Anons, we have a kohler brand generator. It has the option of being “smart” but we chose not to hook it up to anything remote, or online. Last week we got an email with an updated TOS sent blanketedly to all users/operators. In it, it says they’re partnering with Microsoft, to help manage usage. Just throwing this info out there because it made us say hmm….
Brainwashing people to hate the very thing they need to survive.
Here’s the email.. red text is mine:

As part of Connected Products team, we wanted to let you know that we are working tirelessly to resolve the existing challenges in OnCue Plus network including unstable connectivity to old legacy servers. Our team is working in partnership with Microsoft to revamp the old system and thereby build a more robust architecture and a new experience for all our valued customers.
In an effort to enhance your experience with your KOHLER generator(s), we would appreciate your positive consent toshare your generator locationto Kohler Co and its authorized dealers that will help the system effectively monitor and service your generator(s).
