This is false. I've repaired teslas before. More of a pain was having to have only one employee able to control the car because it's all done via phones - there's no keys to the damn things!

But it would take a pretty serious hit to damage far enough inward to damage the battery. And the ins Co isn't paying to total a car when a simple repair is thousands cheaper. I call BS.

They're actually tons of small batteries in a metal case. The case is still way protected and wouldn't be easily damaged in a "fender bender". A 45mph impact, sure. I could see it. Provided it was in the right area. But a $600 replacement hood job won't have insurance buying $25k batteries.

I would expect othe electric cars to use a similar battery. But I merely paint shit, I don't work on battery design.

I'd like to thank the military for giving me no active role in this- it's far easier to shitpost and make memes. I'm just waiting for the 10 day of darnkess so I can queue up youtube and start watching the complete mental breakdowns of 25% of the population.
