Claremont Institute Heads to Florida, Lauding DeSantis Leadership as ‘Template for Any Red State in America’

The Claremont Institute is expanding its state activities to Florida, praising Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis's leadership.

DeSantis met with Claremont Institute President Ryan Williams on Wednesday in the Florida state Capitol, where the conservative leaders announced that Claremont’s new activities will be based out of Tallahassee, Florida.

First lady Casey DeSantis announced the news in a tweet Wednesday afternoon, saying she is “thrilled to welcome” Claremont’s Scott Yenor “to his new home in Tallahassee.”

“Protecting Americans from infringing woke ideology is important work, and we are grateful Scott and the Claremont Institute picked Florida to continue their mission,” she said.

“Protecting and restoring the American way of life is the most important work Governors and state legislators can do right now,” Williams said in a statement.

“Governor DeSantis has shown fearless intellectual and political leadership in the fight against woke leftism,” he added. “We are thrilled to help him and his legislative allies continue this important work as part of our ongoing efforts across the states by creating a new Tallahassee-based position of Senior Director of State Coalitions.”

The Claremont Institute is an increasingly influential think tank, dubbed by The New York Times the “nerve center of the American Right.” It is dedicated to restoring “the principles of the American Founding to their rightful, preeminent authority in our national life.”

In a press release, the organization noted that the new Tallahassee outpost will “continue that work with a keen eye to using Florida as the first template for any red state in America.”

“We are bringing Claremont Institute state activity to Florida for a few reasons, not least of which is the bold executive and legislative leadership in the Sunshine State,” the release adds. “We are excited to help continue this work by educating allies and leaders alike on effective policy strategies to combat the woke regime in Florida and America at large.”

The move comes amid speculation that DeSantis is eyeing a 2024 presidential nomination. The governor has not confirmed these rumors, but he has also not denied them—prompting heavy criticism from former President Donald Trump, who dubbed the governor “Ron DeSanctimonious” at a November rally.

“I spend my time delivering results for the people of Florida and fighting against [President] Joe Biden,” DeSantis said at a press conference Wednesday, regarding Trump’s latest criticisms. “That’s how I spend my time. I don’t spend my time trying to smear other Republicans.”

Project Veritas boardmember Matthew Tyrmand not so subtle opinion

Murder was Putin’s business his whole career: Matthew Tyrmand

Russia’s propaganda machine pushes narrative about neo-nazis in Kyiv and the threat that the Ukrainian military posed to Russia, but such accusations are groundless and it is clear for everybody to see who is the aggressor here, Matthew Tyrmand, a Polish-American investigative journalist, told TVP World.

Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has said that the military operation in Ukraine was aimed at ensuring that Kyiv never joins NATO and that the military infrastructure in the country was a threat to the Russian Federation.

According to Matthew Tyrmand, Lavrov’s words are consistent with the talking points of Russia’s propaganda machine. What is important to remember is the fact that Ukrainians chose to take the western path, that they do not want to be under Russian control. Russia wanted to have a buffer zone between it and NATO but its aggression in 2014, when it annexed Crimea from Ukraine and basically started the war in Donbas pushed Ukrainians toward the West.

It will be impossible for Putin to get the support of the Ukrainian society now, so he aims at achieving some military and strategic goals among which one of the most important for the Kremlin is securing the land bridge connecting Russia with Crimea, said Matthew Tyrmand. Another target is Kharkiv as it is a significant industrial centre.

In Mr Tyrmand's opinion, Putin assessed Biden’s administration and the European Union leadership as weak which prompted him to take military action against Ukraine. He did not expect a united and firm stance of the West in response to his aggression. But he was wrong.

“Americans and westerners are very much united, they understand, they see very clearly that not one Ukrainian has killed a Russian civilian, but Russians have killed numerous Ukrainian civilians. It is not often in geopolitics you see something cut and dry… What is clear for all to see is that one larger country with a nuclear-level military invaded their neighbour,” said Matthew Tyrmand.

“Even China is sort of abstaining, even though Putin and Xi obviously met six, eight weeks ago to discuss exactly this outcome playing out,” he added, pointing out that there are very few countries that support Moscow in this conflict.

Mr Tyrmand also addressed those on the right in the West who think that Putin is “this great defender of Christianity in the culture war.” According to him, they are just “useful idiots” as murder has been Putin’s business his whole career and this goes against the main principles of Judeo-Christian values.

Tyrmand is like Peter Theil, Pierre Omidyar, Elon Musk, Jordan Peterson the Silicon Valley gang etc…they pretend to be conservatives - all the extreme liberal antics is just a device to make it look like they are the reasonable ones, but they the self-anointed Democrats with their illustrious "living" Constitution waiting behind the curtain.
