Our mind is reasonable, that's why we can figure things out.

"Our mind is reasonable, that's why we can figure things out."

No, it's actually the Universe itself that makes sense.

And our mind is part of it.

it's called Whole-ism. or Holism.

Did you ever give me your definition for Rational, if it was different from mine?

what about "belief'?

we might be talking based upon two separate definitions?

Please refrain from mis-representing my argument.

Sorry if I was unclear.

to me "nothing is real" is false.

as far as Existentialism, if that's what you refer to, anon doesn't adhere to that school of thought / philosophy, movement.

?

Every fact / data point is based upon a belief, also called a premise.

It's very important to always examine the premise.

There only needs to be one, so it is claimed?

All will build from there.

But there are many?

No closed system is perfectly consistent.(Perhaps that's why the "O " that makes the Q" has a line through it? so it becomes a "power switch" an off and on switch? and is an open system; not a closed one?)

The idea of "is this a dream" or "is this a simulation" "Will I wake -up and find a new reality" is an ancient brain puzzle.

The King dreams he is caught stealing fruit from his own orchard, and is not a King but a thief.

The beating-dream beating wakes him up.

He asks his advisor, "chancellor" ? "Am I a King who dreamed he was a thief. Or am I now dreaming I am a King, and will wake-up to be a thief?

Anon once had a dream that was so real I was pounding on the floor with my fist to "prove" it was real.

?

Only when you wake do you realize it was a dream.

You may decide it's wrong; whatever?

Whatever people believe will fail to ever change the Truth; right or wrong?

But "all that" is something that really can't be fought over, since the awareness is a personal experience; and a way to interpret one's own experiences?

I apologize if I gave the wrong impression.

"Everything" we know is based upon belief. Much different from "nothing is real"

i.e. there is always a premise, which is always an unsupported belief.

That's the definition of premise.

Logic builds from premises.

If you have another, or your own definition, then share it - so we can communicate without mis-understanding?

The premise is the thing you believe, that is based upon itself.

For instance, it's self -evident 2 + 2 = 4. It has no proof other than itself.

?

4 is the fact.

There is no other proof.

it is it's own-proof.

Most big mistakes are made with use of false premises, I have found.

For instance, "The medical community and my government can be trusted."

is a very big false premise.
