Richard Grenell @RichardGrenell

Good question. I went on a personal and intellectual journey after Iraq….and I was the spokesman at the UN for the United States for Iraq, Afghanistan & Syria wars.

I’ve thought a lot about this subject and wrote at length about what it means to be America First.

Honest question for my conservative, non-interventionist friends:

Does this stance apply to pre-Iraq conflicts? Much of the GOP brand in the latter 20th century was built on support for intervention (Vietnam, etc.) liberals opposed.

Does this imply that the liberals were right?

A former key adviser to George W. Bush is accusing another former President of “punching down” at Ron DeSantis.

During a Saturday interview on the Fox News Channel‘s Cavuto Live, Karl Rove castigated Donald Trump for “childish attacks” against the Florida Governor, a likely opponent in the 2024 Republican Presidential Primaries.

“So he’s punching down and I don’t think it looks good. You know he the attacks on DeSantis I think work to DeSantis’ advantage,” Rove said, calling it a “mistake for the former president to punch down, but he likes punching and if he has to punch down he’s gonna keep punching.”

“But I think it works to his disadvantage,” Rove added. “It makes him look small, makes him look weak.”

Rove singled out Trump for “scorched earth policies” against the Florida Governor, a frequent target of the former President since late last year, accusing Trump of “a bunch of childish attacks.”

“Europe’s dependency on Russian energy made us vulnerable,” Stoltenberg is expected to say. “[W]e should not make the same mistake with China…”

TWITTER FILES #16 Comic Interlude: A Media Experiment

  1. The #TwitterFiles have revealed a lot: thousands of moderation requests from every corner of government, Feds mistaking both conservatives and leftists for fictional Russians, even Twitter deciding on paper to cede moderation authority to the “U.S. intelligence community”:

  1. These and at least a dozen other newsworthy revelations produced exactly zilch in mainstream news coverage in the last two months:

  1. Then House hearings were held last week, at which one witness told a story about Donald Trump asking to remove a mean tweet by Chrissy Teigen.

The press went bananas. Now THAT was big news!

  1. Purely to show the bankruptcy of media in this area, let’s introduce a pair of loud new data points, and see if any press figures at all cover either of them.

  1. If a president freaking out about one tweeter is news, surely a U.S. Senator finking on three hundred-plus of his constituents also must be?

  1. Here’s Maine Senator Angus King writing to Twitter to call a slew of accounts “suspicious” for reasons like:

“Rand Paul visit excitement”

“Bot (averages 20 tweets a day)”

Being followed by rival Eric Brakey

Or, my personal favorite: “Mentions immigration.”

  1. King’s office declined comment. If Dick Nixon sniffed glue, this is what his enemies list might have looked like: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vS1PbfNEqDCKX7YFNEvXmm7Lil3Z5unKivX5SA5avFE9tF95kgkbDVJpeRhX4lCig/pubhtml

  1. So as not to focus only on Dems or those who caucus with Democrats, here’s a contribution from Republican Mark Lenzi, a State Department official most famous for offering to donate his brain to science after a claimed brush with Havana syndrome.

  1. Lenzi wrote to Twitter bluntly asking to remove 14 accounts distinguished among other things by skepticism of Russiagate: “The below are some Russian controlled accounts that I think you will want to look into and delete.”

11.A government official, writing from a State department email, asks to “delete” 14 accounts that are engaged in legit speech and for which no evidence is shown they're Russian controlled or bots (in fact, we at Racket know some of these people). A clear First Amendment issue.

1/3 NEW:

Hunter told a whopperin his memoir when he claimed he fought his baby mama Lunden Roberts' child support lawsuit b/c "I had no recollection of our encounter." In fact, laptop emails reveal he knew Roberts well and had a relationship with her …

2/3 "The women I'd been with during [drug] rampages were hardly the dating type. We would satisfy our immediate needs and little else. I'm not proud of it. It's why I would later challenge in court the woman from Arkansas who had a baby in 2018 and claimed the child was mine–…

3/3 "– I had no recollection of our encounter." Yet emails reveal he gave Roberts keys to his DC office, he employed her, and she coached his daughter in basketball. A paternity test proved the child was his, and a judge ordered Hunter to pay child support & Roberts' legal fees
