Elon Musk Couldn’t Fix Twitter Even If He Wanted To

It’s time to acknowledge that Twitter is not improving in any significant way under Elon Musk. Despite the CEO’s alleged commitment to freedom of speech and his flirtation with center-right circles online, the platform’s algorithm routinely clamps down on politically and culturally conservative individuals, preventing users from reaching their existing audience or gaining potential new followers.

Perhaps Musk ought to temporarily take the platform offline while devs rework the algorithm into something more, for lack of a better term, equitable that doesn’t include visibility filters and niceness factors or boosts corresponding to the number of exclamation points used. But what are the odds this could even be achieved? Despite being the owner and CEO of Twitter, Musk does not run the company.

Immediately following Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, I noted, in these pages, that the individuals composing the managerial elite — the over-credentialed, entrenched midwits who run every major institution in the country, the Yoel Roths and Ella Irwins — are still a dominant force in American civic life and Musk’s acquisition of Twitter wouldn’t change that. Rather, it couldn’t change that.

In the early 1940s, James Burnham published The Managerial Revolution, in which he observed Western society was moving away from a traditional capitalist system, in the interwar period, to one more reliant upon engineers, scientists, technocrats, and other credentialed intermediaries who act as regulatory agents to direct production. Burnham characterized this demographic as having subject matter expertise due to attaining merit-based credentials through graduating high school and participating in higher education.

Burnham argued that this new managerial class was becoming more and more powerful and would soon replace farmers, business owners, and entrepreneurs as the dominant economic class in society. He also forecasted that this group would become increasingly aspirational and seek to attain political power, which it would use to govern as unaccountable authoritarians because they had the skills to navigate the complex systems of government.

Years later, toward the end of the 20th century, noticing Burnham’s prediction had come true, paleoconservatives would echo his concerns — Pat Buchanan’s speech at the 1992 Republican Convention is one such example. They argued the managerial elite were unaccountable and did not share the priorities of the rest of the nation, and in the process of entrenching themselves in positions of power in business and government, they had displaced the traditional elite who were properly philosophically oriented.

This phenomenon, originally written about by Burnham over eight decades ago, has only spiraled further out of control.

Think of the “Twitter Files,” Hamilton 68, the Russia-collusion hoax, the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, and how desperately the government and its allies in the corporate media still try to gaslight the public about Jan. 6, 2021. These events changed the course of American history and irreversibly damaged the reputability of many public institutions, and for each to occur, they relied upon a compliant managerial elite.

The managerial elite intersects with all levels of government and corporate America. These are the people who actually run the country; they control the flow of information, material goods, and financial resources for everyone, and they are extremely ideologically motivated.

Even after massive layoffs and open-sourcing the algorithm, things still go awry. If fixing Twitter solely required writing lines of code, it’s reasonable to believe Musk could assemble the personnel to accomplish that task.

Is it really that hard to believe the managerial elite might be trying to sabotage the Dogecoin guy?

Who Are the 9 Secret Intel Officials Who Signed on to Hunter Biden Laptop Disinfo Letter “Who Cannot Be Named Publicly”

During the second presidential debate in 2020, Joe Biden and hack reporter Kristen Welker teamed up against President Trump.

At one point, Joe Biden interrupted Welker for his planned response to the Hunter Biden Laptop from Hell scandal. Joe Biden told the audience 50 intelligence leaders signed a letter saying the laptop was “Russian propaganda.”

The intel leaders all lied. They knew it was a lie. Joe Biden knew it was a lie. The media knew this was a lie.

And now we know that the Biden Campaign and current Secretary of State Tony Blinken organized this massive lie. The laptop was real and EVERY SINGLE INTEL ‘EXPERT’ who signed that letter knew it was real!

They have never apologized.

Here is the full letter signed by 51 intelligence officials who lied to the American public about Hunter Biden’s laptop being a Russian disinformation operation.

They ALL knew this was a lie.

But it was not just the 51 intel officers who signed the letter. Another 9 intel officers signed the letter but were too cowardly to go public.

This little-known fact is included at the bottom of the original document.

And here is the last paragraph. Nine additional “former IC officers who cannot be named publicly” supported the letter but would not openly sign their name to the letter.

There were 60 dishonest intel officers who lied to the American public about the Hunter Biden laptop being a Russian disinformation operation.

These 60 should be outed, subpoenaed, and punished for pushing such a brazen political lie to swing a presidential election. There is no way they should walk free without any fear of repercussions for their dishonest and illegal actions.

Biden’s Big Lie Upended After Note Appears Underneath His Tweet: ‘Very Misleading’

President Joe Biden can keep lying about the jobs his administration has “created” — but Twitter users are going to keep on fact-checking him on one of the biggest lies of his administration.

On Friday evening, Biden’s official presidential account tweeted a misleading graphic touting the job-creation run he claims to be on.

“This is what happens when you invest in America,” he tweeted.

“We have more work to do – but this is real progress.”

— President Biden (@POTUS) May 5, 2023

Yes — and I wonder why that was. Hmm. Perhaps it was the pandemic and the lockdowns that were put in place?

