>their chickens aren't laying eggs.

Anon watched Walker Family Farms on youtube today over this specific issue. They led with a title about why they don't buy chicken feed from Tractor Supply $TSCO any longer.

Walker says the feed bags shrunk fro 50 to 40lb and the price is close to the same. The feed there contains 15% protein.

They changed feed, still only getting 2-3 eggs day, around 20 chickens, give or take (coyotes)

Walker gave away a problematic rooster and the new owner has an abundance of eggs.

The difference: Light. The chickens don't realize it's winter because of the amount of "sunlight" hours and they're laying like crazy. Using TSCO feed too.

Chickens don't lay in winter like in the summer because the days are shorter. Anon is no farmer so all of the information is new but these people are very experienced in the ways of yard birds. The Walkers have some chickens that lay easter egg colored eggs, forget what kind. Not fryers obv. kek
