NEW DETAILS: Leftist Editor Boasted of Duping Young Boys into Sex, ‘Spitroast’ Them For Hours.

Slade Sohmer, former editor of The Recount, bragged in private text messages about nearly tricking a 14-year old boy into having sex in a public restroom. Following his arrest, police found evidence that Sohmer posed online as a teenage girl, offering to meet and engage in sexual intercourse with underage boys. Sohmer even admitted to attending the meeting he had set up, claiming the teen boy was “horny” and “bulging” because he thought he was meeting a girl. Sohmer says he did not go through with his plan to rape the child, claiming “I chickened out.”

Sohmer, who was hired byThe Circus’ John Heilemannto run his far-left ‘Recount’ website, also boasted about using social media app SnapChat to convince a 15-year old boy, and in a separate incident a 13-year old boy, into performing live sex acts for him using the video and photo app. In another instance, he fantasized with another individual about ‘spit-roasting’ (a type of sexual act involving three individuals) a teenage boy.

Writing about another young boy, Sohmer texted a friend: “I’d love to show up outside his school and force him into our car and take him to a hotel and just use him for 48 hours”.

The left-wing editor and journalist was arrested last week in Massachusetts on suspicion of downloading and disseminating child pornography. When police examined Sohmer’s personal computer they uncovered over 1,300 pornographic images and videos – many of which are believed to involve underage children. At least eight of the underage victims seen in the videos and photos have been identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

by Stephanie

Being asked to speak in front of a room full of people is a pretty scary thought for most people. But a classroom full of 10-year-olds? Phew! I mean, kids are a tough crowd, right?

So, when writer, Slade Sohmer was asked by his mother to speak to her 4th-grade class about writing in honor of Teacher's Appreciation Week and Mother's Day, naturally he was nervous. But, it turned out to be a rewarding experience for Slade, and one he will cherish for the rest of his life.

Slade shared the experience with the children to his Twitter. Scroll down to read the emotional story.

This is Slade.

Slade was asked by his mother to speak to her 4th-grade class about writing. He had no idea he would be discussing so much more than that.

Of course, no one expected the children to react badly, however, often parents instill their own beliefs onto their children without even realizing it, which can create a negative bias for young kids.

The former editor-in-chief of the left-leaning news website The Recount has been charged with multiple counts of child pornography.

Slade Sohmer, 44, is accused of possessing and distributing hundreds of child abuse material, including images depicting the rape of a child who was around four years old.

The Otis, Massachusetts, resident was arrested on Friday at his home after police obtained a search warrant for his devices.

He was released on Monday on $100,000 bail after pleading not guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of dissemination of child pornography.

The journalist was ordered to have no access to the internet, engage in location notifications with a parole officer and avoid contact with minors.

Investigators said in court documents they found footage showing boys as young as four being raped and forced to perform oral sex acts by adults.

The probe reportedly started after the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reportedly informed the Massachusetts State Policy Cyber Crime Unit that someone had shared a suspicious video on Snapchat in September, 2022.

Police say they then traced the IP address to Sohmer's home.

The Berkshire Eagle reported the footage showed an 11-year-old boy masturbating.

Sohmer was also allegedly filmed instructing a minor to perform sex acts.

He previously worked as a camp counselor for a nonprofit in New York, per his LinkedIn,which says he has worked as a co-director at Camp Power since 2010.

Sohmer was the head editor at The Recount for four years, until last month. He was removed from his position after the probe began, as reported by Fox News.

He also had stints at Mic and SiriusXM radio and co-founded Hyper Vocal news site.

Assistant District Attorney Marianne Shelvey said the case is one of the 'most egregious' she has seen, as reported by The New York Post.

We went from just dissemination of child pornography to production of child pornography,' Shelvey said in court.

Fox News noted that Buzzfeed has removed a 2018 article about Sohmer titled 'People Are Touched By This Writer's Conversation With A Bunch Of Fourth Graders.'

The article saw Sohmer highlighting questions asked by children in a classroom taught by his mother.

Sohmer is scheduled back in curt on December 21.

He faces a mandatory sentence of 15 years if convicted of all charges.

