ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) โ€” A swarm of earthquakes occurring over the past few weeks has intensified at a remote Alaska volcano dormant for over a century, a possible indication of an impending eruption.

 

The Alaska Volcano Observatory raised the alert level to advisory status for Tanaga Volcano late Tuesday after the quakes became very vigorous.

 

โ€œWe started seeing a whole lot of earthquakes occurring, one after the other, several per minute,โ€ said John Power, a research geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey stationed in Anchorage at the Alaska Volcano Observatory.

 

There have been hundreds of small earthquakes, none larger than magnitude 2.75, but they are concentrated beneath the summit of the volcano, he said.

 

โ€œThat indicates that weโ€™re seeing significant unrest at the volcano,โ€ Power said.

 

โ€œWhether or not this will lead to an eruption is something we canโ€™t say at this point in time,โ€ he said. โ€œBut we are concerned about it enough that we have gone and elevated the warning level.โ€

 

While the increase causes concern, he said many times earthquake activity will drop off with no eruption.

 

โ€œItโ€™s anybodyโ€™s guess as to where this particular round of earthquake activity may end up,โ€ he said.

 

The volcano is on an uninhabited island in the western Aleutians, about 1,250 miles (2,012 kilometers) southwest of Anchorage. There are no communities or structures there, but Adak, a city of about 170 residents on another island, is about 65 miles (105 kilometers) away and could see ashfall.

 

If the volcano were to erupt, the biggest threat would be to aircraft. The Aleutians are below the routes that jets fly between North America and Asia. Volcanic ash is angular and sharp and can cause an airplane engine to shut down. Previous eruptions had both ash clouds and viscous lava that moves very slowly away from the mountain, much like what happened at Mount St. Helens in Washington state in 1980.

 

โ€œItโ€™s very different than what you would see, for example, in Hawaii, Kilauea or Mauna Loa, where you see these beautiful red rivers of lava flowing down the side of the volcano,โ€ Power said.

 

Tanaga is actually part of a three-volcano complex on the island. Itโ€™s the tallest of the three at 5,925 feet (1,806 meters). It sits in the middle, with Sajaka, a 4,443-foot volcano to its west. Sajaka had an older cone that collapsed into the North Pacific Ocean with a new cone that has emerged.

 

To the east of Tanaga is Takawangha, a 4,754 -foot (1,449-meter) volcano that is mostly ice-covered except for four craters, the Alaska Volcano Observatory says.

 

The last known eruption for Tanaga was in 1914. It erupted twice in the late 1700s and again in 1829.

 

The observatory in a release said there are no known eruptions of Takawangha or Sajaka. However, field work has indicated that eruptions may have occurred from those volcanos and were attributed to Tanaga.

Eighteen school districts spent a combined $2.6 million in the past three years to send children with emotional and behavioral issues to Diamond Ranch Academy, according to data from GovSpend, which tracks local government spending through open records requests. In a world in which finance has become dizzyingly complex and specialties have grown ever narrower, it is refreshing to observe a classic bank run in the form of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) collapse.

 

SVB is a holding company containing a broker-dealer and a bank. Only the banking component appears to have failed. This is the second largest bank failure in U.S. history, and in a weakening economy, panic has set in.ยญยญ SVBโ€™s downturn coincided with widespread decline in banking stocks and for good reason. Around half of all VC-backed startups do business with SVB. It is a critical player in biotech, cybersecurity, and social media, but really the name says it all: it was the most important publicly traded bank specializing in Silicon Valley. SVB was so ubiquitous that startups were encouraged or felt pressure to work with the bank to gain access to venture capitalโ€ฆโ€ฆ

 

Although SVB is classified as a systematically important financial institution, if SVBโ€™s 10-Kโ€™s are reported accurately, then there is little systemic risk even in the fire sale scenarioโ€ฆ..

