1000 yrs of european borders in three and a half minutes

what is this war REALLY about?

dija ever wonder why people often refer to ukraine as "the ukraine?" ya never heard anyone say "the italy" or "the france" dija?

the prefix of "the" is commonly used when it describes some region or territory that shares a common feature indendent of national boundaries, eg, the great plains or the rocky mountains in the US. or the sahara desert in africa, the andes mountains in south america, the tundra in north america and eurasia. so what is the common feature that unites the lands of "the ukraine" and WTH does "ukraine" even mean? well, the closest translation i can find common to slavic languages for "ukraine" is STOLEN LAND. that's right, "the ukraine" means THE STOLEN LAND. and if you watch the accompanying video, you can appreciate why. for most of the past 1000 yrs, "the ukraine" as a political entity did not exist. it was created by russia, when the USSR dissolved.
