You're not providing any information that could help with a diagnosis. Is VLC even the right tool? I never use it. Try ffmpeg.
As for playback, the fact that the app can play the videos is the proof that you are doing something wrong.
>Why don't you try downloading one and posting it here yourself?
Here's a ten-second sample. The app works. I know because I wrote it. I never use VLC because it has never worked for me. 90% of the time it won't even play a video, let alone download anything. Maybe VLC just doesn't work for you. Have you tried anything else?
Are you feeling down, bro?
Do not fret. I'm working on a new version of the app which can actually download the videos as MP4. Turns out that all I have to do is concatenate the video segments and, voila, an MP4 file.
P.S. Where are the other 43,910 hours of video???
The J6 download app has been updated
Now features the ability to download the videos as MP4.
Support for the DASH format has proven to be rather sparse and inconsistent. I can play the DASH file in SMPlayer but I can't get it to work with VLC (quite frankly, VLC has always been problematic for me). FFMPEG seems to be fine with DASH though I have not thoroughly tested it.
Please report any issues here.
https://8chananon.github.io/dl/j6-download.htm
>no way to download mp4's until yesterday.
That is incorrect. The problem was tool choice. You guys did not try ffmpeg. Nor anything else besides VLC and some online site (neither of which worked though they should have).
I suspected that the DASH format might be problematic but I had no way to know that people would be trying to work with sticks and stones instead of using proper video editing tools. It took more than three weeks for somebody to finally complain about it.
Anons failed to meet me halfway by at least coming into this properly prepared with tools. You made me look like an idiot when it was your own damn failure. Thanks for that.
Now you have what you need. But maybe not. If the plan is to flood this thread with mini clips then you're not doing the job. We need curated clips that highlight important context. But you would need proper tools for such work so I guess that's a bridge too far.
Anybody aware yet that new J6 videos have been uploaded to Rumble?
https://rumble.com/c/CHASubcommitteeOnOversightRepublicanMajority/playlists
Working on a new version of the J6 downloader to handle this.
New J6 Rumble channel
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/new-rumble-channel-established-release-jan-6-security-video-congress
And a new downloader:
https://8chananon.github.io/dl/j6-rumble.htm
P.S. Most of videos are rather useless. What is there to see in the middle of the night?
>Do you just mean clips that are truly analyzed as opposed to posted "as is"?
Yup, that's what I mean. What's the point of posting vids where nothing of interest is happening?
For example, if a person of interest appears in several videos (cop, Antifa, fed, whatever), it would be helpful to combine all of the scenes involving that individual into one clip.
Rumble updated with new J6 videos
4 videos added to the playlist for Camera 903 (84 vids) and a new playlist for Camera 907 (87 vids).
https://8chananon.github.io/dl/j6-rumble.htm
Rumble updated with new J6 videos
Download app has also been updated due to a change at Rumble.
Current playlist with number of videos:
Camera 903 - 84
Camera 906 - 104
Camera 907 - 88
Camera 908 - 135
Rumble updated with new J6 videos
Camera 902 added. In total, the playlists add up to 483 videos. Going through the video listing, I counted only 476 videos. I suppose that means that somewhere in the playlists, there are 7 duplicate entries.
Camera 902 - 72
Camera 903 - 84
Camera 906 - 104
Camera 907 - 88
Camera 908 - 135

Seven of the videos in the playlists are from the backup channel (no copy in the main channel):

There may be other discrepancies which I have not noted.
Massive new tranche of J6 videos uploaded to Rumble
https://twitter.com/SpeakerJohnson/status/1763597214641729683
.@HouseGOP and I applaud Subcommittee Chairman @RepLoudermilk and the @HouseAdmin committee for their ongoing work to deliver ALL the January 6th tapes to the American people.
Today, 5,000 more hours of Capitol security footage from January 6th, 2021 is now available for the public to view.
Yup. The playlist count is now 200. Massive.
What is really interesting is that Rumble is actively blocking my Rumble download app. Special cookies have been implemented specifically for this purpose, cookies whose names clearly indicate their intent. I'm working on finding a workaround. Unfortunately, this might not be possible with the remote proxy server currently being used for the app. Will update as soon as possible.
J6 downloader has been updated
That didn't take long. Rumble doesn't understand the capability of my proxy server. I won't say more on that to avoid giving the Rumble devs any clues.
https://8chananon.github.io/dl/j6-rumble.htm
Lemme know (here) if you encounter any issues with the downloader app.
J6 downloader has been updated (again)
Rumble has backed off on their attempt to block my downloader. The cookies didn't work. I'm not sure that there is anything at all that they can do to block the app short of reworking their system architecture.
I'll be keeping an eye out for further attempts to block me. Unfortunately, the app has to be changed every time they mess with something on their end. This could turn into a spy-versus-spy scenario like the one with the 8kun Authentigator (kek).
I can't say for sure that Rumble is specifically targeting my app. Could be that they are trying to block something else. Quite frankly, hardly anyone is using the J6 downloader since I have only promoted it here in this thread.
https://8chananon.github.io/dl/j6-rumble.htm
The original 8 playlists have been removed from Rumble. Why did they do that? Will they be restored?
Also, only 360p and 480p are available. You peons have been denied the 720p and 1080p formats. The powers-that-be don't want you to be able to identify the feds.
For now, the 720p and 1080p download options are still shown in the downloader app. I'll change that when it becomes clear that those formats will continue to be denied.
It's up to anons if they want to give the J6 videos more visibility.
I don't care who does or doesn't use my app. I made it because it's what I do.