 

SVB is a minor player in investment banking and has a weak role as a financial intermediary in most of the economy outside Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley will take a large hit. Some startups will be dissolved. Innovation will slow down in the short-term. How Biden and the Fed Caused Silicon Valley Bank to Tank

 

Regulators took control of Silicon Valley Bank, the Santa Clara-based commercial lending giant that until earlier this week was the USโ€™ 16th biggest bank, after a bank run. The calamity may have been startling, but wasnโ€™t unpredictable, given the Fedโ€™s aggressive policy on interest rates, says author and banking expert David Tawil.

 

โ€œLetโ€™s talk about the important story here, which is the fact that Silicon Valley Bank came under pressure because of something very elementary, and frankly not so much their fault,โ€ Tawil told Sputnik on Friday.

SVB fell victim to the Federal Reserveโ€™s policy of raising interest rates too high, too fast, according to the observer.

 

โ€œWhat banks usually do is they take in deposits and they make loans. Most of the capital is usually held in some very safe instruments, like United States Treasury debt,โ€ Tawil explained. Consequently, SVB bought as many of these very low yielding Treasuries as they could with the depositary funds they had on hand to at least slow if not stop the inflationary depreciation of the cash they had on hand.

 

โ€œAs we know, the Federal Reserve has hiked rates a lot and people are getting very concerned about interest rates going even higher. Therefore, those bonds, because they had such low yield to them, became worth less and less over time. Now, if a bank holds securities and the capital they have on hand because of those securities is worth less, the bank needs to come up with more money because they have constant testing and monitoring by the banking regulators of how much money, or how much cash and liquid securities they have on hand versus the deposits that they owe to depositors," the expert said.

 

"And unfortunately, they got to a point where the draw down on the value of those Treasury securities they held was so great that they needed to put up more and more money, which meant they needed to go ahead and sell those Treasuries at a loss, because interest rates are going higher."

 

This resulted in a spiraling crisis in which whatever cash SVB could get from Treasuries would be handed over to depositors, and the bank would need to sell off even more of the lower valued bonds to come up with the cash.

 

โ€œAt some point it got out, in this age of social media and easy communication that we live in, that things were getting somewhat fragile over at the bank, and all of a sudden, we have this big run on the bank where lots of depositors are scared to keep their money there because they donโ€™t know how long the bank is going to be around for,โ€ Tawil explained.

 

The observer reiterated that based off publicly available information, SVBโ€™s failure wasnโ€™t the result of it being poorly run, any sort of financial impropriety, or fraud.

 

Depositors simply โ€œgot the sense that the bank was on shaky groundsโ€ฆand ran to withdraw their money, and the overwhelming demand for deposits put the bank under strain to the point where the bank regulator in California needed to go ahead and step in to take over the bank.โ€

 

Fedโ€™s Wrecking Ball

 

SVBโ€™s collapse is indicative of a couple things, Tawil says.

 

โ€œFirst off with respect to Silicon Valley, itโ€™s indicative of the slowdown there. I think in the wake of a low interest rate environment being over, easy money not being so easy anymore and these startups not getting capital so easily anymore, it means that there arenโ€™t increasing deposits into Silicon Valley Bank. The biological robots arise by cellular self-organization and do not require scaffolds or microprinting; the amphibian cells are highly amenable to surgical, genetic, chemical, and optical stimulation during the self-assembly process. We show that the xenobots can navigate aqueous environments in diverse ways, heal after damage, and show emergent group behaviors. We constructed a computational model to predict useful collective behaviors that can be elicited from a xenobot swarm. In addition, we provide proof of principle for a writable molecular memory using a photoconvertible protein that can record exposure to a specific wavelength of light. Together, these results introduce a platform that can be used to study many aspects of self-assembly, swarm behavior, and synthetic bioengineering, as well as provide versatile, soft-body living machines for numerous practical applications in biomedicine and the environment.

Even more protesters gathered at the square in the evenings. By nightfall, the enraged crowd was throwing firecrackers, stones, and Molotov cocktails at the police, attempting to take down an iron fence and storm the parliament. The police used water cannons to promptly put out the fires and showered the crowds with water, at the same time spraying tear gas to disperse those present.

