The Federal Court of Canada has granted Alberta intervenor status in six ongoing lawsuits against the Liberal government’s firearms ban.

In September, Justice Minister and Attorney General Tyler Shandro announced that Alberta would seek to intervene in ongoing challenges of Ottawa’s gun ban.

The Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights (CCFR), the lead case of all challenges, said Alberta has been leading the fight to ensure Ottawa respects property rights.

“The CCFR welcomes Alberta to our court challenge against the (order in council) gun ban,” spokesperson Tracey Wilson told True North.

Canadian Heritage recently announced a new funding project intended to strengthen Canadians’ resiliency to what they describe as “harmful online disinformation.”

1.2 million dollars will be poured into 16 research projects to “help to counter and educate about online harms, misinformation and disinformation,” as per the release.

It’s part of funding being provided by the Digital Citizen Contribution Program (DCCP) which is part of the Canadian Heritages’ Digital Citizen Initiative (DCI).

The DCI apparently supports “democracy and social cohesion in Canada by enhancing and/or supporting efforts to counter online disinformation and other online harms and threats.”

The DCI will receive a total investment of $31 million over four years.

Randy Bachman announced the death of his brother and bandmate in a social media post.

New Musical Express (NME) reports Robbie founded the band alongside Randy, their brother Tim Bachman and bassist Fred Turner in Winnipeg, Canada, in the early 1970s.

They first went public releasing a self-titled debut album and follow-up ‘Bachman-Turner Overdrive II’ both in 1973.

After a third album ‘Not Fragile’ (1974) featured their biggest hit – ‘You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet’ – Randy eventually quit the band in 1977. The band continued with new vocalist Jim Clench, before disbanding in 1980, NME chronicles.

One of the goals under the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 plan is Sustainable Development Goal 7 (“SDG7”).

We are told that the whole point of “sustainable development” is to mitigate the problems that will supposedly be caused by humanity’s greenhouse gas emissions (“GHG”) emissions.

This fairy tale has left most people labouring under the illusion that SDG7 energy transition, and the variations on the associated “net zero” policy commitment, will reduce CO2 emissions. That assumption is wrong.

Target 7.2 of SDG7 commits the world to substantially increase the use of renewable energy in the global “energy mix.” It has two big strikes against it. For one, it ignores the monumental risks involved. For another, it does not say nor even imply that developed nations or multinational energy corporations – the so-called “big polluters” – need to necessarily reduce their GHG emissions – they can trade carbon credits.

By trading carbon credits and creating a scarcity of materials, which Big Business also cashes in on, the super-rich sees SDG7 as a method to enrich themselves at the cost of and to the detriment of the poor.
