Italy Hit With Widespread Internet Outage After "International Interconnection Problem"

Reuters confirmed "internet outages and glitches" across Italy on Sunday. The problem appears to be an "international link."

"An international interconnection problem impacting the service at the national level was detected. Analyses are underway to resolve the problem," a Telecom Italia (TIM) spokesperson said.

UN Looking To Push Religious Communities To ‘Fully Comply’ With LGBTQ Agenda

The United Nations is set to release a report at its annual Human Rights Council meeting in June to discuss the “perceived contradictions” between religious freedom and sexual orientation and gender identity.

Respondents were asked whether or not any religious beliefs and LGBT+ rights were “mutually exclusive,” to point out policies that protect discriminatory religious practices and about the extent to which religious individuals have the right to a conscientious objection.

“My biggest concern is the premise of the report which seems to suggest that freedom of religion and rights based on sexual orientation are the same,” Grace Melton, senior associate in the Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Life, Religion, and Family at the Heritage Foundation, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The United Nations is releasing a report in June regarding the “perceived contradictions” between religious freedom and sexual orientation and gender identity, or SOGI, laws and is looking to push governments to “fully comply with their obligations under international human rights law to protect and empower LGBT+ persons,” according to a U.N. announcement.

The U.N. closed a call for LGBT+ and religious freedom organizations to submit input to the report earlier this month and is scheduled to introduce its findings at the 53rd Human Rights Council meeting in June, according to the announcement. The announcement explains that while there are “perceived contradictions” between the LGBT+ community and religious freedom, the report aims to find ways to “protect LGBT+ persons’ access to faith and spirituality” while also indicating that religious beliefs that would contradict this are not “justified” under the protection of human rights.

“Religious and spiritual narratives have also historically been used to promote, enable, and condone institutional and personal violence and discrimination against individuals based on sexual orientation or gender identity (real or presumed); repress sexual and gender diversity; and promote cis-gendered and heteronormative norms of sexual orientation and gender identity,” the announcement read. “These practices cannot be justified under the rubric of Freedom of Religious Beliefs, or indeed any other human right, to circumvent and defeat the rights of marginalized populations.”

The person in charge of the special report is Victor Madrigal-Borloz, an expert on protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and a professor at Harvard Law School. Madrigal-Borloz has long been an LGBTQ advocate and recently welcomed Pope Francis’ declaration that homosexuality is “not a crime,” despite the pontiff’s further clarification that in religious circles it is still considered sinful.

Western Powers ‘Blocked’ Ceasefire Early in Ukraine War: Former Israeli Prime Minister

Naftali Bennett, the Prime Minister of Israel towards the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine last year, says the West “blocked” a ceasefire he was helping to broker early in the war.

Bennett, who was prime minister and then alternate prime minister in Israel during a confusing period of coalition politics prior to the return of Benjamin Netanyahu as head of government in December, said that “there was a good chance of reaching a ceasefire” before the Western powers “curbed” negotiations in a wide-ranging interview uploaded to YouTube.

Israel is one of a number of states traditionally seen as being aligned with the West, along with the likes of India and Turkey, which have played little or no part in efforts to support Ukraine militarily or engage in the sanctions war with Russia, with Bennett explaining that while “the Americans expect… that we all rally for Ukraine” this would not necessarily have been in Israel’s interests.

By way of example, Bennett cited Israeli interests in Syria, where “once or twice a week we attack the Iranian presence… Russia, the superpower, has the S-300 there, and if they press the button Israeli pilots will fall.”

“Who will save them? Biden? Zelensky? It [would have been] my problem,” he said, having earlier suggested that he had “made sure that Israel would have free rein in Syria” during his first in-person meeting with President Vladimir Putin — an ally of the Syrian and Iranian governments — prior the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“[M]y focus is on Israel’s interests… My people,” Bennett said, explaining why he chose to position himself as a more non-aligned mediator between Putin and Zelensky after the outbreak of hostilities — and claiming that, without Western interference, his efforts might have succeeded.

Irish President Attacks Anti-Mass Migration Protesters for ‘Sowing Hate’

The leftist President of Ireland has attacked anti-mass migration protesters in the country, accusing them of “sowing hate”.

Michael D. Higgins, the President of Ireland, has lashed out at the growing number of anti-mass migration protests taking place in the country, attacking those attending the demonstrations for “sowing hate”.

A hardline leftist, Higgins has in the past vocally attacked the takeover of Twitter by the relatively pro-free speech Elon Musk, as well as linking massacres in Africa at the hands of Muslim extremists to climate change rather than radical Islam.

According to a report by the Irish Independent, the president attacked those attending the protests — which have cropped up across the country in response to the tens of thousands of arrivals that have entered the country over the last twelve months — as “building fear”.

“These people who are going around whipping people up and so forth, you didn’t see them previously making a case for housing, or for women’s rights, or for equal rights of any kind,” the President reportedly alleged, denouncing many demonstrators in Hillary Clinton-like terms “unforgivable”, if not deplorable.

“We are in a position now where we have elements who are not interested in solving the long-standing problems within communities or the new arrivals,” he claimed.

“You mustn’t give them the opportunity.”

