The Best Way to Protect US Troops in Syria

Last week saw a sharp increase in attacks on US troops occupying northeastern Syria, with a drone strike against a US base blamed on “pro-Iran” forces and a US counter-strike said to have killed at least 19 people. After the US retaliation, another strike by “pro-Iran” forces hit a number of US sites in Syria. It may be just a matter of time before there are more strikes against the 900 US troops based in Syria against Syria’s wishes. One US contractor was killed last time. Next time it could be many more Americans.

What’s behind the sudden escalation? Fundamental changes in the Middle East over the past month have highlighted how indefensible is the continued US occupation of Syria and Iraq.

Take, for example, the recent historic mending of relations between former arch-enemies Saudi Arabia and Iran which was brokered by Washington’s own arch-enemy, China. US policy in the Middle East has long been “divide and conquer,” dating back at least to the Iran/Iraq war in the 1980s. US switching sides in that war guaranteed that the maximum amount of blood was spilled and that the simmering hatreds would continue to prevent any kind of lasting peace.

Then the US invaded Iraq twenty years ago and turned Iraq into an Iranian ally. That’s neocon foreign policy for you: a 100 percent failure rate.

So this month China, which is interested in creating a regional transportation corridor that would include Iran, came in and instead of bombing, invading, and occupying - Washington’s modus operandi – actually brokered the restoration of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Republicans and Democrats in the US both love to attack China, but China has achieved what the US has resisted for years: peace in the region. Should we be surprised that the continued US occupation is not welcome in the Middle East?

The United States occupies that huge chunk of Syria where the oil and agriculture is located and the goal appears to be producing profits for US multinational corporations from stolen natural resources and preventing the natural wealth of Syria to be used to rebuild that country. Is it any wonder why the US is so unpopular in the Middle East?

How hypocritical is it that the Biden Administration has spent $100 billion of our dollars to expel Russia from occupying proportionally less territory in Ukraine that Washington occupies in Syria? And Washington claims to stand for the “international rules-based order,” while they decimated an Iraq and Afghanistan that did not attack us, and before that a Serbia that could not have threatened us if it wanted to.

The end of the US occupation of the Middle East is upon us and the sooner we realize that the better. We have no business meddling in their politics, occupying their territory, and stealing their resources. Americans joined the US Military to defend the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, yet they have been manipulated by corrupt DC officials into occupying foreign lands and stealing their oil. Maybe this is why the US military cannot meet its recruitment goals?

Here's an easy way to protect US forces in Syria from further “Iran-allied” attacks: Bring them home. Tomorrow. Do not wait another day!

Special Counsel John Durham is revealing new smoking gun evidence, a text message that shows a Clinton campaign lawyer lied to the FBI, while putting the courts on notice he is prepared to show the effort to smear Donald Trump with now-disproven Russia collusion allegations was a "conspiracy."

In a bombshell court filing late Monday night, Durham for the first time suggested Hillary Clinton's campaign, her researchers and others formed a "joint venture or conspiracy" for the purpose of weaving the collusion story to harm Trump's election chances and then the start of his presidency.

"These parties acted as 'joint venturer[s]' and therefore should be 'considered as co-conspirator[s],'" he wrote.

Durham also revealed he has unearthed a text message showing Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann falsely told the FBI he was not working on behalf of any client when he delivered now-discredited anti-Trump research in the lead-up to the 2016 election. In fact, he was working for the Clinton campaign and another client, prosecutors say.

The existence of the text message between Sussmann and then-FBI General Counsel James Baker was revealed in a court filing late Monday night by Durham's team. Prosecutors said they intend to show Sussmann gave a false story to the FBI but then told the truth about working on behalf of the Clinton campaign when he later testified to Congress.

"Jim – it's Michael Sussmann. I have something time-sensitive (and sensitive) I need to discuss," Sussmann texted Baker on Sept. 18, 2016, according to the new court filing. "Do you have availability for a short meeting tomorrow? I'm coming on my own – not on behalf of a client or company – want to help the Bureau. Thanks."

The first UN Water Conference in almost five decades is taking place in New York on 22-24 March, co-hosted by the Netherlands and Tajikistan.

