Dutch Government Sends In Military Trucks and Military Gear as Farmers Plan the Biggest Demonstration Yet After Government Closes 3,000 Farms Due to Global Warming

Thousands of farmers are expected to drive tractors to The Hague, Netherlands, on Saturday morning to oppose the government’s plan to shut down 3,000 farms. The government made the move to comply with global warming goals despite a heavy vehicle ban the day before.

It can be recalled that the Dutch government is planning to “buy and close down up to 3,000 farms near environmentally sensitive areas to be in compliance with EU environmental rules” of the nitrate emission reduction plan.

Thousands of farmers and the climate activist group Extinction Rebellion will hold a rally in The Hague, Netherlands on Saturday, March 11.

According to Swedish journalist, Peter Imanuelsen, this will be the biggest demonstration yet.

Elon Musk Says He’s Open to the Idea on Buying Collapsed Silicon Valley Bank

Silicon Valley Bank was shut down by California regulators on Friday and seized all its assets. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation was named as the receiver.

“Silicon Valley Bank has been closed by the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has been appointed receiver, becoming the first FDIC-backed institution to fail this year,” Market Watch reported.

“The news comes amid a crisis at parent SVB Financial Group SIVB, which lost a record 60% of its value on Thursday, after it disclosed large losses from securities sales and announced a dilutive stock offering along with a profit warning. The FDIC said all insured depositors will have full access to their accounts no later than Monday morning. Uninsured depositors will get a receivership certificate and may be entitled to dividends once the FDIC sells the bank’s assets,” the outlet added.

The bank reportedly holds $173 billion in deposits. The collapse could cause a recession.

Star Trek legend William Shatner has said he doesn’t “have long to live”.

The 91-year-old recently finished his new documentary You Can Call Me Bill, which is described as ”an intimate portrait of William Shatner’s personal journey over nine decades on this Earth”.

While wider release plans have yet to be finalised, the film will air at this year’s SXSW festival.
