Somma raise Mr. Dolan's name with Mr. Danchenko?

A Not to my recollection, no.

Durham also asked Auten about Danchenko’s lack of transparency about using Dolan as a source. Danchenko never offered Dolan’s name.

Q Tell the jurors what your recollection is in that regard.

A My recollection is asking if there were any additional individuals that we haven't talked about in this interview that would be sources of information for the dossier.

Q And is that clear in your mind?

A Yes. I documented it in the EC.

Q No doubt that you were asking Mr. Danchenko if there were any other sources you can tell us about, correct?

A That's my recollection.

Q Charles Dolan's name was not brought up?

A No.

From there, a series of e-mails between Dolan and Danchenko were presented to Auten. These e-mails showed Danchenko begging Dolan for information on the Trump campaign, and Dolan obliging. Auten hadn’t been given these e-mails by Danchenko. And they were significant, as they showed the flow of information and how Danchenko thought his and and Dolan’s interests converged - because they both were assisting, in their own way, the Democrat candidate for President.

Auten then discussed his time with Special Counsel Mueller’s team.

Q And then when Crossfire Hurricane transitioned into Director Mueller's inquiry, did you remain with the project, or did you go elsewhere?

A No. I remained and went with Special Counsel Mueller.

Q In that connection, at any point in time after January 2017, whether you were part of the Crossfire Hurricane group or had evolved into Mr. Mueller's inquiry, did you continue to be involved personally in matters relating to Mr. Danchenko and his sources?

A Yes.

However, one name that was provided by Danchenko was that of Olga Galkina. Auten and others had gone to interview Galkina in Cyprus in August 2017 – during Auten’s time with Special Counsel Mueller.

After that interview, Auten passed questions on to FBI Agent Kevin Helson, who had become Danchenko’s handler, after Danchenko was made to be a confidential human source. (Convoluted, I know.) Specifically, those questions were about Charles Dolan.

Q And do you recall with respect to the subject matter of the question or questions that you asked Mr. Helson to pose to the defendant, what were those about?

A Those were about – I think there were questions about Mr. Dolan. I believe there were questions about other aspects of things that Ms. Galkina had talked about that we wanted clarification on.

Q With respect to the questions that you asked Mr. Helson to ask of Mr. Danchenko, to your knowledge, are those questions then put to Mr. Danchenko?

A That is my understanding.

Unfortunately, Auten didn’t know the responses to those questions. Agent Helson, whom we expect to testify, might have that information.

Cross-Examination by Danchenko’s Attorneys

The cross-examination – our summary of which will be brief – started with Auten’s previous statements to the Inspector General about Danchenko. During the IG’s investigation, Auten had given “a number of positive statements regarding Mr. Danchenko.” He had also made positive statements to Congress about Danchenko – testimony Auten still stands by (if only because he’s dug himself into a hole):

"I believe the primary sub-source was being truthful about who his sub-sources were. I don't think he was fabricating sub-sources."

However, after Durham was appointed, Auten became – and apparently remains – a subject of the investigation:

Danchenko’s defense was effective when asking about Auten’s impression of Danchenko at the time of the interview. Auten thought Danchenko was “trying to help.” And Auten admitted that he and Stephen Somma didn’t necessarily want to conduct a thorough interview of Danchenko at the time, thus explaining why they didn’t demand documents or ask about every allegation in the Steele Dossier. They also laid the groundwork for the defense that Dolan wasn’t necessarily a “source” for Danchenko, in that Dolan relied on some open source articles when relaying information on the Trump campaign.

The defense also spent a good deal of time discussing Millian’s various phone numbers and the possibility that he (or the person Danchenko “thought” was Millian) used an App like Skype, WhatsApp, Wickr, or Telegram to contact Danchenko. The flaw? Danchenko’s e-mails to Millian requesting to speak over the phone or meet – after the alleged call.

Redirect by Durham

Durham again focused on Auten and the Crossfire Hurricane Team’s efforts to corroborate Danchenko’s statements. Auten’s testimony was an admission of how little they did, ignoring both travel records and phone records.

There were further details on Auten being a “subject” of an “inquiry.” The investigation into Auten – who is a subject, not a target – has to do with the Danchenko matter and also Crossfire Hurricane and the Carter Page FISAs:

Durham also raised a good point about the believability of Millian, a vocal Trump supporter, calling Danchenko to provide insider dirt:

Q. So would you find it peculiar that somebody who had never spoken to Millian, Millian never spoken to him, would be telling somebody he doesn't know about a, quote, well-developed conspiracy of cooperation, between The Trump Organization and Russian leadership?

A. I mean, I would say that is peculiar, yes.

Q. That is very peculiar, right?

A. Yes.

Q. Almost unbelievable, wouldn't you say?

A. I don't know if I would say "unbelievable," but I would say "peculiar."

Things got testy towards the end of Auten’s testimony, indicating Durham’s general irritation with Auten’s conduct in Crossfire Hurrican and his waning patience with Auten as a witness.

Q. Right. So when he – Mr. Danchenko told the FBI he received this call from somebody he believed to be Millian, isn't it, in fact, true that you took that to mean that that information from the report had come from Millian based on what the defendant told you?

A. No. I think we believed at the time that we weren't clear and that we would have other opportunities to talk to him about that as well.

Q. Okay. So what you are telling this jury is that you all then took information from the affidavit or from the dossier report and put it in an application to a FISC and you thought – . . . Is that what you’re telling the jury?

A. Again, as an analyst, I am not involved in putting together the application in a FISA.

It continued – with Durham straight-up telling Auten he was going to be suspended by the FBI. (Leading us to believe any charges against Auten are unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely.)

>>17692782

Then Durham’s near-mocking of Auten’s investigative decisions.

Q. And is there some particular reason why experienced FBI personnel wouldn't go and look to see what the phone records reflected?

A. Again, you would have to talk to somebody that was in the investigative side of things. I as an analyst, I can't I can't ask for phone records. That has to be –

Q. You want this jury to believe that analysts don't participate in investigative decisionmaking?

A. Analysts participate, but analysts aren't the ones that are going to make the decision to go out and actually get phone records or obtain NSLs or the like.

Q. Can you think of any good reason – not any reason, but any good reason not to have gotten those records and analyzed them?

A. No.

Q. Do you believe whether – with respect to this information, if people were much too ready, willing, and able just to accept it?

A. I don't know if I would articulate it that way.

Q. Well, you didn't have any corroborative evidence, correct?

A. Correct.

That about wraps it up with Auten – and with the second day of trial.

The next witness? Tomorrow starts with Charles Dolan.
