Lawsuit Bombshell: Sex Trafficker Jeffrey Epstein Was “a Business Partner” with Members of JPMorgan’s Board of Directors

For months now, the largest federally-insured bank in the United States, JPMorgan Chase, represented by WilmerHale, a law firm with more than 1,000 attorneys, has been attempting to bamboozle the American people with the narrative that it engaged in no wrongdoing when it provided millions of dollars in cold, hard cash to child sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein for more than a decade – without following the legal mandate of reporting this suspicious account activity to law enforcement. Internal emails produced in discovery in two lawsuits against the bank in federal court in Manhattan show that the bank was well aware that Epstein was a known sexual predator of children as it doled out all of this cash – at times reaching $40,000 to $80,000 per month.

The legal narrative that the WilmerHale attorneys crafted for the public and the media is this: a sole former employee of the bank – Jes Staley – is responsible for all of the bank’s wrongdoing involving Epstein, never mind that the bank was all too willing to take the lucrative business deals and clients that came its way from Epstein via Staley, as also documented in internal emails. To get headlines promoting this narrative, the bank has made a big deal of suing Staley on the premise that it wants to recover its legal costs by clawing back his compensation.

Victims of Epstein had filed a class action lawsuit against the bank last year. The bank offered a settlement of $290 million in that matter in June, which is pending a final fairness hearing. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Accuses Trump Administration of Colluding with Big Tech to Suppress Hunter Biden Story

Florida’s Governor, Ron DeSantis, accused the Trump administration agencies of colluding with Big Tech companies. DeSantis said these agencies worked together to suppress a story involving Hunter Biden’s laptop during the 2020 election.

In a recent interview on Fox News “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo,” DeSantis expressed his concerns about what he believes to be a significant issue from the 2020 election.

According to DeSantis, the Trump administration’s agencies were complicit in the suppression of a story related to information found on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

“I look back at the Hunter Biden censorship, which was a huge, huge deal to happen in the 2020 election, and yet those were Donald Trump’s own agencies that were colluding with Big Tech. I would never allow that to happen. I would fire those people immediately,” said DeSantis.

One user responded to DeSantis’ statement, “Trump’s case has always been that career bureaucrats, the intelligence community apparatus, and mainstream media colluded to sabotage his presidency and re-election. I don’t think this attack lands the way DeSantis thought it would and seems desperate.”

According to trial lawyer Robert Barnes, the actual court order specifically determined that the Trump administration was purposely kept in the dark and unaware of the Big Tech censorship by the FBI and others.

Australia joins G7-backed 'climate club' and promises to drive down greenhouse gas emissions

Australia is joining the "climate club" backed by the Group of Seven major economies to take more ambitious action in tackling global warming, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced.

The club was first proposed by Nobel Prize winner William Nordhaus as a way of getting countries to voluntarily set high targets for curbing climate change and then require trading partners to meet those same standards.

Such moves are opposed by major emerging economies like China, the world's biggest emitter of greenhouse gas.

"We're very pleased to join the climate club because we are ambitious and we also see that this isn't just the right thing to do by the environment, but this is also the right thing to do by jobs and by our economy," Albanese said at a news conference in Berlin after meeting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who made the idea a key pillar of his G7 presidency last year.

"One thing we can do is to cooperate and learn off each other, because you can't address climate change as just a national issue. It has to be by definition, a global response," Albanese said.

The Albanese government committed last year to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 43 per cent by the end of the decade — almost double the previous target.

In March, parliament passed a law requiring Australia's biggest greenhouse gas polluters reduce their emissions or pay for carbon credits.

Other countries that have joined the climate club include Argentina, Chile, Denmark, Indonesia, Colombia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Singapore and Uruguay.

US Attorney David Weiss’s story on whether he had the authority to bring charges outside Delaware in the Hunter Biden probe changed again.

