It has now been 33 yrs(in 3 more months actually)

I had dreams for years of sneaking a cig or finding one and trying to smoke it but I NEVER could. I would wake up before I could smoke it.

The desire goes away finally but it was the hardest thing to quit. It was my third attempt that made it stick. Just knowing you can never have just one will stop you. Congratulations on quiting. Your health after 10-15 years, will return to normal and should be as though you never smoked. That is something .

It doesn't take that long. You can tell the cravings are gone pretty much after a month. You will feel better and all. it just doesn't go away over night. Tobacco is a great reliever of stress. You need to find something to take it's place. Exercise is ideal. You will get a hit of feel good drugs from your own body if you actually push yourself to work up a sweat.

I learned how not to quit the first 2 times. I quit for 3 months and them 4 months for 1 simple reason. I thought I could just have 1 cig. I couldn't.

If you can learn one thing from me is that you cannot have just 1 cigarette.

I always told myself, if I wanted one I would have to wait for 54 minutes before I would have one.

The craving would go away.

After a couple days the cravings started to slowly go away.

One other thing.

I wanted to kill people anywhere around me for breathing my air. I was furious with everyone because I couldn't smoke. We have CBD oil/tinture now. I bet that would help enormously. I would recommend getting some and using it whenever you felt stressed. It is non addictive and just returns you to a more normal feel. That is it for me anyway.
