A conspiracist, or “free thinker” according to himself, is threatening to sue his local newspaper and Surf Life Saving NSW.

 

A conspiracy theorist and self-described “free thinker” is threatening to sue his local newspaper and Surf Life Saving NSW over a cancelled event they claim was caused by him.

 

A NSW surf lifesaving club took the extraordinary step of cancelling its last nipper program of the season after a video was posted by David Graham, known as “Guru”, calling on his followers “ask them why they’re pushing this woke s***”.

 

The “woke s***” he was referring to Pride Week flags.

 

He urged his followers to “hit our surf clubs this weekend” and wait until the “four and five-year-old nippers”.

 

“Then we go up, and we see these people in the surf lifesaving facilities and ask them why they’re pushing this woke s*t … why they’ve got their rainbow flags everywhere,” he said in a video seen by news.com.au.

 

Thirroul Surf Life Saving Club, in Wollongong, eventually cancelled its last program of the year.

 

Upon hearing he had made front page news for the SLS shutdown, Mr Graham shared legal letters to both Surf Lifesaving NSW and the Illawarra Mercury demanding both entities apologise and retract claims made about him.

 

In the letter addressed to the top brass at Surf Lifesaving NSW, Mr Graham claimed he was a trolling victim and demanded an apology and proof he was not being inclusive within seven days.

 

“Further take notice the claim that “SLS Illawarra have received threats which may affect clubs across the Illawarra related to this weekends support of Pride Week and inclusivity and diversity” as published in the Illawarra Mercury … has used my name Davis ‘Guru’ Graham, leading to defamation and possible election interference,” his legal letter read.

 

“I demand a full apology as I, Mr Graham, called for public members to question the use of the rainbow flag in relation to children, and has (sic) stated that children should not be sexualised,” he continued.

 

“I have not called for violence at any point of the campaign,” he also wrote.

 

In his letter to the Illawarra Mercury, Mr Graham also complained he had been defamed and demanded action.

 

He said in a video online he believed the Illawarra Mercury had been “duped” by trolls and was in cahoots with Surf Lifesaving New South Wales.

 

Mr Graham responded to the cancellation on his podcast and defended his actions.

 

“We have just got to stop these guys somehow or other,” he said.

 

“I’m not a conspiracy theorist and I will be challenging that because everything I have said has come through.”

The SEC filing provides a graph showing that SVB was its largest borrower at year end, with outstanding advances representing 17 percent of all loans made by the FHLB of San Francisco. Notably, another bank which had $14 billion of loans outstanding from the FHLB of San Francisco – First Republic Bank – saw its stock price plummet by 14.8 percent on Friday. In premarket trading this morning, its stock was down another 70 percent, despite the announcement of a new bailout facility last evening by the Fed.

 

Western Alliance Bancorp, also on the FHLB of San Francisco’s list of its top 10 borrowers, saw its stock close with a loss of 20.88 percent on Friday. It had lost another 29 percent in premarket trading this morning.

 

Another member of the top 10 borrowers at FHLB of San Francisco, Silvergate Bank, announced last Wednesday that it was closing shop and liquidating. Silvergate’s problem stemmed from the hot money it held in deposits from crypto companies heading for the exits as investigations began into its role in potentially laundering money for Sam Bankman-Fried’s collapsed house of frauds.

 

Another crypto-related bank, Signature Bank, was shuttered by New York State regulators on Sunday, with the FDIC being named the receiver. All of its depositors, including its uninsured depositors, will also be made whole, according to a statement from the FDIC yesterday. Signature Bank’s filings with federal regulators indicate that more than $79 billion of its $88 billion in deposits were uninsured at the end of the fourth quarter of 2022.

 

Signature Bank was also quietly tapping into ongoing bailouts from a Federal Home Loan Bank. In this case FHLB of New York. Its borrowings from FHLB of New York exploded in the fourth quarter of last year, rising to $11.3 billion. According to an SEC filing, as of September 30, 2022, it had total borrowing capacity of $23.4 billion from FHLB New York.

 

We’re starting to see a pattern here. If you want to know which banks are going belly up next, simply look at which ones took the largest loan advances from a Federal Home Loan Bank last year. That appears to mean that they were seeing an exodus of depositor money and needed to plug their liquidity holes.

