To offer a brief commentary here, the seemingly prevailing idea here is that Tether has yet to submit to the same economic overlords that insisted USDC has an off switch (or at least a local one). In essence, the suggestion is that Tether hasn't bended knee, leading it to be compromised. Due to this, Tether is FUDed in every cycle, just like we get "China has banned crypto again" every cycle, endless diatribes about how "crypto = bad for environment" even when El Salvador uses geothermal, we get "only pedophiles and drug dealers use the bitcoins" and other retarded shit like this.
Considering we've heard the same rumors about Tether being backed by nothing for about five years now, we can probably assume the propositions mentioned before are on to something, especially since this just feels opportunistic.
