Although they can be used to attack, it should be noted they can carry troops. If the choppers were operating in an attack mode, supporting each other, they would not likely come near each other. However, if they were both landing troops on the ground they might do that fairly close together in one SPOT. Likely they were landing together in one spot. Waiting for someone (VIP?) to pick up? No mention of other troops kia. The use of choppers to ferry troops would be something new. As lines of supply lengthen, it might require a quicker means of transport.
