Alleged Theft of 8M$ from public coffers
An assistant chief engineer of facilities for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has been indicted by feds for 17 counts. This official is alleged to have "siphoned $8 million from the commuter rail" according to a Boston Herald article dated today.

Many parts of California are places where people don't have much to do except drive around and show off their stuff, usually their cars.
The tradition of doing wild young-adult party stuff in a car is very much alive there still.

And the town where it was filmed is such a place, the town's biggest draw is that a 50 year old movie was made there.
