In 2029, the Yutani Corporation filed a lawsuit against Weyland over a patent dispute with the David synthetic series. Weyland Corp won the lawsuit, securing its investments and shareholders. Due to its combined value of various patents, the company incorporated a higher fair market valuation than any other company in history once it was created.

Weyland Corp would go on to terraform the first functional and breathable atmosphere on GJ 667Cc, paving way for further terraforming on other planets, one of which would eventually be Acheron (LV-426).
