How long does a smoke alarm go off before it dies?

It's irritating AF. Been going off since 2am. probably in the abandoned house. At least I assume so, because that would make it worse because it would mean that someone is sitting in their house ignoring the alarm going off since 2am. I would not put it past people around here tho

that doesn't seem right thoughโ€ฆthe batteries have to die eventually. I know that takes a long time too though. The amount of "beeps" because the alarm is telling you to change the battery around this town is almost impressive.

I just tune them all out. But the constant beeping for one going off all day is annoying

They get really mad at you for doing that. I think it interrupts their drinking. I learned my lesson a long time ago for making a concerned 911 call. The 911 operator was nice, it was the volunteer firefighter that let me know that I need to mind my own business & not call unless I see flames

You get yelled at around here by being a concerned citizen. makes me laugh too, I was just talking to my kid about that earlier today. How in the past, if you heard someone screaming like they were being murdered, you went & checked on them, now a days, you block it out because the meth heads are CONSTANTLY screaming like they are being murdered. When it turns out they are just fighting over who brought scabies into their house this time around or some gross shit.

It really is hell on earth here