A community note — a feature added to Twitter under Elon Musk’s management that allows other users to fact-check erroneous posts — was added to the post that added a bit of context: “The record job creation under Biden is due to COVID-19 recovery, rather than any effort by the current President,” it states.

“Jobs were being created at a steady rate between 2010 and 2020 (under Obama and Trump), followed by a sharp drop due to COVID-19, which happened under Trump.”

Collin Rugg, whose Twitter bio identifies him as co-owner of the conservative website Trending Politics, called Biden’s tweet “very misleading.”

“In March of 2020 the US was locked down due to COVID. Unemployment skyrocketed & many lost their jobs,” he wrote.

“When Biden came into office, lockdowns were ending & everyone got their jobs back.

“Biden calls this ‘job creation.'”

I’ll Community Note this for you

Very misleading:

In March of 2020 the US was locked down due to COVID. Unemployment skyrocketed & many lost their jobs.

When Biden came into office, lockdowns were ending & everyone got their jobs back.

Biden calls this ‘job creation’

— Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) May 5, 2023

Indeed, the data show that the country’s employment levels have barely recovered to the peak levels seen in 2019.

Others noted the misleading nature of the chart Biden posted:

I’ll add some context:

These jobs weren’t created, these are people going back to work

The per month is skewed because it’s over a different time scale, it will likely not stay this high after the full 4 years

Lastly, this is largely driven by covid, not investing in America

— John 📈 (NFTJohn.eth) (@EverydayJohn_) May 5, 2023

I’m just going to sit back and wait to see how the community notes destroy this manipulative post.

— Emmanuel Rincón (@EmmaRincon) May 5, 2023

As of my knowledge, there is no information to suggest that President Joe Biden has ever started a company or personally created any jobs. All he’s done is take credit for the work of others. Biden has spent most of his career in politics, serving as a U.S. Senator from Delaware…

— Lawrence 4.68e+3 🔋 (@Avatrode) May 5, 2023

The tweet deserved all the hate it got, too. No other president or politician in recent memory has been so misleading on his history of job creation. After the Democrats helped destroy the economy, all Joe Biden had to do was let things return to normal, and as quickly as possible.

This shouldn’t have been a difficult task. Literally, all that needed to be done was to go back to status quo ante. Instead, Biden hasn’t been particularly good at this, producing numerous disappointing jobs reports and lackluster economic growth.

And now, Biden wants to tout the great job he’s done — despite rampant inflation, a significant chance of a recession in the next year and a cooling job market.

If nothing else, the Biden administration has distinguished itself by how shamelessly it’s willing to lie to the American people. Friday’s tweet about “job creation” is only the most recent example, but also one of its biggest.

That community note is just the beginning the kind of thing that the president will face as he tries to paint a fake picture of his record in the hope American voters won’t believe their lying eyes.

FOX Corp Demands Dominion Look into Leaks of Tucker Texts – Claim $787 Million Settlement May Be at Stake

In April Fox News reached a settlement with Dominion Voting Systems on the first day of the trial.

“The parties have resolved their case,” Delaware Superior Court judge Eric Davis told the court Tuesday afternoon.

Dominion sued Fox News for $1.6 billion over ‘false election rigging claims.’

The settlement totals more than $787 million, according to Dominion lawyer Justin Nelson.

This may have been the WORST lawyering in the history of lawyering.

Dominion lawyer Nelson made these comments following the agreement, “The truth matters, lies have consequences,” Nelson said.

“Over two years ago, a torrent of lies swept Dominion and election officials across America into an alternative universe of conspiracy theories, causing grievous harm,” he added.

“Money is accountability and we got that today from Fox,” says one of Dominion’s lawyers.

Since the agreement was announced FOX News fired Tucker Carlson, lost at least half of its audience, and watched left-wing publications leak out Tucker Carlson videos that were captured during discovery in the lawsuit.

Now FOX News is threatening to kill the deal after the Tucker Carlson videos were released to the public.

The Daily Mail reported:

Fox News demanded that Dominion Voting Systems conduct an internal investigation to determine whether it was responsible for the leak of damning text messages sent by former anchor Tucker Carlson.

Recently, Fox wrote Dominion saying evidence documents it provided to the company during recent litigation had been ‘disclosed to media organizations and published for mass consumption.’

Fox asked Dominion to launch an internal probe to ‘investigate and confirm that you are not the source of these improper disclosures.’ The outlet wrote that if Dominion were behind the leak, it would violate ‘the text and spirit of the parties agreement,’ according to The Hill.

In April, Fox agreed to pay Dominion a $787 million defamation settlement over false claims the outlet pushed about the integrity of the company’s voting machines during the 2020 presidential election.

Some of Carlson’s messages provided to Dominion during legal proceedings had previously been released, but since the settlement was announced, a number of unreleased and redacted messages – were leaked to the media.

Those messages included Carlson telling a producer that a video of three people attacking a victim around January 6, 2021, were not ‘how white men fight.’

Another leak included texts showing Carlson had used the ‘C-word’ to refer to a colleague.