Former US president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle met with prime minister Anthony Albanese to talk about the global economy before the pair toured Sydney.

Albanese said he and Obama had a "very positive meeting" where they discussed the invasion of Ukraine and the global supply constraints.

"I had a very positive meeting with President Obama this morning in Sydney, talking about the global economy and what was occurring," Albanese said.

"The Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as the supply side constraints when it comes to the pandemic, have meant that there is upward pressure on energy prices."

Obama and his wife flew into Sydney on a private jet last night and were seen at disembarking at 7.30pm yesterday before being quickly moved by security into a hire car.

The pair attended Kirribilli house to meet with Albanese where locals were happy to see them.

White House Press Secretary: Biden Wants Congress to Pass More Gun Control

White House Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Monday that President Biden wants Congress to pass more gun control after an attacker shot and killed three students at the Nashville-area Covenant School.

Breitbart News noted that Nashville police indicated the attacker was a female armed with multiple firearms.

During her Monday press conference, Pierre referenced the gun control Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) worked with Democrats to secure in the summer of 2022, but stressed that Biden wants Congress to act to pass even more gun control.

She said, “He wants Congress to act because enough is enough.”

Supporters of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange gathered in London for an exhibition of artwork presented alongside the physical publication of top-secret government documents.

"States of Violence," which began Friday and lasts until April 8, is an exhibition featuring more than 15 artists and collaborators, including Ai Weiwei, Dread Scott and Vivienne Westwood. The exhibition displays a collaboration between Wikileaks, an arts organization called a/political and the freedom of information organization Wau Holland Foundation.

The artwork is presented alongside the largest-ever physical publication of top-secret government cables, not previously made available in hardcopy in the United Kingdom, according to a press release from a/political. The project comes just ahead of the fourth anniversary of Assange's April 11, 2019, detention.

"The State Department cable set is a unique near history of the world from the perspective of a nation that has overtaken all others," Assange's brother Gabriel Shipton told Fox News Digital. Prosecutors said the text message will become essential evidence at trial to show Sussmann lied to the FBI.

"The defendant lied in that meeting, falsely stating to the General Counsel that he was not providing the allegations to the FBI on behalf of any client," Durham's motion said. "In fact, the defendant had assembled and conveyed the allegations to the FBI on behalf of at least two specific clients, including (i) a technology executive ("Tech Executive-1") at a U.S.-based Internet company ("Internet Company-1"), and (ii) the Clinton Campaign."

The prosecutor noted that in House testimony a year later Sussmann admitted he made the FBI approach at the instruction of his client.

"We had a conversation, as lawyers do with their clients, about client 1 needs and objectives and the best course to take for a client," Sussmann testified in a deposition taken by then-House Intelligence Committee Republican investigative counsel Kash Patel. "And so it may have been a decision that we came to together. I mean, I don't want to imply that I was sort of directed to do something against my better judgment, or that we were in any sort of conflict."

Durham also told the court he plans to present evidence that Sussmann worked with the Clinton campaign, tech executive Rodney Joffe, identified as Tech Executive-1, and others in a "joint venture" to promote a now-disproven story that Donald Trump had a secret computer channel at the Moscow-based Alfa Bank with the Kremlin to hijack the election.

"As an initial matter, the Government expects that the evidence at trial will show that beginning in late July/early August 2016, the defendant, Tech Executive-1, and agents of the Clinton Campaign were 'acting in concert toward a common goal,' … namely, the goal of assembling and disseminating the Russian Bank-1 allegations and other derogatory information about Trump and his associates to the media and the U.S. government," Durham's team said.

"The evidence of a joint venture or conspiracy will establish," according to the prosecutors, "that in November 2016, soon after the Presidential election, Tech Executive-1 emailed a colleague, stating, "I was tentatively offered the top [cybersecurity] job by the Democrats when it looked like they'd win.'"

"In sum," the special counsel concludes, "the above evidence, public information, and expected testimony clearly establishes by a preponderance of the evidence that the defendant and Tech Executive-1 worked in concert with each other and with agents of the Clinton Campaign to research and disseminate the Russian Bank-1 allegations."

