Idk, but I am fascinated by a micro nation in my home state.

What I find so fascinating is that the internal conflict between 2 "sides" (Union and Confederacy) was apparently resolved in this case by one man having the ingenuity to basically say his county was not standing up for or against either side but to defend themselves (my interpretation, which could very well be inaccurate.)
There really isn't too much of a record to support the "Kingdom of Callaway" as an independent state at this time. However, in the 20th century some "spoopy" things happened in the County seat of Fulton which make me think the place has some significance that is not very openly obvious.
Know where Winston Churchill gave his "Iron Curtain" speech? Fulton Missouri.
Check out the history of the Churchill Memorial on the Westminster College campus in Fulton:

The Church is about 800- 900 years old, I think. It was destroyed in 1666 (!) and then rebuilt by Christopher Wren. It was again destroyed in the blitz and miraculously (my take) transported to Fulton where it was rebuilt like a giant jig-saw puzzle.
Over the years many world dignitaries have visited Fulton including Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill and even Gorbachev.
The first wedding in the Church of St. Mary Aldermanbury was a Robinett wedding and so the family genealogical society is located there:

Guess what Joe Biden's middle name is.
