They got BTFO last week - Americans were rightfully reading them the riot act.
So now everything is going to be checked. As it should have been all along.
Maybe this is reactionary and they let all this slide for a while
or
it's been going on and no one knew?

Two points on today's shoot down:
1) The government knows more than it's saying; they want to keep adversaries guessing.
2) Even if they don't know exactly what it is, they have a good idea, and know what it isn't, given they shot it down - never something done lightly.