Patel, who helped unravel the false Russia collusion narrative with former Rep. Devin Nunes,

Biden uses Nashville school shooting to push for gun control

On Monday, Joe Biden addressed the school shooting in Nashville at The Covenant School that left three children and three adults dead and said "we have to do more to stop gun violence."

During a speech Biden said, "gun violence is ripping our communities apart, ripping the soul of this nation, ripping at the very soul of the nation. And we have to do more to protect our schools so they aren't turned into prisons. You know, the shooter in this situation reportedly had two assault weapons and a pistol. Two AK-47s."

"So I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban. It's about time that we began to make some more progress," he added.

Biden previously described the shooting as "sick" and "It's heartbreaking, a family's worst nightmare."

He later added that families dealing with school shootings was "just like when in the military, my son was in Iraq for a year."

"There's so many members of the military coming back with post traumatic stress after witnessing the violence and participating in these children. These teachers should be focusing on their mental health as well," he added.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has revealed that the deceased suspect was a 28-year-old former student, not a teenager as earlier reports had suggested.

The 28-year-old was shot and killed in an encounter with police and once officer of the force received injuries from cut glass. Two officers out of a police squad of five engaged the suspect.

Nashville Police Public Affairs Director Don Aaron said during a press briefing that they are working to identify the suspect and emphasized there were no Metro Police personnel assigned to the private school operated by the church.

Aaron said during a press briefing, 'We do not know who she is at this juncture, we are trying to identify her."

"This is a church that operates a private school. There were no Metro Police personnel assigned to that school of any kind," he added.

If filed, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s highly anticipated “hush money” indictment against former President Donald Trump will be unprecedented. No sitting or former president of the United States has ever been indicted.

The U.S. House impeached Trump twice — and Presidents Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton, once each. The Senate failed to convict any of them after their respective House “indictments.”

If Trump is indicted and then arrested, it will confirm America’s final plunge into Third World status. The U.S. justice system will be fully exposed as a tool to forgive Democrats and persecute Republicans, not least Joe Biden’s leading GOP rival. “Equal justice under law” will become a dim memory rather than a national ideal.

Until then, Americans should marvel at Bragg’s reported case. Manhattan’s far-left, George Soros-funded, thug-hugging DA might unseal an indictment with more holes in it than Trump’s Doral Golf Club.

First, hush money is no crime, unless someone gets paid to stay silent among police, prosecutors, defense attorneys, or judges. That is obstruction of justice.

Trump would be a criminal had he instructed his then-attorney Michael Cohen to wire $130,000 to Stephanie Clifford (nom de porn Stormy Daniels) to clam up if law enforcement asked about the adulterous affair that she alleges, and Trump denies.

Alas for Bragg, Trump reputedly paid Daniels not to talk with journalists. This is perfectly legal. Anyone who has signed a nondisclosure agreement (as Daniels did) understands this.

So, no crime undergirds Bragg’s fetish.

Second, the Federal Election Commission failed to judge any of this a crime. The FEC convened on Feb. 23, 2021. Its four voting members—two appointed by Democrats and two by Republicans—deadlocked. They could have criminalized this scenario, but they didn’t.

Third, the statutes of limitations have lapsed on all but one charge against Trump. The FEC’s First General Counsel Report specified on Dec. 7, 2020, that Trump faced three matters under review: The deadline for prosecution on MURs 7313 and 7319 was “Oct. 27, 2021 (earliest) – Dec. 8, 2021 (latest).”

MUR 7379’s limitation is “October 26, 2021 (earliest) – April 17, 2023 (latest).” While the expiration date on this accusation remains ahead (barely), Bragg has a huge problem. On page 6 of its report, the FEC’s general counsel wrote: “… we recommend that the Commission dismiss the allegation that Cohen, Trump, and the Trump Committee violated 52 U.S.C. § 30114(b) by converting campaign funds to personal use.”

Oops.

Fourth, with two-year, misdemeanor statutes of limitations hindering him, Bragg reportedly wants to file felony charges against Trump. These carry five-year deadlines and threaten stiffer penalties.

