New York: Protests Against Death of Black Man who Threatened Subway Passengers

 

Daniel Penny reportedly held Jordan Neely, a mentally ill homeless man, in a headlock that caused his death. Protesters are demanding Penny’s arrest although he was protecting other passengers on the subway who felt threatened. Neely had a record of 42 arrests between 2013 and 2021, four of the arrests were for assault.

Man Charged With Hate Crime After Allegedly Shooting Two Men Because They Were White

 

Tulsa, Oklahoma: Carlton Gilford, a homeless man, allegedly shot two men in the back of the head at two separate locations on April 18 and authorities are calling it a racially motivated hate crime. Lundin Hathcock, 35, was shot around 9:40 a.m. at the Rudisill Library, and James McDaniel, 55, was shot at a QuikTrip convenience store. Gilford was charged with two counts of shooting with intent to kill, and one count of malicious intimidation or harassment, which is Oklahoma’s version of a hate crime. He is being held without bond and is expected to appear in court on June 23.

Oklahoma Bans More than a Dozen Woke Banks from Doing Business with the State

 

Oklahoma is taking action to ban 13 major financial institutions from doing business with the state after a review determined the banks engaged in boycotting energy companies and instead prioritized agendas that run contrary to Oklahoma taxpayers’ interests. The state treasurer said that the State will not do business with banks ‘beholden to social goals that override their fiduciary duties.’ The move ultimately blocks the banks from managing billions of dollars in Oklahoma pensions, investments and other state entities.
