gay wedding cakes are not the problem and gay people getting married is not the problem it is the forcing of their ideals on others. The cake thing personally pissed me off because it created a compelled creation problem which is an infringement on your first amendment rights. It was when gay people wanted to get married in churches that was the issue at first, I don't think any rational person would object to civil unions so the government recognizes it.
fuck off. There are plenty of reasons for them to get married considering the government sees fit to give people rights based on the piece of paper. Gay people should be able to get those rights also. You do not have to agree with their life style or want to associate with it, but you do need to give them the same rights as every other person. Is getting married a right, not per se, but if you offer it to one group you should offer it to another. Seems straight people have done plenty to ruin society.

The walking on the streets in thongs is a much different thing than a legal representation. Butt sex on the streets is already illegal the issue is the police will not enforce the laws that are already written. marriage is a contract that gives people rights and benefits. However most peoples definition of marriage is something that happens as a religious ceremony. The church as an institution should be able to refuse, but because they take federal funds they are forced to. Marriage is a religious ideal, civil unions are a government thing.
