Even if used to displace people, what purpose is served for them to be humanoid?
Anon had engineered typical "industrial" Robots into many applications. Never a need for them to look human-esque.
Even the Fanuc wasn't inclined to make their "bartender" robot humanoid. It had a graphical image of a human face on some versions, but that was the extent of it.
