Ignore our biolabs in Ukraine - just focus on the CCP arm of the Octopus

Biden HHS Hits Wuhan Lab With 10-Year Funding Ban Amid Mounting Evidence Of Leak

The Biden administration's Department of Health and Human Services announced on Wednesday that it has officially banned the Wuhan Institute of Virology from receiving US funding for a decade, based on mounting evidence that it was ground zero for the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra sent a letter to WIV Director Genera, Dr. Yanyi Wang, to inform her that the lab - which Dr. Anthony Fauci offshored risky gain-of-function research to, would no longer be funded by US grants until July 16, 2033, the NY Post reports.

The letter notes that attempts had been made to contact the lab via fax, email and mail about HHS’s decision to suspend funding in July, but no WIV officials had contested the designation or even responded to the agency.

In that earlier missive, the NIH said it found the Wuhan Institute of Virology had “conducted an experiment yielding a level of viral activity which was greater than permitted under the terms of the grant,” which was for the study of bat coronaviruses.

Other requests for the Chinese research institution’s lab findings had also been ignored after NIH made requests for them on Nov. 5, 2021, and Jan. 6, 2022. -NY Post

"WIV has not acknowledged the violations, has not cooperated with the Government to address the violations, has not accepted responsibility for the violations, and, therefore, presumably has taken no action to eliminate the risk to the Government in conducting business transactions with WIV presently or into the future," the letter reads.

Military Leaders Left Speechless After GOP Rep Asks If The Military Is Ignoring Biden’s Diversity Order

Military leaders were briefly rendered speechless Wednesday after Indiana Republican Rep. Jim Banks asked whether their insistence on merit-based promotions worked against a Biden administration order focused on increasing diversity.

Soon after taking office, President Joe Biden dictated that all federal workplaces, including the Department of Defense (DOD) should “cultivate a workforce that draws from the full diversity of the Nation.” Human resources officers and officials from all branches of the U.S. military defended the military’s ability to promote diversity and adhere to a merit-based system at a House Armed Services Committee subcommittee hearing, but struggled to answer whether their commitment to promote the best qualified individuals contradicted the goals of that order.

“However, this administration has made [diversity, equity and inclusion] front and center through executive order, and that affects the Department of Defense. How do you balance respect for diversity with your duty to a talent-based system?” Banks, who chairs the subcommittee, asked.

“The Army does not utilize demographic goals in its promotion system, and every individual who is eligible for consideration is viewed by the merits of their file,” which has information about past assignments, scores and education, Lt. Gen. Douglas Stitt, deputy chief of staff for Army personnel, said. Members of a promotion board move “those that are deemed best qualified” forward.

“Our process is based solely on the best and most qualifying standard,” Vice Adm. Richard Cheeseman, who serves an equivalent role in the Navy, said.

Counterparts in the Marine Corps, Air Force and Space Force echoed Stitt’s and Cheeseman’s comments.

“Is it fair to say you all are ignoring the presidents’ executive order? Can anyone respond to that?” Banks asked.

Silence blanketed the room for several seconds before Cheeseman volunteered his perspective.

“I don’t think we’re ignoring any specific executive order,” Cheeseman said. “In the Navy we do recognize that diversity can be a force for good as we’re mining talent throughout the country to make sure we have the best and most qualified available. That must be the standard.”

Biden Admin. Gives Half-A-Million Illegal Venezuelan Migrants Legal Status And Work Permits Following Demands From Strained Cities

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas today announced the extension and redesignation of Venezuela for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months, due to extraordinary and temporary conditions in Venezuela that prevent individuals from safely returning.

After reviewing the country conditions in Venezuela and consulting with interagency partners, Secretary Mayorkas determined that an 18-month TPS extension and redesignation are warranted based on Venezuela’s increased instability and lack of safety due to the enduring humanitarian, security, political, and environmental conditions. This redesignation provides temporary protection from removal, as well as employment authorization for individuals in the United States before July 31, 2023.

“Temporary protected status provides individuals already present in the United States with protection from removal when the conditions in their home country prevent their safe return,” said Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. “That is the situation that Venezuelans who arrived here on or before July 31 of this year find themselves in. We are accordingly granting them the protection that the law provides. However, it is critical that Venezuelans understand that those who have arrived here after July 31, 2023 are not eligible for such protection, and instead will be removed when they are found to not have a legal basis to stay.”

Applicants for TPS under this redesignation must demonstrate that they are Venezuelan nationals (or individuals without nationality who last habitually resided in Venezuelan) who have been continuously residing in the United States since July 31, 2023 and meet other eligibility criteria.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will continue to process pending applications filed under the previous TPS designation for Venezuela. Individuals with a pending Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status, or a related Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, as of the date of the forthcoming Federal Register notice, do not need to file either application again. If USCIS approves a pending Form I-821 or Form I-765 filed under the previous designation of TPS for Venezuela, USCIS will grant the individual TPS and issue an EAD valid through the same date.

Under the redesignation of Venezuela, eligible individuals who do not have TPS may submit an Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status, during the initial registration period which will be specified in a forthcoming Federal Register notice. Applicants also may apply for TPS-related EADs and for travel authorization. Applicants can request an EAD by submitting a completed Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, with their Form I-821, or separately later.

There are currently approximately 242,700 TPS beneficiaries under Venezuela’s existing TPS designation. There are an additional approximately 472,000 nationals of Venezuela who may be eligible under the redesignation of Venezuela.

Google Accused Of Suppressing Rumble’s RNC Presidential Debate Link: REPORT

Google allegedly limited the visibility of Rumble’s livestream during the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) first presidential debate in August, The Intercept reported.

When a Google representative inquired about the RNC’s livestreaming plans for the debate, the committee told the tech giant that Rumble, a video competitor to Google-owned YouTube, held exclusive rights to it, according to emails obtained by The Intercept. Google’s attempts to obtain a livestream link from Rumble ahead of the debate to showcase it prominently were unsuccessful, and then the competitor’s link allegedly was obscured in search results during the event, according to the outlet.

Google is YouTube’s parent company and Rumble is viewed as its competitor because it is a popular alternative video service.

Rumble’s link to the debate did not make the first page of Google results, according to The Intercept. If an individual searched “GOP debate stream” on Google, they would receive links to YouTube, Fox News and articles related to the debate, according to screen recordings of searches at the time.

Rumble is engaged in an antitrust lawsuit against Google, according to a court filing.

“The first Republican presidential debate was yet another example of Google’s determination to squash competing video platforms,” Rumble general counsel Michael Ellis told The Intercept. “We look forward to proving Google’s continued anticompetitive conduct in court.”

Google denies it suppressed the platform, saying it would set up a Rumble livestream feature for the second RNC debate.

“The facts here are very mundane,” a Google spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “People could easily find information about where to watch the debate in Google Search results. And as part of our ongoing effort to build dedicated features in Search to more prominently showcase events like debates, we reached out to the RNC and Rumble, but unfortunately it didn’t come together in time to test and create the livestream feature. We’ve already worked with the RNC and Rumble to get this feature set up for the next debate, as we would do with any livestream provider.”
