maybe 'estate is on the Martha's Vineyard pond' is more correct.
the pond is not anyone's property.
the pond is a public waterway.
the place where the recovery occured is called 'Turkeyland Cove'
if you look at a landdeeds map there are very many different properties along Turkeyland Cove. you can find that here:

I have no idea which of these properties might be President Obama's digs, but to say that the pond is 'on his property' is a misrepresentation.

'wearing all black without a life preserver' seems like an odd detail.
