The Natural Born Slave
I wear my favorite T-shirt, "Born Free" it says in bold print with old glory waving in the background as I head to the DMV to, once again, stand in line to pay the government for permission to drive to work so as I can make a living. After several hours and much abuse from "public servants" I head out to my next stop. To again wait in line to pay for permission from the government to fish, hunt and forage for food. Such a sunny day and I adjust my ball cap which proudly displays in bold lettering "proud American" as I pass by the Planned Parenthood and the local LBGTQ+ and ask myself, I wonder if I have enough money saved to get permission from the government to start up a business. I shall count those green pieces of paper with different names and faces and numbers printed on them to see if I have enough yet.
