Missouri Atty Gen. Sues Woke School Board outside St. Louis for Violating Open Meetings Laws when Making Transgender Policies

Wentzville is a small Missouri city of 45,000 people. It’s a fast-growing ‘exurb’ around St. Louis. It hosts an annual “Renaissance Fair” for people in the area. It’s a part of St. Charles County Missouri that went solidly for Trump in both 2016 and 2020.

So locals are asking: why is their school board committed to pushing a pro-transgender agenda throughout its school system?

It turns out that the woke school board decided to push the transgender agenda without following Missouri law, which caught the attention of the Missouri Attorney General who filed suit against the Wentzville school board this week.

The Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey alleges in its complaint that the faction of the school board in Wentzville illegally developed and promoted pro-transgender policies by making the policies in secret. The process was not legal, the Attorney General alleges, because the school board improperly following the open meetings law. Specifically, the complaint says they met in secret and developed a plan and strategy to push this hard-left agenda on kids without the public’s knowledge and consent.

The three conservatives on the school board are: Jen Olson, David Lewis, Renee Henke. The three leftists on the board are: President Jason Goodson, Katie Lyczak, and Julie Scott. Local activists are hopeful that Shannon Stolle will side with the pro-parents group and ends up as a swing vote but has been inconsistent.

Imagine my surprise when I opened my email to find an invitation from the MI State Department to an all-day, “non-partisan” voting event at Oakland University in Rochester, MI, for high school and college students, featuring ONLY elected Democrat members of Congress. The event, which is “hosted” by MI SOS Jocelyn Benson’s State Department, is also being sponsored by two far-left organizations.

This nonpartisan event is held annually for high school, college, and university students, educators, administrators, and individuals in the civic engagement and student voting space!

The event is hosted by the Michigan Department of State in partnership with Campus Vote Project.

The event, which is being billed as a “non-partisan” event that will be funded with MI taxpayer dollars, features an “Elected official panel” that will discuss “youth voter engagement.” The only problem is, in addition to featuring MI Dem SOS Jocelyn Benson, who oversees the State Department funding the voter event, and MI Dem AG Dana Nessel, the panel ONLY includes Democrat members of the MI State Legislature.

The student “breakout sessions” will also be led by an ALL-DEMOCRAT team of elected members of Congress.

Federal Judge Strikes Down Texas Law Banning Minors From ‘Sexualized Performances’ Including Drag Shows

A federal judge has struck down a Texas law prohibiting “sexualized performances,” including drag shows, in the presence of a minor.

The legislation, Senate Bill 12, was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott in June.

The law applies to performances containing nudity and “the exhibition or representation, actual or simulated, of sexual acts,” or performances that appeal “to the prurient interest in sex … regardless of whether compensation for the performance is expected or received.”

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge David Hittner ruled that the law is too broad and “impermissibly infringes on the First Amendment and chills free speech.”

“Not all people will like or condone certain performances,” Hittner wrote in his ruling. “This is no different than a person’s opinion on certain comedy or genres of music, but that alone does not strip First Amendment protection.”
