This week we take a look at Donald Trump launching his own influencer charm offensive in an online arms race of mutually assured destruction with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his own army of far-right influencers. Trump ‘acquires’ MAGA influencers to counter DeSantis

MAGA influencers have flocked to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida in recent weeks as the former president embarks on a charm offensive to keep up with DeSantis’ squadron of online boosters. Both Trump and DeSantis have paid close attention in their political operations to how heavily followed accounts shape the conversation among the GOP base, particularly on Twitter, Truth Social and TikTok.

Jack Posobiec, who rose to prominence during the Pizzagate conspiracy theory fervor, was the senior statesman of the dinner-invited crop. At 38, Posobiec has more than 2 million followers on Twitter and over 1 million on Truth Social, giving him an influence among young conservatives comparable to Rush Limbaugh or George Will among baby boomers. Another high-profile attendee was Libs of TikTok curator Chaya Raichik. She was also courted by DeSantis, who offered to take her to the Governor’s Mansion after she a Washington Post Exposé about her Twitter account, which spreads anti-LGBTQ+ outrage to more than 2 million followers.

The Mar-a-Lago influencer’s Schmooze campaign has a quintessentially Trumpian menu of Cheeseburgers, BBQ ribs, king prawns and generous helpings of Diet Coke. He covers all his bases among the super online Republicans, The Trump team also invited Students of Trump co-founder Ryan Fournier, Newsmax producer Alex Lorusso and Rogan O’Handley (better known as DC Draino, with 2.3 million followers on Instagram) who called the hodgepodge “one of the best dinners I’ve ever been to.” have been” described in an interview with The Daily Beast narrating the soiree. “Twitter is important,” a Republican activist familiar with the 2024 campaign told The Daily Beast. “This is where stories come from. It would be foolish not to try to woo the important influencers.” As The Daily Beast reported in early March, figures supporting DeSantis and Trump clashed at CPAC while online abuse made its way into the real world for the first time. Now the two early frontrunners for the 2024 nomination are doing whatever it takes to keep the biggest accounts on the right. “When Kennedy and Nixon went head-to-head, the new frontier was television, and Kennedy won that battle. The new frontier now is social media,” Trump founder Jackson Lahmeyer’s pastor told The Daily Beast.

So far, no influencers have been harmed in the making of this production.

Conservative journalist Jack Posobiec was briefly surrounded by Swiss police Monday at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Various videos were posted to social media that showed Swiss police encircling Posobiec as he ate with several other individuals at the Migros Restaurant, as seen in videos shared both by Posobiec and Benny Johnson. “Excuse me, can I ask you why you’re detaining this journalist?” reporter Savanah Hernandez asked one of the officers surrounding Posobiec. The officer immediately told her to put her phone away, and said, “I don’t answer your questions.” What appeared to be a spokeswoman for the Swiss police said, “we’re just making a normal police control, because you know, it’s WEF, everything’s very sensitive.” Nearly 2,500 global business, political, and social leaders are expected to attend the conference in the Swiss Alps, CNBC reported. “Is there a reason he is specifically was targeted?” Hernandez asks the supposed spokeswoman. “There is a reason, because we have to have a reason to control a person,” the spokeswoman responded, but refused to provide Hernandez with the reason. “I don’t have to tell you that. Why are you asking me that?” the spokeswoman said. She then demanded that Hernandez delete the footage she captured of the interaction between Posobiec, his team and the Swiss police. Posobiec was not handcuffed or arrested, and was not taken into any physical detainment in any of the footage shared online thus far. He changed his Twitter name to “WEF Detainee Poso” shortly after the incident was shared online.

[They're] going to go after Poso, Charlie Kirk, Ryan Fournier and many other 30 something influencers. If Dems lose the 30-40 vote put a fork in them. The attacks will increase to pull the Trump coalition apart. FYSA