 

What led to this violent confrontation is perhaps difficult to understand from the perspective of a Western reader. It wasnโ€™t a โ€œcivil societyโ€ uprising in the sense you might find, for example, in a country like France. Instead, it was organized by people whose livelihoods were threatened by the proposed legislation.

 

In a poor country like Georgia, foreign-funded roles pay multiple times better than local gigs. By taking on the NGO industry, the government went up against a powerful, and relatively well-heeled lobby.

 

Inside the crisis

The protests were initially triggered by a bill โ€˜On the Transparency of Foreign Influenceโ€™, which was adopted by the Georgian parliament on its first reading. On Tuesday, 76 deputies voted in favor of adopting the bill and 13 deputies opposed it.

 

During the discussion stage, MPs from opposition parties said they would not allow the so-called โ€œRussian lawโ€ to be considered in parliament. This resulted in a fight between opponents and supporters of the legislation. Deputies from the National Movement and Strategy Aghmashenebeli opposition parties were expelled from the chamber. Triggered by the situation, the latterโ€™s leader Giorgi Vashadze called on all opponents of the bill to join the rally.

EU state bans TikTok from government devices

 

Belgiumโ€™s prime minister has announced that the Chinese-developed app will be barred from state employeesโ€™ gadgets

 

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said on Friday that TikTok will be banned from government phones and devices, citing security concerns. It follows similar measures in the US, EU, and Canada.

 

The ban will be imposed next week and reevaluated after six months, De Croo said in a statement. Government employees will be allowed to use the app on their personal devices, but not on any devices โ€œwhose purchase, subscription or use are partly or fully paid for by the federal government.โ€

 

Citing reports by the Belgian State Security Service and Centre for Cybersecurity, De Croo claimed that TikTok collects large amounts of user data, manipulates the information users are exposed to, and cooperates with Chinese spy agencies.

 

โ€œWe must not be naive,โ€ De Croo said. โ€œTikTok is a Chinese company that today is obliged to cooperate with the Chinese intelligence services.โ€

 

TikTok is owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company headquartered in Beijing. A spokesperson for TikTok said on Friday that user data is stored on servers outside of China, which the Chinese government has no access to. TikTok itself has headquarters in the US, Ireland, Singapore, and the UK.

 

De Crooโ€™s ban follows similar decisions across the Western World. In the US, the Biden administration ordered all federal agencies to ban the app from government-issued devices last month, while a similar ban was ordered in Canada. The European Unionโ€™s three main institutions have also forbidden employees from using the app on work devices, as has the Danish Defense Ministry.

 

While TikTok insists that all user data is stored outside of China, it confirmed last year that its China-based staff could access this data remotely. In response to the recent bans, the company now assures US and European users that their data will be stored in Texas and Ireland respectively, and that it will allow a third-party European cybersecurity firm to monitor what data it transfers out of the EU.

My friend Kevin McKernan has done an incredible amount of work that has allowed the discovery of contamination in the form of dsDNA in both the Pfizer and Moderna products. You can read about that here and here. But it turns out following further and more in-depth inquiries, that itโ€™s worse than originally thought. Please refer to Anandamideโ€™s most recent Substack piece entitled: โ€œPfizer and Moderna bivalent vaccines contain 20-35% expression vector and are transformation competent in E.coliโ€.

 

Take Home Message: The left-over expression vectors used to manufacture the mRNAs are at contamination levels 100-fold higher than originally proposed and imply trillions of DNA molecules per dose. This has implications for integration into our genome.

Kevinโ€™s team originally used a technique called RNA-seq to investigate whether or not there was contamination in the Pfizer and Moderna products and found high levels of kanamycin/neomycin/spike-containing expression plasmids - โ€˜levels that exceeded the EMA specified dsDNA limits for these COVID-19 injectable products in the case of the Pfizer productsโ€™. Concerning. Very concerning. But listen to this. As part of the RNA-seq process, an additive called called actinomycin D (like Furious D) is used, and it can function to suppress DNA amplification by suppressing DNA dependent RNA polymerase activity.

