>Monero (xmr) addresses this

If it still has a PUBLIC CENTRALIZED LEDGER, it doesn't.

Also what about transaction fraud?

With a bank I can get certain transactions reversed. Banks are also liable for certain shit.

With crypto you pay for each transaction and get nothing, because it's nameless nodes that sign the transaction. No liabilty == shit.

>The code is literally public - open source.

So what?

You think grandma is capable of reading code, and understanding it including the complicated math and making sure that it's without back doors and then compile the code herself and also write her own operating system and create her own electronic gizmo to make sure it's not comp'd?

No, she can't.

And you can't either.

You trust random strangers on the internet, you don't want a bank, that you can in fact sue, but software written by random people, with no liability what-so-ever.

Linux is the best example that open source is garbage. Look at OpenSSL. It was 100% garbage code and it stood there for years and was used in countless of projects, was full of security holes and other nonsense.

And that's basic internet technology.

No.

Blockchain is shitty garbage tech looking for a use

It gets slower and slower the more data is in it, this also means it wastes more and more energy.

That's also the opposite of what you want from a proper database.

It's garbage tech in search for something to do.

And in the end you trust screens, which also have their own firmware, which also can get hacked.