While Higgins appears keen to attack those attending the growing protests as stirring both “fear” and “hate”, polling released on Sunday appears to indicate the general perspective of the Irish public is radically different.

When asked about the tens of thousands of migrants brought into Ireland — a relatively small country with a population far lower than many individual U.S. states — 56 per cent of respondents said that the island nation had brought in too many last year.

A plurality also appeared to back the protests, with 48 per cent of people saying that the demonstrations were made up predominantly of concerned citizens, compared to 44 per cent who believe they are made up mostly of “far-right agitators”.

The immigration situation is likely to only get worse in Ireland, however, with the authorities in the country now looking at housing foreign migrants in schools as other accommodation options dry up, with around 180,000 refugees and asylum seekers expected to be in the country by the end of this year.

Roderic O’Gorman, Ireland’s so-called integration minister, has also said that he would “like to see” Ireland also allowing in migrants supposedly fleeing climate change if it represented a shift in policy at the international level.

“I think all of Europe is going to have to expect more migration, more inward migration,” he remarked.

“Parts of Europe have experienced very significant amounts in the last decade. By and large Ireland has been receiving relatively small amounts and I think it’s likely that that’s going to change.”

Democrat James Clyburn's campaign paid grandson over $86,000 in 'management' fees, filings show

It is legal for federal politicians to use campaign money to pay family members, but ethics experts generally frown upon the practice.

South Carolina Democrat Rep. James Clyburn paid his grandson more than $86,000 in "campaign management" fees and over $50,000 in rent to a company ran by his son-in-law during the 2022 midterms, according to federal election filings.

Clyburn, former House Majority Whip, paid his grandson Walter A. Clyburn Reed $7,000 a month from December 2021 until the 2022 election, with the exception of one month where Reed received only $3,500, Federal Election Commission data shows. From October 2021 until November 2022, Reed received $86,500 in "campaign management" fees for his grandfather's campaign, according to data.

Other federal filings show that Clyburn's campaign paid 49 Magnolia Blossoms LLC $57,500 in rent. Clyburn's son-in-law, Walter A. Reed, is the registered agent of the company, according to South Carolina business records reviewed by Fox News Digital.

New Israeli town near Gaza border set to bring in 500 families to region

The new town, currently named "Hanun," will be located in the Sdot Negev Regional Council, adjacent to the northern Gaza Strip.

The cabinet approved the establishment of a new town near the border with the Gaza Strip on Sunday, laying the ground for about 500 new households in the area.

The planning of the town began under the last government headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with the cabinet completing the approval process by approving a budget for the town on Sunday morning.

The new town, currently named "Hanun," will be located in the Sdot Negev Regional Council, adjacent to the northern Gaza Strip. In an announcement of a cabinet approval of the town in November 2020, it was stated that the town will be located east of Kibbutz Sa’ad and south of Sderot.

The new town is expected to bring about 500 new families to the regional council. The Construction and Housing Ministry will advance the planning of Hanun as a community settlement, which will require those wishing to buy a house there to receive the approval of the town's cooperative.

Hanun will provide a solution to those wishing to live in the Gaza border region who do not wish to join a moshav or kibbutz, where they would need to take part in an agricultural community.

Maryland Woman, 25, Admits To Sexually Abusing Baby Girl On Camera

Baltimore, Maryland – Summer Nichole McCroskey, age 25, of Elkton, Maryland, pleaded guilty today to federal charges related to her participation in a conspiracy to sexually abuse a child, from the age of approximately four months to two years old, to producing and distributing images documenting the sexual abuse of the child, and to possession of child pornography.

At today’s plea hearing, McCroskey admitted that she and her co-conspirator sexually abused a child, starting at the time the victim was approximately four months of age through at least October 2021, when the victim was two years old, and produced videos and images of the abuse. The abuse included oral, vaginal, and anal penetration, as well as bondage, and both McCroskey and her co-conspirator participated in the abuse. Additionally, McCroskey distributed the files documenting the sexual abuse of the child to her co-conspirator and others using an encrypted messaging application.

McCroskey faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in federal prison for conspiracy to sexually exploit a child and for each of seven counts of sexual exploitation of a child; a mandatory minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison for each of five counts of distribution of child pornography; and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison for each of three counts of possession of child pornography.

The man said voluntary organisations such as Life Saving Victoria, the State Emergency Service and the Country Fire Association had dropped vaccine mandate for members and again asked the premier when he would do the same.

Mr Andrews said there 'are some nationally consistent approaches in relation to those who work in sensitive settings, for instance, aged care workers and hospital workers'.

'How long is it going to go for? Another one or two years?' the man tried to interject.

'I am neither here to apologise for saving lives…,' Mr Andrews began.

As the man tried to keep interrogating the premier, Mr Andrews told him he wasn't an 'accredited journalist' and wished him 'happy Pride and all the very best' as he continued to talk over the top of the his attempts to interrupt.

'Let me make one thing very clear to you, vaccines work. I am absolutely pro-vaccine,' Mr Andrews said pointing at the man to his right but still looking straight ahead.

Infuriated by the response,the heckler said: 'You are a fraud. That's the stupidest thing you said on election night,' referring to Mr Andrews' victory speech after the November vote where he praised vaccines for bringing Victoria out of its protracted Covid lockdowns.