To check this, and to get around the potential problem of actinomycin D activities associated with RNA-seq, they decided use quantitative PCR (qPCR) and gel visualization (eletrophoresis) to get a better idea of just how much DNA contamination they were dealing with. They got rid of the mRNA from the Pfizer and Moderna samples altogether, purified the existing DNA, and used it in follow-up assays. Doing this allowed them to answer questions relating to whether or not the DNA contaminating the samples were circular or linear: ie - replication competent or not, and to assess the ratio of circular to linear DNA contaminants.

 

The initial sequencing of the mRNA vaccines did not sequence deeply enough to ascertain the completeness of the linearization reaction.

 

This was a very important issue to address since the knee-jerk reaction to their original findings was that the DNA was linear(ized) and thus not replication competent. So, no problem! But, even if we are looking at linear plasmids (as opposed to circular), and even though the former might not be replication competent (or less than their circular mates), Kevinโ€™s teamโ€™s previous estimate of billions of potentially contaminating DNA molecules is still super concerning. Why? Because the linearization reactions are likely not 100% efficient. For example, if the reactions are 99% efficient, there would still potentially be millions of replication competent plasmids present. Can you see the problem?

 

So the brilliant labbies got some Pfizer and Moderna samples, got rid of the modified mRNA, took out the DNA (which shouldnโ€™t be there in the first place), and then tried to transform E. coli bacteria using this DNA. We talked about this here but hereโ€™s a refresher video:

 

The thing about this is that they shouldnโ€™t be finding any colonies growing at all. The fact that these plasmids are replication-competent (whatever form they take) - even in lab E. coli - in the first place, is concerning.

 

Then they did qPCR assays using specially-designed primers to amplify the spike, kan or mRNA in the plasmids, in order to estimate the plasmid to mRNA ratio.

 

qPCR primers were designed using IDTs Primer Quest software targeting the Kanamycin gene in the plasmid (HEX) and the Spike protein in the plasmid and the mRNA (FAM).

This is a preferable technique to RNA-seq since the latter biases toward RNA during the sequence read.

 

They also ran the purified DNA and RNA products from the Pfizer and Moderna samples on gels to estimate the relative amounts and size of each nucleic acid. Always good practice to check what youโ€™re working with.

 

And finally they did whole genome shotgun sequencing of the DNA. It's called shotgun sequencing because - like when a shotgun is fired, the shell breaks up into lots of smaller bits - a large genetic sequence is broken up into many smaller fragments (reads) and then reassembled to match a reference sequence, as part of this sequencing technique.

This allowed for a more pinpointed focus on the plasmid and far higher coverage - an increase from 500-4000 (which is sufficient to determine the species or strain of the organism where the DNA comes from) up to 2 million-fold coverage!

Efficient.

 

So the first thing everyone should understand is that the original source of contamination is likely at the in vitro transcription step of production of mRNA whereby residual plasmid DNA might be left behind in the Pfizer or Moderna mRNAs. Kevin explains this well in his Substack. Hereโ€™s a screenshot from his article to illustrate where and how the DNA might get left behind in the manufacturing process. Whatโ€™s really alarming here is that this method can also lead to truncated mRNA synthesis as I have written about extensively and also presented recently at a conference.

 

And as Kevin points out:

 

The presence of E.coli based plasmids is a canary for Lipopolysaccharide (LPS or endotoxin) contamination. Whenever you see high levels of plasmid contamination derived from gram negative bacteria like E.coli, you should expect high levels of endotoxin contamination. Injecting endotoxin can lead to anaphylaxis and toxic shock syndrome.