Looks like the Maga term we use originally came out of Zoroastrian religion, and was used as one of the oldest terms term for a fellowship of Magus (The ‘Magus’, then, would be the man possessed of maga ), Magi. Also that it’s adherents worshipped Indra the God of The Storm

 

Maga has been mentioned six times in the Gathas Although interpretations differ as to whether it means a " difficult task, enterprise"   (Kanga & Insler), or "gift and reward," I, following Bartholomae and Taraporewala, derive it from maz/mah to mean "magnanimity," the name Zarathushtra gave to his universal Fellowship. It is twice called maz maga, "Great Fellowship" in the Gathas with a view to emphasizing the importance of the movement started by Zarathushtra. Magavan means "belonging to Maga" and therefore a "companion of Zarathushtra, Zarathushtrian."In the Gathas, it does not give the meaning of a religious leader but a person belonging to the Great Fellowship.

 

Although the Gathic magavan, member of the Zarathushtrian fellowship Maga, has never been used in the Later Avesta, Old Persian magu (Greek magoi, English magus, plural magi) and the subsequent Pahlavi magopat, mowbad; Persian mobad, mobed) mean  a member of the priestly class. There are eight functional terms: zoatar, hâvanân, âtrevakhsh, frâberetar, âberet, âsnâtar, raethwishkara, and sraoshâvareza.

 

They were also known as Magavans, belonging to Maza Maga, the Great Magnonimity, the Great World Fellowship founded by Zarathushtra. This term gave rise to Magu priests of a Median tribe.

 

Magu in Old Persian, and its  subsequent terms of  magus (plural magi), magian, for members of the priestly tribe of Medes during Median and Achaemenian periods in Ancient Iran indicate that in later times, the word became related to a priest and the priestly class. Nonetheless, the Pahlavi magog, Persian mogh, Arabic majûs meaning "Zarathushtrian" and magopat, "head of mago(g)" and therefore a priest show that it continued to be applied to a member of the Zarathushtrian fellowship and not necessarily to "priest." Furthermore, maga is rendered magîh, magianship with a gloss "pure goodness." It is a generic term.

if credit goes away, the ability for stores to stock goes with it, then chaos may follow. Retail, grocery, gasoline, and pharmacies all practice JITD and credit for inventory purchasing. In other words, they buy on credit to stock their wares, and they only hold the bare minimum to shave the line of debts due vs revenue garnered. Just in time delivery is why they get such frequent deliveries and have little to no goods stocked out of sight. Most grocery stores have produce and dairy deliveries every other day, and dry and frozen goods 2-3x weekly. With no credit functionality those vendors will be empty in days. Gasoline will too.

Maga, The Magian Fellowship

 

"Maga" in Avesta and "magha" in Sanskrit is derived from "maz/mah" meaning "to be great, magnanimous, liberal, generous." Maga/magha means "greatness, magnanimity, generosity." The adjective is magavan/maghavan, "great, liberal, generous, and magnanimous." The Sanskrit adjective is used mostly in honor of Indira, the Rigvedic god of clouds and rains, who was "generous" enough to bring riches to the Vedic Aryans by driving the drought away.

Zarathushtra uses Maga for the "Fellowship" he founded through his Good Religion, and "Magavan" for every member of the "Magnanimity." The two words Maga and Magavan – are mentioned for eight times in the Gathas (Maga: Songs 2:11, 11:14, 16:11, 16:16, 17.7 (twice), and Magavan: 6:7, 16:15). Zarathushtra calls his Maga as "maz, great" in two Gathic stanzas 2:11 and 11:14.

The gist of the above stanzas is that the Great Fellowship is based on the its smallest unit – a married couple forming unity in "weal and woe." The units aggregate to include the entire living world. It teaches radiant happiness that reaches all. A person who consults righteousness, uses his/her good mind, and lives a life of progressive peace qualifies to be a member of the Fellowship.

In the beginning Zarathushtra prays to God to lead him to expand his newly founded Fellowship. Later, he is joined by King Vishtaspa and his sagacious team, and the work to promote the "Great Fellowship" gains a great momentum. Zarathushtra's "best wishes" come true when he watches the Fellowship grow far and wide.

It may be noted that the Good Religion does not divide its followers on caste and/or professional systems. It is on geographical bases. Home (demâna) is the first unit. Homes make up a settlement (vîs). Settlements join to make the third unit, district (shoithra). Districts together create a land (dahyu). Lands unite into a world, the earth (bûmi). A home is made of the family (khaetva). A settlement encloses the community (verezena). The land has the fellowship (airyaman). The world of lands has the Great Fellowship (Maz Maga). No race, no color, and no profession to divide the people into upper to lower castes and classes in a pyramid, but five units to unite the entire humanity on this good earth on one level. Only one's good and better thoughts, words and deeds in serving humanity and promoting the world give him/her recognition.

