Example:

The first functioning lightbulb - built by Edison -

is still running in a fire-department (I think in SF) with a webcam on it.

Yet we get lightbulbs sold that break after 10k - 50k hours so they can sell us moar.

Advertisers always advertise for qualities in products which lack exactly those qualities.

 

Build smt that lasts for generations and you do not need advertisement.
