I worked in the Minuteman system while in the USAF. Those combat crews are nowhere near the missiles in the silos. Each launch facility controls 10 missiles, that are scattered around it in the surrounding countryside, sometimes over several hundred square miles. Having cancer myself, my bet is on incidental exposure from intermittent exposure to transported warheads within the base proper.
