Because you have chosen the most difficult way to authenticate. If you install the browser version of google authenticator then you don't have to keep repeating these steps.

 

You click the 'get code' link and copy the code generated as I have highlited, then you enter it into google auth ONCE and no need to do it again unless you uninstall the authenticator.

 

After that simple setup then you just click the authenticator widget in the browser, click the current code to copy and paste it into the TOTP field and post.

 

So after one time setup, all that's needed is to click the wiget, copy the code, and paste into the TOTP field to post, no need to keep clicking the 'get code' button that's required if you use the web based authentigator, making it more difficult and confusing to use.

DDOS is pretty effective at making the authentigator code time out before the post completes.