With this "Introduction," I should say, I regret to tell of what happened to Maz Maga, the Great Magnanimity of Magavan (Magnanimous) Zarathushtra after the Gathic period. The Aryans had their primitive caste system – the priests, the warriors, and the miscellany professionals. The third caste labored and produced, and the first two enjoyed the fruits. The Indo-Iranians in the east (Today's Central Asia and northwestern India) had their âthravans/atharvans, the fire priests. It was these who took over the Good Religion and institutionalized it into what we have today as the "Traditional" Zoroastrianism. The Âthravans do not mention the Gathic Magavans and the Zarathushtrian Maz Maga. The two terms are not found in the Later Avesta.

The only two exceptions are: (1) May the water [supply} not be available for him who is of the evil religion, who torments a friend, who torments a "mogho," who torments a neighbor, and who torments a family (Yasna 65.7). (2) A married man is superior to a "maghavan." (here, evidently it means a "celebate" (Vendidad 4:47). Note the change in pronunciation: one is "maghavan" and the other "moghu." Also the meanings are not clear from the contexts in which the two used. Both are deductions.

In the west, the professional priests of Median "nation" were clever enough to retain their caste ("tribe" in the words of Herodotus), and at the same time call themselves Magu, the Median/Old Persian pronunciation of Magava(n). It is simple to understand the rest of events, even the Three Wise Men who are said to have visited and paid their respects to the newborn Jesus. Every Magus in what we call Middle East was not Zoroastrian. He was just a "priest."

However, in the case of Jesus, it must be the Zoroastrian Magi because by that time the institutionalized Zoroastrianism was awaiting the miraculous birth of the "savior" from a virgin womb. The early Christians, most likely the gentiles, were finding a way to strengthen their story of the virgin birth by linking it to the "famous" Magi in the east.

Even the very word "priest," shortened from "presbyteros," literally "elder," was originally applied to "a member of the governing body of an early Christian Church." Today most of the religious orders, including Traditionalist Zoroastrians, have their "priests." We have a few more examples in Guru, Yogi, and Mogul

Any time one person or entity has the authority to edit the ledger, they inevitably choose to go down the path of picking winners and losers. This comes at the expense of the rest of the fiduciary system.

 

Money is an allocation resource. We use money as a relative metric of appraisal of the cost and specialization of an asset. I don't need to know about the grand supply system to optimize my consumption of resources. Things that are cheap are either of low burden to produce or in very low demand. Things that are expensive require a lot of rare resources and/or specialized pricessing to produce.

 

When centrally controlled ledgers get ammended to remove this self-regulating component, you get situations where pricing no longer regulates production or consumption. Rather than pursuing market demand, the interests of the ledger editors are pursued. Rather than engineering solutions the market will bear, some businesses are given customers who will always have ledger points to spend on their products.

The question is not if this will lead to economic ruin - but when the efforts of the ledger editors to gimmick the resources and labors of others leads to such amusing scenarios where "how many dollars does a dollar cost" is a relevant question to the function of the fiduciary system.

 

Block chains like bitcoin and monero use distributed validation and proof of work systems to reduce the odds that a singke entity will be able to gain control over the ledger. There are proof of stake systems (litecoin, etherium, hashgraph) that work a bit differently and distribute validation authority across the share of ownership of tokens.

 

Not all are the same and each one does something diffetent. CBDCs are basically a token system where the bank controls the tokens. It's basically the current model on steroids and cocaine.

Taiwan braces for ‘total blockade’ – media

Defense officials have reportedly designed their new budget to prepare for a possible siege by China

 

Taiwanese military leaders have reportedly warned that Chinese forces are preparing for a “total blockade” of the Taiwan Strait to prevent foreign troops from gaining access to the self-governing island in the event of a war.

I don't disagree. Bullion has a proven history of utility and stability. For the time being, it should be the only form of money recognized by governments.

However, crypto is not the same as fiat. Fiat comes from the latin word meaning to order or command. A note of fiat is a command to do. While I am being a bit pedantic with my semantics, no one is forced to use a crypto and none of the existing ones can be owned or operated by a nation. A nation can hold cryptos (I don't think the systems are matire enough or have the proper feature set to work that way) - but they can't control the network… unless they create their own - which would then only have value as a fiat.

A valid concern. Monero (xmr) addresses this, as do a few others. Basically, because bitcoin has a record of transaction, it is not truly fungible. "New" or "clean" bitcoin sells for higher than "circulated" bitcoin. Basically, if a drug dealer buys from your business and pays you in bitcoin, some investigation could come to you and say you received crypto from illegal activities. Something that can be done with cash and serial numbers, but is much more difficult - and effectively impossible with bullion as it currently exists.

 

Monero addressed this by creating an encrypted ledger system as well as numerous other methods to obscure the origin and destination of transactions. Basically, if you get tracked using monero - it's because of failed opsec or classic gumshoe/humint methods.
