I don't live in a forest, but browsers know me well. For secure connections, on me, they dwell. What am I?
Cannot be DNS nor Digital Certificate because they can dwell in a hierarchy or forest of nodes, even if small. On top of that, the internet is a network of nodes thus a forest.
VPN is not the only way to get a secure connection, TSL/SSL.
In order to dwell it is a must have. Therefor, the answer would have to be a "Port". There are around 64k unique ports that are local to your machine. Regardless of TCP/IP and SSL there are other protocols too. They all must run on a port.
