Interesting take…

Has the Matamoros Murder and Kidnapping Opened the Door to Another Operation Fast and Furious?

Gunmen believed to be affiliated with one of Mexico’s drug cartels carried out a brazen kidnapping of four Americans on a crowded street in the border town of Matamoros. Two were killed at the scene. The two who were abducted, one of whom was wounded during the kidnapping, are now back in the United States.

Beyond the call for military intervention, some Republicans are laying the blame for border lawlessness on Joe Biden.

Two other things also leap out at you. The first is that the familiar mouthpieces of the Democrat establishment are asserting without evidence that Joe Biden is not to blame for the Matamoros killings and kidnappings.

At about the same time, the anti-gun and anti-freedom group “Newtown Action Alliance” put out this.

Just a week ago, Biden promised to ban “assault weapon,” “come Hell or high water.” It is simply inconceivable that the murder and kidnapping of Americans in Matamoros will not find its way into that campaign. Guns will be to blame for the lawless border area, not the drug trade. The solution will be a push to limit the ability of Americans to own firearms, and it will not involve anything that will slow down the flow of drugs and fentanyl across the border. The government wants you disarmed, and as they’ve shown repeatedly, they don’t care if you die.

Republican Budget Proposal May Include 45% Cut to Foreign Aid & FBI Funding, Media Reports

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - A budget proposal expected to be released by Republicans next month in response to President Joe Biden’s proposed budget could include a45% cut to foreign aid and nearly halve the FBI’s counterintelligence funding, the US newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Republicans are working with former Trump administration Office of the Management and Budget Director Russel Vought to develop their own proposal, the report said, citing an interview with Vought.

An outline developed by Vought includes a 45% cut to foreign aid, a cut of the FBI counterintelligence budget by nearly a half and imposing work requirements for food stamp and Medicare beneficiaries, the report said.

The budget outline also proposes phasing out the Section 8 low-income housing program and reducing housing program budgets overall by 43%, the report said.

In addition, Vought’s budget outline would eliminate the Defense Department’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and cut $3.4bln in State Department refugee and migration assistance funding, the report said.

Biden is expected to release his budget proposal on Thursday, having urged Republicans in recent weeks to release their own in response.

Is this (potentially) a proxy war with China? Much off China's fentanyl comes across the southern border. There are probably significant "cells" of people from China exploiting the border and coming across as well.

Michelle Obama cried for 30 minutes after Donald Trump’s inauguration

Former first lady describes ‘uncontrollable sobbing’ on leaving the White House, while taking a swipe at the former Republican president

Michelle Obama cried for “30 minutes straight” after handing over the White House to Donald Trump following his inauguration, she has revealed.

In a new podcast, the former first lady described her “uncontrollable sobbing” after she flew out of Washington in January 2017 and made a dig at the size of the crowd that had gathered to welcome America’s new leader.

“When those doors shut, I cried for 30 minutes straight, uncontrollable sobbing, because that’s how much we were holding it together for eight years,” Mrs Obama said on The Light Podcast, which is being made to promote her latest book The Light We Carry.

“After the inauguration – and we know whose inauguration we were at – that day was so emotional, on so many different reasons. We were leaving the home we had been in for eight years, the only home our kids really knew,” she added, referring to Malia, who was 19 at the time and Sasha who was 15.

“They remembered Chicago but they had spent more time in the White House than anywhere. So we were saying goodbye to the staff and all the people who helped to raise them.”

Speaking to Hoda Kotb, presenter of NBC’s Today show, Mrs Obama said that she was not in a “good mood” during Mr Trump’s inauguration, but “had to hold it together”.

“There were tears, there was that emotion,” she said.

“But then to sit on that stage and watch the opposite of what we represented on display – there was no diversity, there was no colour on that stage, there was no reflection of the broader sense of America,” she added, in a pointed jab at the incoming administration.

After the ceremony finished, the Obamas flew out of Washington. Mr Trump said at the time: “We had the biggest audience in the history of inaugural speeches.”

Mrs Obama disagreed.

“You take your last flight off, flying over The Capitol, where there weren’t that many people there. We saw it,” she said, which gained laughs from the audience.

Mrs Obama’s podcast, which is available on Audible, is taken from conversations during her book tour with moderators including Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, David Letterman and Conan O’Brien.
