British forces are on standby to take down Chinese spy balloons over UK airspace, Rishi Sunak said today, promising that the government would do “whatever it takes” to keep the UK safe.
The prime minister said people should be “reassured” that the UK had “all the capabilities” to respond to threats from the air, following claims that Chinese surveillance balloons may have been spying over Britain.