Weiss sent top Judiciary Committee Senators a new letter on Monday acknowledging “discussions with Department officials” about whether he had the authority to bring charges against Hunter Biden in districts outside of Delaware.

“I was assured that I would be granted this authority if it proved necessary.”

IF IT PROVED NECESSARY?

That doesn’t sound like Weiss had “full authority.”

Biden-appointed US Attorneys in DC and California had the last say in whether Weiss could bring charges against Hunter Biden.

IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley responded to Weiss’s latest letter and ever-changing story.

“U.S. Attorney David Weiss’s story continues to change. As a practical matter, it makes no difference whether Weiss requested special counsel or special attorney authority. Under no circumstances should ‘the process’ have included the political appointees of the subject’s father, because Congress and the public had been assured it would not—but it did.” – Shapley’s legal team said.

Recall, David Weiss signed a June 7 letter claiming he had been granted “ultimate authority” over the Hunter Biden case.

“Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss told the House Judiciary Committee he had “been granted ultimate authority” over prosecutorial decisions related to the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden in a June 7, 2023, letter obtained by The Federalist. However, Weiss’s letter to Congress — and Attorney General Merrick Garland’s earlier testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee that Weiss had “full authority” to charge Hunter Biden — directly conflicts with statements Weiss made to senior members of the team investigating the Biden son.” – The Federalist reported.

This contradicts what an IRS whistleblower heard David Weiss say during one of his in-person meetings with the prosecutor.

Mark Lytle, an attorney for IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley told Fox News host Martha MacCallum that US Attorney David Weiss, the Trump-appointed Delaware prosecutor assigned to Hunter Biden’s case, said he had no power to bring charges against Hunter Biden.

“Weiss said he tried to go to the DC US Attorney’s office and they wouldn’t approve it. Comedian Sarah Silverman sues OpenAI, Meta for copyright infringement, claiming her book was used as AI training material

On Friday, stand-up comedian and writer Sarah Silverman filed two separate lawsuits against OpenAI and Meta over alleged copyright infringement, the New York Post reported.

The complaints claimed that the companies used Silverman's book, "The Bedwetter," for training AI programs without her consent. Writers Christopher Golden and Richard Kadrey also joined Silverman in the lawsuits.

OpenAI's ChatGPT and Meta's LLaMA allegedly trained their large language models by obtaining massive amounts of text from "shadow library" websites, including Library Genesis, Z-Library, Sci-Hub, and Bibliotik, according to the complaints. A significant amount of the material on these websites is illegally uploaded.

"The books aggregated by these websites have also been available in bulk via torrent systems. These flagrantly illegal shadow libraries have long been of interest to the AI-training community," the lawsuit against OpenAI stated.

When prompted, ChatGPT is able to summarize the authors' books, which is "only possible if ChatGPT was trained on Plaintiffs' copyrighted works," according to the complaint.

The lawsuit claimed that the AI programs are able to generate "very accurate summaries" of the books but failed to "reproduce any of the copyright management information."

"The summaries get some details wrong," the suit stated. "This is expected, since a large language model mixes together expressive material derived from many sources. Still, the rest of the summaries are accurate, which means that ChatGPT retains knowledge of particular works in the training dataset and is able to output similar textual content."

The authors' lawsuit against Meta claimed that LLaMA was trained using a dataset called "The Pile," created by the AI research organization EleutherAI. A paper published by the group stated that the dataset was "derived from a copy of the contents of the Bibliotik private tracker," a shadow library.

"These shadow libraries have long been of interest to the AI-training community because of the large quantity of copyrighted material they host. For that reason, these shadow libraries are also flagrantly illegal."

Meta and OpenAI were accused of violating six counts of copyright laws for failing to obtain consent to use the books as training material for their AI systems," the lawsuit stated.

Silverman, Golden, and Kadrey are seeking "statutory damages, actual damages, restitution of profits, and other remedies provided by law."

The authors' legal counsel, OpenAI, and Meta did not respond to a request for comment, the Post reported.
