>Odd the new manuscript says to increase tithing from 10% to 25%.

The 10% was God's requirement of the Jews. Nowhere in Scripture is it a requirement of Christians. That said, many Christians use the 10% tithe as a guide.

A Christian could give zero and not be condemned.

There is no commandment to give, only a promise to supply generously to those who give generously - out of their abundance, not out of their want.

>For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

>Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”

Anon is too lazy to look it up right now but seem to recall a discussion, on the board, in the early Q yrs, of Trump having so much gold plate in his house because it stops EMP's…or some such thought.
