Barack and Michelle Obama tour Sydney ahead of speaking tour
Former US president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle met with prime minister Anthony Albanese to talk about the global economy before the pair toured Sydney.
Albanese said he and Obama had a "very positive meeting" where they discussed the invasion of Ukraine and the global supply constraints.
"I had a very positive meeting with President Obama this morning in Sydney, talking about the global economy and what was occurring," Albanese said.
"The Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as the supply side constraints when it comes to the pandemic, have meant that there is upward pressure on energy prices."
Obama and his wife flew into Sydney on a private jet last night and were seen at disembarking at 7.30pm yesterday before being quickly moved by security into a hire car.
The pair attended Kirribilli house to meet with Albanese where locals were happy to see them.
"We were just trying to get home for a cup of coffee when we were stopped by the federal police because we had a vistor in town," one local said.
"I'd invited the lad over for some Anzac biscuits but he'd given me the go-by.
"Good to see the man here, he's a bit of a hero I suppose nationwide and internationally."

White House Press Secretary: Biden Wants Congress to Pass More Gun Control
White House Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Monday that President Biden wants Congress to pass more gun control after an attacker shot and killed three students at the Nashville-area Covenant School.
Breitbart News noted that Nashville police indicated the attacker was a female armed with multiple firearms.
During her Monday press conference, Pierre referenced the gun control Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) worked with Democrats to secure in the summer of 2022, but stressed that Biden wants Congress to act to pass even more gun control.
She said, “He wants Congress to act because enough is enough.”
Jean-Pierre asked, “How many more children have to be murdered before Republicans in Congress will step up and act to pass the ‘assault weapons’ ban, to close loopholes in our background check system, or to the require the safe storage of guns?”
She added, “We need to do something.”

Biden uses Nashville school shooting to push for gun control
"So I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban. It's about time that we began to make some more progress."
On Monday, Joe Biden addressed the school shooting in Nashville at The Covenant School that left three children and three adults dead and said "we have to do more to stop gun violence."
During a speech Biden said, "gun violence is ripping our communities apart, ripping the soul of this nation, ripping at the very soul of the nation. And we have to do more to protect our schools so they aren't turned into prisons. You know, the shooter in this situation reportedly had two assault weapons and a pistol. Two AK-47s."
"So I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban. It's about time that we began to make some more progress," he added.
Biden previously described the shooting as "sick" and "It's heartbreaking, a family's worst nightmare."
He later added that families dealing with school shootings was "just like when in the military, my son was in Iraq for a year."
"There's so many members of the military coming back with post traumatic stress after witnessing the violence and participating in these children. These teachers should be focusing on their mental health as well," he added.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has revealed that the deceased suspect was a 28-year-old former student, not a teenager as earlier reports had suggested.
The 28-year-old was shot and killed in an encounter with police and once officer of the force received injuries from cut glass. Two officers out of a police squad of five engaged the suspect.
Nashville Police Public Affairs Director Don Aaron said during a press briefing that they are working to identify the suspect and emphasized there were no Metro Police personnel assigned to the private school operated by the church.
Aaron said during a press briefing, 'We do not know who she is at this juncture, we are trying to identify her."
"This is a church that operates a private school. There were no Metro Police personnel assigned to that school of any kind," he added.

Maricopa County Superior Court Rescinds Order Setting Dates for Kari Lake’s Ballot Signature Fraud Challenge as Supreme Court Extends Deadlines for Sanctions and Responses
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson issued a Minute Entry on Saturday, rescinding his previous order outlining the schedule for supplemental memorandums of law and oral argument.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Thompson, last Thursday, issued a new order, setting the schedule for review of Kari Lake’s signature verification challenge after the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that the trial court must reconsider this issue.
The deadline to submit memorandums of law was set for Tuesday, March 28, and possible conference with oral argument was set for Thursday, March 30.
Lake’s team filed a Motion to Clarify on Friday in the Supreme Court, extending the due date to file a response to sanctions requested by Maricopa County. The Supreme Court then issued a new order setting April 5 as the deadline for Response and April 12 as the deadline for the Defendants’ replies.
The new entry from Judge Thomspon “actually gives the @KariLake team more time now to prepare,” tweeted Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers.
In response to claims that Lake’s attorneys “inadvertently” caused this to happen, Rogers stated, “Navy SEAL attorneys like Kurt Olsen don’t do ANYTHING ‘inadvertently.'”
