I have a lot of questions about how we got here. As a proud American with a pretty good level of understanding: I know that I don't know shit because the information simply isn't available.
We live on a mountain of lies, and outside of maintaining survival of my household for the duration of this war, my only other hope is to get to know what really happened since Abe went to the theater.
I tend to believe a lot of hints at those answers are in the DOD Law of War manual, particularly the part describing the care and feeding of occupied populations.