I think whatโ€™s the most alarming to me about what they found in this further investigation is evidence that the poly-A tails are added after mRNA synthesis. The reason I find this horrifying is because those poly-A tails could be added to well, (theoretically) anything, including truncated mRNAs. Remember we talked about this? This means that those shorter proteins we were talking about that potentially were the reason we saw smears of smaller proteins on Western Blots, are probably a very real thing. We have no idea what the physiological effects of these truncated proteins are.

They found gorgeous colonies in the case of both the Pfizer and Moderna-derived DNA transformations. These are Kan plates (agar infused with kanamycin antobiotic) meaning the plasmids from both the Pfizer and Moderna products conferred kanamycin resistance to the E. coli. Thatโ€™s why they grew! Lucky duckies.

 

Ultimately this means that the โ€˜responsibleโ€™ plasmids are (likely) circular and replication competent.

 

An unknown portion of these dsDNA contaminants are replication competent plasmids that can transform E.coli with a simple 20 second 42C heat shock treatment. These plasmids provide antibiotic resistance on LB-Kan plates and can be isolated from E.coli cultures.

 

An interesting point here is the question of whether or not the โ€˜responsibleโ€™ plasmids will express spike in non-lab E. coli. The answer is likely โ€˜noโ€™, since the mRNA in the Pfizer and Moderna products are specifically designed to target ribosomes for translation in mammals. The plasmids would have to be integrated into the human genome in order for the mRNA to become an issue, biologically-speaking.

 

Kevin writes:

 

This may enable mRNA to be expressed from these plasmids in mammalian cells but unless the plasmids are integrated into the human genome, they are unlikely to be replicated to high copy number.

 

Very quick and dirty summary of a couple results:

 

RT-qPCR showed amplification of DNA of the Pfizer spike and Pfizer kan/vector at near equivalency.

 

This means thereโ€™s likely leurts of vector contamination. And it is DNA contamination that is likely very high because the CTs used in these assays were pretty low - starting below 20. For context, for all those BS PCR โ€˜textsโ€™ they forced on everyone (and still are) they often used a cut-off of 45.

The amount of actual contamination based on these results is likely staggering.

 

Kevin writes:

 

The DNA contamination ranges from 8.19-11.3 ng/ul with 23-55ng/ul of mRNA. This equates to 20-35% of the nucleic acid in each vaccine being expression vector. This is several orders of magnitude over the the EMAs limit of 330ng/mg.

 

With these levels of contamination, RT activity from LINE-1 is not a prerequisite for genome integration.

 

Remember all my talk about LINE-1 as the reverse transcriptase required for reverse transcription with the subsequent worry about integration of foreign DNA into our genome? Well what Kevin is saying here is that the levels of contamination of foreign DNA are so high that we donโ€™t even need to consider the problem of mRNA being reverse transcribed to DNA (poised for integration).

 

Ruh Roh.

 

Final remarks from a truly diligent scientist:

 

These data cannot inform on genome integration and further IRB reviewed deep sequencing work is required to address rare mosaic integration events in patients. Regardless of these hypothetical concerns, the dsDNA contamination exceeds the EMA specifications by several orders of magnitude and further scrutiny should be applied to the endotoxin levels and dsRNA levels in these vaccines.

 

The real life health problems that millions of humans are experiencing following being coerced (in the majority of cases) into being injected with this garbage are plentiful and wide-ranging. It is more than likely that these adverse effects are the direct result of the contamination illuminated by Kevin and his team. And by the way, the techniques that Kevin used to reach these conclusions are very common and furthermore, no great cost or expertise are required to use them.

 

Take home message: Why were these basic assays/procedures not done/carried out prior to injecting billions of people? Or at least, somewhere along the way? Why were my colleagues being threatened for sequencing the crap in the Pfizer and Moderna vials?

 

I think the answer is very clear: they were afraid of what would be found. Not just as per the sequences themselves (ie: furin-cleavage, HIV and cutting sites), but as per contamination arising in the production of the mRNA used in every shot.