The Recount’s parent company The News Movement told The Post in a statement that Sohmer 'is no longer editor-in-chief following a company restructure exercise in early October to focus on our editorial and commercial plans.'

Ain’t Too Proud to Keg: Here Comes the Beer-Slamming, Sports-Loving Gaybro Army!

Lady Gaga fans need not apply

By Myles Tanzer • 03/05/13 7:22pm

Slade Sohmer, the 33-year-old founder of the blog network HyperVocal, lives in Brooklyn and loves Liverpool Football Club. He was dismayed when the team sold its star player Fernando Torres to a rival, partly because Mr. Sohmer had a most unhooligan-like crush on the blond-haired striker.

His sports fandom was one of the reasons Mr. Sohmer waited to come out until he was 27. “I just never identified with the community,” he said. “There was nothing in my life that said you can play fantasy football and be gay. That didn’t exist in my world.”

By some definition—though not his own—Mr. Sohmer is what’s known as a “gaybro,” a subset of guy’s guys who don’t want to be defined by their sexual orientation so much as their manly interests. More at home at a tailgate than a Lady Gaga concert, the gaybro can be an awkward fit. This is also a problem on the Internet, where politically minded gay blogs like Joe My God or Towleroad cater to aspiring grooms rather than NFL fans. “They say nothing to the people that watch sports, listen to classic rock or pound beers,” said Mr. Sohmer.

The gaybro army takes its cues from the private but newly proud Anderson Cooper and the bearded rugby player Ben Cohen. They meet up using geolocation-based hookup app Scruff, where chest hair and mustaches get a warmer reception than on Grindr, the more popular appthat tends to feature hairless, younger, more “scene” guys. Gaybros also have a growing Internet presence thanks to Alex DeLuca, a 23-year-old who is creating a site specifically for them.

The gaybro, said Mr. DeLuca, is “your best bud, the guy you played sports with in high school, the guy you went on a camping trip with last summer, the guy you meet at the bar for a drink after work on Fridays.

“He makes fun of your picks for fantasy football, or he shows you the right way to do a keg stand. He would identify himself through his interests and character before anything else. He just so happens to be gay.”

On a chilly Saturday in February, The Observer sat down at The Boiler Room in the East Village. Mostly empty at first, the room slowly filled up with the diverse crowd that the shadowy East Fourth Street bar draws—NYU twinks, muscled East Village yuppies and Stonewall-era old-timers.

There’s an unspoken rule that Lady Gaga shouldn’t be played on the jukebox (however, Robyn is fine). It was therefore the perfect place to meet Mr. DeLuca, who was appropriately clad in a green letterman jacket.

Mr. DeLuca describes himself as “a guy’s guy” who’s into sports—specifically hockey, Xbox and shooting. But others who share his interests haven’t always been into him. While posting on his favorite online hunting forum, he would find that mentioning his boyfriend begat angry emails from other subscribers telling him to stop “shoving it in people’s faces.” Frustrated by the hate-messaging, he wanted a space where he could talk about grilling, games and guns and not worry when he wanted to discuss his date nights too.

In January 2012, he took to Reddit, the social news site that bills itself as “the front page of the Internet,” and founded a subreddit called gaybros. There, as elsewhere on Reddit, members can post links or texts of interest to the group and other users can vote on what content gets to rise to the top.

Reddit was already teeming with LGBT-related subreddits such as gaymers (a network that caters to gay video game enthusiasts), and Mr. DeLuca’s gaybros subreddit took off quickly. Now, little more than a year later, it has almost 23,000 subscribers. Some of the items posted this week included a news update about the NHL’s work encouraging young gays to play hockey, a solicitation for tips on how to stop your gag reflex and a discussion on what the group thinks of crossing your legs.

Mr. DeLuca is now trying to organize the group en masse, via a website that’s being built from the ground up by an all-gay coding team. They just netted over $2,700 from an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. The idea for the new site came after “several big-name media companies” approached him and wanted him to helm new gay-focused media properties. (Apparently, this is a thing—Vox Media, which publishes SB Nation, The Verge and Polygon, just bought Outsports, a gay sports site.)
