Ratio’d | Remember this, Trudeau?

https://tnc.news/2023/01/30/ratiod-remember-this2/

Last year, thousands of Canadians peacefully protested the government’s authoritarian mandates and restrictions – the Freedom Convoy marked its one year anniversary over the weekend. The protest garnered international attention, resulted in the end of several Covid measures and ultimately ended with the invocation of the never-before-used Emergencies Act.

For many Ottawa elites, seeing those freedom-loving patriots once again in the nation’s capital was just too much to handle – including for Canada’s prime minister.

On this week’s episode of Ratio’d, Harrison Faulkner takes a look at Convoy reunion highlights from across the country and the legacy media’s hilarious coverage of the gathering in Ottawa.

EXCLUSIVE: Documents reveal feds considered carbon tax-like rule for farm fertilizers

https://tnc.news/2023/01/30/considered-fertilizer-tax/

This is part 1 of the Fertilizer Files, a 3-part series on what internal government documents show about the Trudeau Liberals’ push to reduce fertilizer emissions

The federal Liberal government has considered forcing a carbon tax-like “regulatory backstop” onto farmers should voluntary agreements to reduce fertilizer emissions not meet Ottawa’s arbitrary standards – and it could see crop production across the country drastically decline.

The Liberals have been pulling out all the stops in recent months as part of their ongoing efforts to reduce emissions in the name of fighting climate change. Carbon taxes, plastic bag bans and electric vehicle sales rules are just some of their initiatives, but they’ve also set their sights on emissions from fertilizer use by farmers.

The feds maintain that fertilizer targets will remain voluntary and be based on individually-crafted agreements with farmers and industry leaders. However, a Jul. 16, 2021, discussion paper acquired by True North from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada via an access to information request shows the government floating a federal backstop as a “policy option” should all else fail. Coutts blockade anniversary demonstration draws heavy RCMP presence

https://www.rebelnews.com/coutts_blockade_anniversary_demonstration_draws_heavy_rcmp_presence

After the slow roll, many gathered for a BBQ fundraiser event for four individuals who were charged with conspiracy during the blockade.

On January 28, a slow roll convoy returned to Coutts to commemorate the 18-day protests of last year. From January 29 to February 14, 2022, Alberta’s international border — with the United States — was blockaded as part of a national decentralized peaceful movement against COVID health measures and vaccine mandates.

This demonstration saw the lifting of COVID restrictions in Alberta and catalyzed the resignation of former premier Jason Kenney.

To find out more about the Coutts blockade and to support the three alleged ‘key participants’ of this peaceful event, go to TruckerDefenceFund.ca.

After the slow roll, many gathered for a BBQ fundraiser event for four individuals who were charged with conspiracy during the blockade. These four men are all approaching a year in prison over this charge before even being convicted of a crime, as they have been denied bail ever since their arrest.

Many at this event saw this as concerning, highlighting the importance of the presumption of innocence here in Canada.

Historical Crimes against First Nations: Residential Schools and the Trudeau Government

https://www.globalresearch.ca/residential-schools-other-mistakes/5806712

The Williams Lake First Nation of British Columbia has announced discovery of another 66 sites which are possibly the graves of children on land of the St. Joseph Mission Residential School which closed in 1981. 93 suspected burial sites were previously announced. Control of the school passed from the Catholic Mission to the federal government in 1969. Approximately two thousand “anomalies” or possible graves have been detected by earth scanning instruments. Historical records indicated the deaths of only sixteen of the attending children. Geophysical analysis has been applied to 34 hectares so far of the 782 hectares to be assessed.

In response to a class action suit brought by 325 First Nations, the Trudeau government (awaiting court approval) has awarded a 2.8 billion dollar settlement, for a Trust which will attempt to repair damages caused by residential schooling. Funding to recompense individual damages was previously provided under the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement, approved by all parties in 2006 and Canada’s courts in 2007, costing the government $1.9 billion. An additional 27 million dollars was provided in 2021 to investigate unmarked graves.

There’s still a problem with this way of proceeding with historical crimes that have contravened the Convention on Genocide. Paying off damaged survivors of a genocide without addressing through the law the atrocities committed, suggests pay-offs as a business expense for the worst crimes known to humankind. But genocide isn’t simply an intentional crime against in this case Indigenous people, it’s a crime against society. As a crime against humanity, its acts are not acceptable which society states by applying its legal system. Most of those directly responsible for the crimes of residential schools have passed away. Jordan Peterson talks woke schools, assisted suicide at Ottawa event

https://tnc.news/2023/01/31/peterson-ottawa/

Renowned Canadian author and psychologist Jordan Peterson touched on woke schools and assisted suicide during his Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life tour stop in Ottawa Monday night.

“I don’t think there is a more dire sin than corrupting children… maybe the only more egregious error is swearing to do nothing but violate your own conscience, you know, out of spite and bitterness,” the renowned personality said of the woke agenda in the classroom.

“You’re gonna have to take your blows to push back against enforced and mandatory idle worship, but that’s a lot easier battle than losing control of your own soul,” Peterson said of teachers pushing back against that agenda.

Despite attempts by activists and an Ottawa city councillor to cancel the event, it went ahead peacefully and without protest. Thousands of people descended onto the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa’s Kanata suburb to listen to Peterson, which began with a live musical performance by his son Julian and a speech by his wife Tammy.
