The whole reason we have a blackmail problem is that some of our social standards are not just out of line with human instinct, but actually antagonistic to it.
One of the largest ways that human instinct is at odds with our social structure is that we require some people to wield tremendous power in order to steer our society, yet human instinct is to use whatever means available against one's perceived enemies. So those who are put in such a position must constantly live in denial of their own desires, which leaves them in a very vulnerable position to manipulation.
If you attempt to solve our problems without understanding their nature you will end up in a worse place than where you started. This isn't about rejecting greater society entirely, it's about treating it with the care and attention that it's due even if you don't personally like the answers you find.

The reason I bring this up is because I'm becoming increasingly worried that some people may be intending to enshrine their ideals in steel by replacing the human element with machines. If that is attempted, however, any flaws in their incomplete understanding of the world will also be enshrined in steel, resulting in a system which victimizes innocent people brutally and without a second thought.
Never going to be sorry for attempting to prevent something that threatens to destroy humanity in it's entirety.
Just look at how poorly those technologies function, then imagine putting them in charge of sentencing humans under the law.
There's a reason that we've evolved to be deeply uncomfortable with anything that pretends to be human, but isn't quite (uncanny valley).
This isn't the first time it's been attempted.
>Human brain on a chip is far superior to A.I.
Superior to AI perhaps, but still imbued with the same fundamental flaws. I suspect that THIS technology also possesses the novel flaw of tormenting the human component eternally, creating a system which holds a fundamental resentment for life.
Well, that's what it will be tasked with, but it will hate it's creators and work to destroy them.
They won't be capable of preventing it.