However, to make this a federal felony case (puzzling work for a local prosecutor), the alleged violation (filing false campaign-finance reports) must be tied to a second, separate underlying crime. Since the FEC failed to rule any of this criminal, Bragg’s felony indictment would be a hot-air balloon anchored to absolutely nothing.

Fifth, beyond the FEC, Gotham’s U.S. attorney and Bragg’s predecessor, Cyrus Vance Jr., both declined to prosecute Trump for hush money.

For his part, “Bragg appeared not to be focused on the case,” The Washington Post reported soon after he took office in January 2022. “Bragg didn’t seem keenly interested.”

That Feb. 23, Bragg’s Trump-related “inactivity,” as The Post described it, triggered the resignations of his deputies, Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz.

“I believe that your decision not to prosecute Donald Trump now, and on the existing record, is misguided and completely contrary to the public interest,” Pomerantz wrote Bragg as he quit. Pomerantz described the case against Trump as “suspended indefinitely.”

Pomerantz’s new book, People vs. Donald Trump: An Inside Account, bashes Bragg’s decision. This pressure and relentless Democratic demands to “get Trump” apparently pushed Bragg to spurn the law and instead fashion fresh partisan gifts for his fellow leftists.

Armed with these facts, Trump’s attorneys should file a motion to dismiss and then watch Bragg’s untethered contraption go up, up, and away.

The murder charge that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed against bodega worker Jose Alba is the latest outrage to result from the progressive agenda the top prosecutor unveiled after taking office in January, current and former city cops said Thursday. Ex-cop Eugene O’Donnell, a professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, said the case amounted to “an agenda crime” being pursued by Bragg — noting that Alba “was given little alternative” when ex-con Austin Simon attacked him behind the counter of his Hamilton Heights store Friday night.

“This is an office that is chock-a-block full of screwy interpretations and bizarre agendas,” O’Donnell said. “The DA himself is surrounded by people who think, ‘Behind every profitable business is a crime.'”

A veteran city cop fumed, “So, the guy who was defending himself is in Rikers and the guys who repeatedly do the crimes are on the street?” “Bragg needs to be removed,” the cop said.

“We always knew Bragg was for the criminals. I guess he just put his stamp on it.” Another source said the clerk “didn’t pick a fight” when Simon entered the store Friday after his girlfriend accused Alba of snatching a bag of potato chips from her daughter’s hand when the mom’s food-stamps card was electronically rejected as payment. “This guy got up and went to work and had to be subjected to an attack. Now he’s going to jail?” the source said of Alba. “They should give him the key to the city.” Bragg’s decision to charge Alba with second-degree murder came after he repeatedly sparked criticism by downgrading charges or lowering bail for other defendants under terms of the controversial, soft-on-crime “Day One” directives he gave Manhattan’s prosecutors.

Those cases include:

Career criminal Christian Hall had a felony robbery charge reduced to petit larceny and was released without bail after he allegedly threatened workers at a TJ Maxx store in Chelsea with a pair of scissors on Jan. 6. He was busted again on Feb. 9 in an unprovoked, sucker-punch attack on a city sanitation worker in the same neighborhood.
Ex-con Wiliam Rolon also had a felony robbery charge reduced to petit larceny after he allegedly threatened a Lower East Side drug store worker with a knife while stealing $2,000 worth of merchandise on Jan. 8. At his arraignment, Rolon was told by the judge that he should “feel lucky” because “the newly elected district attorney has new policies” and Rolon otherwise “would have faced a long period of time in jail if convicted.”
Marcus Wright scored a sweetheart plea bargain after he was accused of stealing nearly $1,400 worth of merchandise from Frame, a Soho boutique, on April 24. Less than a month later, Wright was busted again for allegedly punching a woman in the face during a random, May 13 attack while she was looking at her cellphone in Chelsea.

