I'm confused.
This has something to do with the DEWs that were used in Hawaii?
>a hospital ship
Run by the military.
Don't those Doctors without Borders have hospital ships?
Admiralty law or maritime law makes it different to receive medical care at sea as opposed to on land?
Just like those loophole laws about gambling being allowed at sea but not on land so Riverboat gambling was born.
What can happen at sea that cannot happen on land?
I recall, long ago, reading that the Spanish women, from Spain, who were living in the Americas, would give birth on a Spanish ship instead of on land, because that would give their baby a Spanish (of Spain) citizenship. This would give their child privileges that they would not otherwise have if they weren't a Spanish citizen.
So when the Spanish woman was getting close to giving birth, she had to go live on the Ship that was stationed in the Harbor for that purpose. And it was a disaster if she gave birth early on land, because the child would then not be considered to be a Spanish citizen for some reason.
