I’m an American nationalist. This country isn’t just an "economic zone", but it's not defined by ethnicity either. We’re not bound by the blood in our veins, we’re bound by the ideals that our Founders spilled blood to preserve. They wrote them out & we fought a Revolution, a Civil War, and Two World Wars to save them. I refuse to let the woke left or their intellectual cousins on the right browbeat us into thinking otherwise. I’m rooted deep in this country & I’ll stand my ground to the end if I have to. This is a good debate to have in the GOP, let’s smoke it out. 🇺🇸

OK, my two puffs:

When a nation starts to embrace and adopt an attitude that there is no qualifying legacy of ancestry or descendants of heritage to maintain and pass down tenants of its core philosophy of governance, then this argument will eventually see prerequisites like Article II, Section 1 as dated and unenforceable. Physical and logistical barriers to invasion are only part of a successful protectionist policy for a nation's preservation of identity and values; as you stated, it must be ideological as well. That ideology lies as much with its inheritors as it does with those that adopt it, willingly and wholly, by a rejection of previously held creeds. There is no prescribed constitutional or ideological method for which a unilateral and arbitrary charge of neglect against its people determine a more suitable inheritor of this nation and its furtherance. Any suggestion to the contrary is rightly challenged and dismissed.

If you seek higher office to represent The People, then it will be for all people. A leader does not get to favor one group over the other by executive fiat with any determination that reaches outside the boundaries of law. But this is a discussion that needs more attention, and better arguments to the contrary that fall in line with Enlightenment roots should be had, if for no other reason than to charge The People with a greater understanding of that which they've been blessed with.