O’Donnell traced “the root” of Simon’s fatal stabbing to “the complete collapse of the rule of law” in the Big Apple. “When you disempower — cripple — the police, it falls on the shoulders of everyday New Yorkers,” he said. “These disputes are rampant, and they’re ugly, and they’re potentially lethal. People walking onto buses saying ‘I’m not paying my fare.’ People walking into stores taking out whatever they want, using cards that are invalid, asking for goods.” O’Donnell added: “This is on the shoulders of the people — in particular, prosecutors — and those who have argued that we’re better off without the police.” Bragg’s office didn’t immediately return a request for comment. Prosecutors had initially requested that Alba be held on $500,000 bail at his arraignment Saturday, citing a planned trip to the Dominican Republic next week as proof that he was a flight risk. A judge set his bail at $250,000. In court Thursday, prosecutors said they had negotiated a new bail package with Alba’s defense attorney and a judge agreed to the new amount of $50,000 — allowing Alba’s relatives and boss to put up the $5,000 needed to spring him on a bail bond.

Gotion Inc.’s $2.3 billion “Project Elephant” electric vehicle battery materials processing plant proposed for construction in Mecosta County, Michigan is facing increasing backlash.

The latest setback for Gotion comes after this week’s revelations the company’sbylawsinclude articles requiring the company “perform its duties in accordance with theConstitution of the Communist Party of Chinaand other Party Regulations….”

Gotion received state and local commitments of $1.14 billion when Project Elephant was announced last fall. Gotion says the taxpayer investment will yield 2,350 jobs in Big Rapids. Company Vice President of North American Manufacturing Chuck Thelen told the Michigan Senate Appropriations Committee this week that construction of the Big Rapids facility is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of this year, and production is anticipated to begin on the second quarter of 2025.

The committee met earlier this week to discuss whether to approve a$175 million taxpayer fundedStrategic Outreach and Attraction Reserve appropriation.

The Center Square reported last month that Big RapidsTownship voted for a federal reviewof Gotion’s bid to build on 115 acres in the township, citing concerns over the company’s Chinese ownership. Rather than respond to the township’s questions, Gotion refocused its siting plans to 408 acres in Mecosta County’s Green Township.

The inclusion ofCCP fealty requirementswere first reported by The Midwesterner News.

The specific requirements listed in Chapter VI Party Committee of Gotion’s Articles of Association include, “Ensure and supervise theimplementation of the Party’sguidelines, principles and policies in the Company, and implementmajor strategic decisions of the CPC Central Committeeeand the State Council as well as relevant important work arrangements of the Party organization at the higher level.”

The second requirement states, “Strengthen leadership and control over the selection and appointment of personnel, regulate standards, procedures, inspections, recommendations and supervision, and adhere to the principle ofthe Party’s supervisionof cadres, the board of directors' selection of managers and the managers’ exercise of the right to employ personnel in accordance with law.”

A third requirement relates to employee communications as well as concerns related to shareholder, board of directors, supervisor and senior management responsibilities to uphold the law.

The fourth requirement states, “Assume primary responsibility for comprehensively and strictly governing the Party; lead the ideological and political work, united front work, spiritual civilization construction, enterprise culture construction, labor union, Communist Youth League and other mass work of the Company; lead the construction of Party conduct and clean government, and support the Commission for Discipline Inspection in earnestly fulfilling its supervisory responsibilities.” (Are you fucking kidding me?)

The fifth requirement calls for strengthening “the construction of Party organization andParty members at the grass-roots level of the Company, give full play to the role of the Party branch as a fighting fortress and the vanguard and exemplary role of Party members, unite and lead cadres and staff to actively participate in the reform and development of the Company….”

In response to questions about Gotion Inc.’s ownership from Sen. John Damoose, R-Harbor Springs, Thelen responded, “it is a publicly held company through two major locations in Switzerland and China so the ownership is the public.”

Thelen acknowledged Gotion Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gotion High-Tech, although Gotion Inc. has been headquartered in Fremont, Calif., since 2015. Majority voting rights on the company's board of directors are controlled by the founding shareholders in China.

Thelen said Volkswagen has acquired 26% of Gotion High-Tech since 2020. In a press statement, he said the CCP does not influence Gotion Inc.’s North American operations.

Parts of Twitter source code reportedly leaked, company suspects insider

Elon Musk has previously vowed to release select portions of the code the platform uses to recommend tweets, though it remains unclear whether the leaked material included that code.

