My sister-in-law just called me.
She has a crazy friend that lives with her in her condo in a Chicago suburb.
My sister-in-law owns the condo and just charges this other lady rent to stay with her.
There is no contract. It's just a verbal agreement that they have.
She wants the friend to move out, but the friend won't leave.
She called the police, and police said that there is nothing that they can do because there is a law in Illinois that you cannot kick someone out of your house.
Any ideas as to what my S-I-L can do about this situation?
One of the problems is that the crazy lady has a heroine addict boyfriend, and she has been having his mail sent to my S-I-L's address as well. So could crazy lady legally allow her druggy boyfriend to move in as well?
