I encountered German NAZI's in Bamberg in the 90's. Desert Shield had just started and my unit stayed behind, supposedly "locked down". Well nothing was going to prevent me from German Beer so I and a buddy bailed out the window of our barraks. Went downtown to our usual haunts and they were full of skinheads. Some chick asks me for a smoke and I go off (Not cool, weird regulations on giving Germans controlled taxed stuff) boyfriend comes at me and Dude and I are fighting the whole bar. Anyway. Cops (Polezei) show up with 3 dogs. Dogs are biting the fuck out of the whole bar and Dude and I escape through a door to a porno place in the basement. Another door goes up to a toy store that is closed. We go in. head for the front door and the cops are everywhere. Try the handle and it opens. We walk out like our shit don't stink and start beating feat for home. Get stopped. Cuffed and the MP's are called. Fortunately I knew the MP's. Get piled into a van as we watch the scene unfold and like something out of a sci-fi movie. Next day at breakfast MP dude eats with me. Tells me how they busted up one of the most wanted NAZI groups in the area last night.
Not really. We were taken in for being out. I did 15 days extra duty and lost 1/2 my paycheck for a month for this.
They were pussies. We fucked them up. Emerged unscathed enough to get out of it. The dogs did most of the damage. About 3 minutes between the first punch and the arrival of the dogs. I never even finished my beer and it was months before I had anything but a Michelobe or a Budweiser.
Some of us suffered during desert storm more than most and I didn't even get a combat patch.