Twitter said parts of its proprietary code were posted online and had been exposed until Friday, when the company had the material removed from the web and filed for a court order to hunt down the source of the leak.

Select portions of Twitter's source code appeared online as part of a major leak that the company suspects an insider orchestrated.

The code appeared on GitHub, an online platform through which software developers may collaborate, according to the New York Times. Twitter demanded the platform remove the post containing the code on Friday, which GitHub promptly did.

The social media company has sought a court order from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California to require that GitHub identify the code's original poster and those who downloaded the material.

The individual who released the code fragments did so using the pseudonym "FreeSpeechEnthusiast." While the company only recently learned of the leak, the post has been live for many months.

Internal investigators suspect that the leaker is most likely one of the thousands of employees who either resigned or were laid off upon Musk's takeover of the firm last year.

Is there anything worse these days than being a progressive prosecutor? Last June, San Francisco voted overwhelmingly to recall progressive prosecutor Chesa Boudin. Boudin sought to reform the city’s criminal justice system. Boudin had promised to hold police accountable and end harsh sentencing that fueled mass incarceration. Instead, when street crime, drugs and hate crimes against Asians. Americans spiked, liberal San Francisco voted Boudin out of office.

Then there is Alvin Bragg, the newly elected district attorney in Manhattan. New York has no recall procedure, as exists in California, but Bragg has been taking it on the chin.

No sooner had he taken office than he issued a “day one” memorandum. In the memo, he instructed his prosecutors to stop prosecuting low-level crimes and ask judges for jail or prison time only for the most serious offenses – including murder, sexual assault and economic crimes involving vast sums of money – unless the law required them to do otherwise. The Bragg memo, until it was quickly withdrawn, evoked a firestorm of criticism from the already demoralized New York City Police Department (NYPD), the mayor and the governor seeking reelection. It appeared that the document had lacked internal vetting and had disregarded the political realities of rising crime in New York.

In his recent statewide gubernatorial campaign, Republican Lee Zeldin had his own day one memorandum. He vowed, if elected, to remove Bragg for refusing to enforce the law. Zeldin attracted attention in the state but didn’t win.

The potential new criminal charges against Trump in New York County are straightforward. Remember porn actress Stormy Daniels? Trump’s fixer lawyer Michael Cohen went to jail for a secret $130,000 hush money payment he made to Daniels in 2016. The payment was papered up as a legal fee and not reported on filed federal election forms as a campaign contribution. The payment, Daniels said, was to buy her silence about an alleged affair she graphically described with Trump. She claimed the affair had taken place in 2006. Is an under-the-table payment to a candidate’s mistress in 2016 over an alleged sexual liaison in 2006 too much of a stale and ancient claim to be barred by the five-year statute of limitations in New York? Not a problem. Periods not included are any period following the commission of an offense during which the defendant was continuously outside the state of New York. Last I checked, Trump was largely in Washington and elsewhere for the period 2017 to 2021, and at Mar-a-Lago most of the time from 2021 on, and no one is above the law.

Fulton County District Attorney Fami Ellis may be slow to charge Trump with election crimes in Georgia. Attorney General Merrick Garland may be too tentative to charge Trump with a seditious conspiracy arising from the events of Jan. 6 or a violation of the Espionage Act for mishandling the Mar-a-Lago documents — at least not without the fig leaf of a special counsel. Last month, Bloomberg reported that Justice Department prosecutors believed they had amassed sufficient evidence to charge the former president with obstruction of justice arising from the Mar-a-Lago documents. However, they had yet to recommend as much to Garland. The New York Times reported that a security camera caught a long-serving Trump staffer moving boxes after the subpoena demanding the return of all classified documents. The Washington Post piled on with the statement that a Trump employee told investigators that documents were moved at Trump’s explicit direction post-subpoena. But with the goal line in sight, Garland appointed a special counsel anyway.

Alvin Bragg can redeem himself and go down in history as a prosecutor for the ages, leaving Garland and Ellis trailing in the dust. He may be the first to charge Donald Trump, a former President of the United States, with a criminal violation, the falsely characterized payment of $130,000 to a porn actress named Stormy Daniels.
